Chapter 7

(Natsu POV)

I was watching these humans as they walked around the cells, Luce and I were the only ones left in the cells, and it was because of these stupid chains. I felt Luce move on my side and I turned my head to look at her. As I looked at her, one of the mages walked to me, I turned to look at them, it was that old man.

"Hello there, your name is Natsu, right?" the old man asked, "I am Makarov Dreyar, or Master or Gramps as some of the members of my guild call me." I growled at the mention of the name Dreyar. The old man held his hands up, "I am not like my son, I banished him from my guild for his actions against his other guild members."

"I guess that your guild is our first stop after we are free," I growled, knowing that the old man couldn't understand me, we needed to stop there for Laxus and Kinana. I looked over at Laxus, he nodded his head. There were footsteps coming down the stairs, Gajeel and the blue-haired girl were back.

"Freed, I found something that can help us undo the enchantments on the chains," she told the green haired man.

Freed, as he was called, looked at the small woman and then at the book. "It is a multilayered enchantment, it has a sealing enchantment overlaid with a blocking enchantment," the girl explained.

"That is great, Miss Levy, did you find any other notes on the enchantments"? Freed asked the girl.

"I just grabbed this book, but there could be more in the same room," the girl, Levy, told him, "Oh Gajeel, here is the bag that you wanted me to get," Levy told Gajeel handing him a bag.

'Is that what I think it is,' I thought as I looked at the bag, and by this time Luce was awake because of the noise.

"Is that what I think it is, Gajeel?" Luce asked the metal dragon, repeating my thoughts. Gajeel nodded his head and handed the bag to Luce. She peeked in and sighed in relief, "It is all there."

"I don't mean to pry, but I looked at some of the enchantments on that strap. That looks like a pretty complex enchantment. What is in that bag that there needs to be that type of enchantment on it? Who put the enchantment to it?  What are those runes? I have never seen runes that look like that and are that golden color?" Levy asked Luce, Luce held up her hand to stop Levy's seemingly endless questions.

(Lucy POV)

I held my hand up to stop Levy's constant questions so that I could answer them.

"First of all, what is in this bag are things that are important to the dragons and I, second I put the enchantment on, and third, these runes are not like your regular runes, they are from the celestial realm, that is why they are golden," I explained to her.

"But if you were able to write enchantments like these, how come you can't undo these enchantments," Freed asked me.

"I am very knowledgeable in the field of runes of Dragons and Celestial beings, not in the field of runes that belongs to mages like yourself," I told him, "I can write and rewrite enchantments for dragons and Celestial beings, but because of that I am unable to mess with the runes of mage enchantments, but I can read a magic circle because of my knowledge of the dragon and Celestial runes, even alter them if I am fast enough."

"Why can you rewrite a magic circle and not an enchantment?" Freed asked.

"Because during my time with Igneel, Natsu's father, he taught me about magic circles and how they are made, and more importantly how to read the markings on a magic circle," I told him.

"Markings, what markings?" Levy asked me.

"Every magic circle has special markings, but you need to have certain knowledge to see them, in the center of the magic circle is a large mark. That is a mark that tells you what type of spelling it is, and that is the easy part. The part where you need to know Dragon, Celestial, or any other type of special runes comes in, when you are learning how to use these runes. Your eyes start to change to where you can read runes, think of it as self-translation spell implanted in your eyes, it allows you to see and translate runes that are invisible to the naked eye, but for some reason that makes reading the runes of mages difficult, think of it like having dyslexia for only mage runes," I explained to the two mages.

"What are the other special runes?" Freed asked.

"There are only four types of special runes, they are Dragon, Celestial, Demon, and God runes," I told him.

"So, while you can use these special runes, they are completely useless against manipulating mage runes," Freed pointed out.

"Yes, sadly," I sighed, "So can we work on these chains," I asked.

"Yes, let's get to work," Levy said and she opened the book she brought in and got to work.

(Time Skip)

(Erza POV)

I was sitting down waiting for Freed and Levy to be done, and I am not sure why but I am getting the feeling that I am being watched by someone. I looked around until my eyes landed on a pair of big brown eyes. I jumped a bit in surprise then I realized that it was that little color changing dragon, Wendy, I think.

