Chapter Two

James sat in his plump office chair, glaring at Mitchell. He was trembling over his Alpha's gaze, but it was deserved. Melanie stood behind James, her hand resting on his shoulder in an attempt to calm him, but it wasn't working. He was angry and angry plus wolf didn't mix well.

"Explain. Now!" James growled, his powerful voice echoing through the office.

Mitchell shivered, the power of the Alpha flowing through his bloodstream. He looked up at the Alpha, his light blue eyes filled with fear.

"I-I..." He stuttered, unable to fathom words. He cleared his throat, before looking into the storming eyes of his Alpha. "There's a rumour."

Melanie's eyes flashed. "You're basing your theory of an innocent she-wolf over one rumour?!"

She was snarling, raging on the inside, and Mitchell could feel it through his sensitive skin.

"The rumour is that of the disappearance of the Moon Pack." Mitchell said, and James leaned back in shock.

"The Moon Pack was wiped out years ago." James stated, his eyes dimming slightly.

Mitchell shook his head. "Wiped out by a lone wolf, a female, with fur like the moon..."

Melanie snapped her head to James. "The she-wolf has a silver coat..."

James leaned forward, his forearms resting against the wooden table. "Are you saying that the she-wolf wiped out the entire Moon Pack?"

Mitchell nodded his head. "Yes Alpha."

"Yet this is based off a rumour." Melanie snarled. James turned around to face her, eyes softening slightly.

"You were captured by the gaze of Jane Wolf. You're a Luna, and only I should have that effect on you. She's powerful, and it could refer to how she wiped out that pack." James said, running a hand through his golden locks.

"We don't even know if it was Jane or not!" Melanie cried, but she noted how James sounded. Desperate. Ashamed. Sad.

"I swear on my life Luna, this is the same wolf." Mitchell vowed. "The description is the exact same."

James snapped his head to Mitchell. "If this is the wrong wolf, then your life will end, do you understand?"

Mitchell shivered again, but he nodded.

James looked down upon his Beta. "Then it's settled. We're leaving Jane Wolf." He ordered, and both Melanie and Mitchell bowed their heads.

The brunette child backed away from the Alpha's office door slowly, the information she just heard alarmed her. Her green eyes watered, knowing the outcome.

They're leaving her.

Bella ran down the stairs of the lair, running to one of her friends. He had light blonde hair and big blue eyes. When he saw Bella, he smiled, eyes sparkling.

"Hey Bella!" He said, ignoring the others that were in front of him.

"Carter, they're not going to save her!" Bella cried, eyes threatening to spill over on to her innocent face.

Carter frowned. "They're not going to save who?"

"The she-wolf at the zoo! They're not going to save her!" Bella cried again, her brown hair whipping around as she shook her head in shock.

Carter's blue eyes widened, and the others around him did too, before one of them laughed. Carter chuckled, and soon everyone was cracking up laughing.

Bella looked shocked at her supposed friend. "Carter?" She whispered, not believing what she was hearing.

"Bella, there aren't any werewolves at Central Park Zoo! Don't be stupid." Carter snapped, smirking at his other friends. They nodded encouragingly at him, Carter having the feeling of respect enter his small body.

Bella's lip trembled, and a tear rolled out of her green eyes. "You don't b-believe me." She stuttered.

Carter snorted. "Of course not! Werewolves are strong; they won't get captured by petty humans."

Bella gasped, stepping back as though he slapped her. Carter's eyes flashed with regret, but Bella shook her head.

"Goodbye Carter." She whispered, before sprinting off. Carter called out her name, but she ignored it.

She was going to get that she-wolf out, whether they believed in her or not.

Bella ran out the doors of the mansion, sprinting into the woods, her inner self instantly coming forward to help guide her through her second home, to the first piece of transport. The little girl's brown hair caught to the leaves, twigs attaching to her clothes.

Her green eyes glowed as her beast emerged, showing her the way to the transport. The girl ran out of the woods, barely panting, and ran towards the train station. She ducked under security, over the metal scanners, and jumped on the train.

Her eyes dimmed, looking over at everyone, who was looking at her in awe.

"Are you alright sweet-heart?" A woman asked, and Bella cringed as her perfume attacked her nose. The woman bent down, picking out some of the leaves and twigs from her hair. The girl looked at the woman, recognition filling her eyes.

"You're the guide!" Bella said, smiling. "The one at Central Park Zoo!"

The woman's eyes widened, and she blushed. "Yes, that's me."

Bella's beast whispered an idea in her mind, and the girl agreed with her. "Can I stay with you?"

The woman's jaw dropped, the pungent smell of her bad breath seeping through Bella's nose. The woman looked around at everyone else, who were silently nodding their heads at her.

The woman looked back to the girl. "What about your family?" She asked, still crouching in front of the young werewolf.

Bella's lip trembled as she remembered Carter's reaction. "It was all a l-lie." She whispered, tears spilling over her eyes.

The woman's human eyes softened, and she gave the pup a hug. Bella's nose screamed at her as the terrible smells of everyone on the train entered her nose, but she held it together.

"I'll take care of you, okay?" The woman said, leaving the embrace and putting her hands on her tiny shoulders. "You can come and help me out at the Zoo."

Bella smiled. A way... "T-Thank you... um... what's your name?" She asked, blushing slightly.

The woman chuckled. "My name is Abigail, but you can call me Gail."

The girl smiled. "My name is Isabella Woods, but you can call be Bella."