"Hello there, why are you staring at me," I asked her, she slowly walked closer to me, when she reached me, she started to sniff me, she walked over to my hair, reached out and.................started to chew on my hair, she was trying to eat it.

"What are you doing?!" I whispered; I didn't try to stop her because I wasn't sure that the other dragons would like it if I touched her.

"Hahaha," I heard someone laugh, I looked to see that it was Lucy who was laughing.

"She thinks your hair is a strawberry," she laughed out, "She loves sweet things, so I guess she thinks your hair is a sweet strawberry."

"Well, if she stops chewing my hair, I can give her something sweet," I told her, if she loves sweet things then she is going to love cake.

"Okay, Wendy, you need to let go, miss uhhh," she looked at me for my name.

"Erza, Erza Scarlet," I told her.

"Miss Erza, is going to get you something sweet to eat," Lucy told her, and the little dragon let go of my hair. I went to my wagon, I dug through it and pulled out the box that had a freezing lacrima in it and I pulled out the two slices of cake that I got from the baker before I left. I was going to save the second slice for later, but it would be a worthy sacrifice to see the face of that little dragon when she eats it. I went down the stairs with the cakes and I gave a slice to Wendy and I re-equipped a fork to eat my slice. I looked at Wendy to see that she was just looking at the cake.

"It is okay, see I can eat it, it's strawberry cake," I told the dragon, I took a bit out of mine to show her and I was filled with happiness the moment the taste of the cake touched my tongue. I looked back at the dragon, and she was looking at the cake, and she took a cautious bite, she chewed, then swallowed. I waited to see her reaction, I saw her mouth shape into a dragon-like smile, she called out for the other dragons, the black and white dragons went over to her and took a bite out of the cake.

They had the same look of happiness as Wendy, well except the black one, but I am sure I saw a smile appear on its face. They started to fight over the cake, butting heads when one tried to get a bite, the older dragons were watching the scene. I looked at Kinana and then at Lucy, Kinana looked worried but she didn't intervene. Lucy was watching me, so I guess she is testing me. I can't be rough and force them to stop fighting like I do with the people at the guild. The older dragons might try to kill me if I do that, so I walked over to the three and I quickly took the cake from them.

"Stop fighting, you three," I told them, they looked at me then the cake. I set it down and I re-equipped a knife and cut the cake evenly into three pieces. I took out a third plate and placed a cake on my old plate, I had already finished my cake, and another piece on the third plate, I handed each plate to a dragon and the three of them ate their pieces. I got up and went over to Lucy after the three of them had finished eating and they went off to play with each other.

"You made a good choice by splitting up the cake," Lucy told me.

"You were testing me, why," I asked her.

"I heard that you can be a bit physical when it comes to stopping fights, so I wanted to see if you could stop a fight without being forceful," she explained.

"Is that why you told me she loved sweets?" I asked.

"No, I wanted to stop them from fighting the moment they started but then I wanted to see what you would do," she told me.

"So, it was a spur of the moment type thing?" I asked, she nodded and walked closer to the red dragon that she shared her cell with. I walked over to the others and beat Gray up, who had started to strip. I started to think about these dragons, and more importantly Lucy.

'Lucy Heartfilia, just what are you to these dragons? The younger ones treat you like their older sister, the older dragons seem to listen and respect you. You share a cell with their leader, so what are you to them,' I continued to think of questions about the woman, and her involvement with the pack of dragons, and it brought me back to one question.

'What are the Dragon Tamers to the dragons?'

------------------------

I think that, that is a good chapter, but I didn't really like that ending, what do you think?

Something you should know about Wendy, Sting, and Rouge as dragons is that Wendy is the size of a small dog like a Shiba Inu. Maybe she is big enough to be the size of a large lap dog, while Sting and Rouge are like Dobermann size. I can't find good comparisons, but Wendy is big enough to cover your whole lap and Sting and Rouge are big enough to where you can lay your head on their stomach like a pillow.

11/9/2020 - The dragons in my story don't get any real growth spurts until they are 16-18 years old, that is why while Gajeel and the rest of the older dragons are huge, Sting and the younger dragons are small.

Sorry for my terrible comparisons and I hope that you did enjoy this chapter.
