iii. you rang?

SAM WINCHESTER STOOD in the back of Bobby's junkyard, with his arms tucked away in his jacket pockets. He looked up to the sky, and called out, "Ariel?" Sam remembered how she said she would drop everything to be with them if they prayed to her. "It's Sam. Do you think you can head over? We found new information."
Ariel, in heaven, heard his words, and immediately pushed the work sitting on her desk away from her body. She then stood up and transported herself to the Winchester's location.
The man, back on Earth, heard the familiar sound of wings flapping, and turned to see Ariel behind him with her eyes scanning their surroundings. "You rang?" She smirked as she turned to face him. Sam nodded his head before beckoning her to follow him back towards the rickety house. A smile danced on her lips as she went to pursue, but something caught her attention.
An unknown entity was suddenly felt by the archangel, and it made the hair on the back of her neck stick up. She instantly turned to face it with the angel blade already in her hands, pointed in its direction. This presence was simply tactile, and she could not seem to lay her eyes on it.
She shook off her uneasy feeling before catching up to the Winchester.

THE ANGEL SAT across from the eldest Winchester at the kitchen table, much to his dismay. Ariel could never understand why Dean disliked her as much as he did. She knew that it wasn't her fault, just simply something she was to take the blame for when someone else couldn't. The archangel of nature was determined to alter his mindset of her, into a more positive outlook.
Sam stood hunched over, glancing at all the items lying in the fridge. As Ariel went to turn her attention back to the house plant she was looking at, the all too familiar sound of wings flapping was heard from beside her. Ariel glanced back over towards Sam, only to see her brother, Balthazar, standing behind him with a rather annoyed expression on his face.
"Drinking your feelings, Sam? I thought that was your brother's bag." The male angel said, as Sam pulled out a beer bottle from the back of the fridge.
Sam cracked open the drink and muttered, "Stressful times."
Balthazar turned his attention to the rest of the group in the small kitchen. "We need to talk."
Ariel furrowed her eyebrows. "Why?"
"Because — I know I'm gonna live to regret this — but I'm officially on your team, you bastards."
"And we should believe you why?" Dean asked.
Ariel abruptly stood from her chair, causing the sound of wood scratching to erupt throughout the kitchen. She then stalked over to her brother with narrowed eyes. As she circled the proximity around him, it was clear to see she was studying him while not removing her gaze. "He's definitely not lying." She pointed out.
Balthazar rolled his eyes. "It's survival. You see, I asked Cas some questions and I disliked his answers. He seems awfully full of himself for a man that wants to swallow a million of nuclear reactors. I mean, these things can get a bit Chernobyl, you know? So, voilà. Consider me your double agent. Oh, and I took the liberty of searching for your friends. Uh, took a while. Crowley's a clever one."
"You found them?" Dean asked, glancing between Sam and the male angel in the room.
"Well, the upside is yes. The downside is no, I can't get them for you." Balthazar said, his shoulders slumping slightly.
"Why not?" The female angel asked with furrowed eyebrows as she stood to the side with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Because Crowley's angel-proofed the whole bloody building. I guess he doesn't trust Cas. Seems that marriage is going swimmingly." Balthazar chuckled.
Ariel took in a deep and muttered, "Damn." She wanted nothing more than to help Dean get back his love and her son. Ariel knew that another opportunity to help change the eldest Winchester's thoughts on her may never come again.
"Okay, we'll get us up as close as you can." Dean said, standing from his chair.
"Sure, but then you're on your own." Balthazar said. "Ariel?" He added, nodding his head in Dean's direction.
Ariel walked over to the oldest of the Winchesters, and placed two fingers on his forehead. She allowed her angel grace to flow through her, her eyes closed shut.
Once she opened them again, the four of them stood in front of a warehouse that looked quite empty. "Alright boys, and Ariel, this is where I get off. May God be with you, and what have you." Balthazar stated. The sound of wings flapping was hear throughout the area, signaling the male angel's departure.
"Alright boys-" Ariel started but was cut off from Dean simply walking past her, pushing her right shoulder back in the process. She turned to glare at him before noticing that he was killing a male demon that was approaching, and probably would've killed her instead.
"You were saying?" Sam asked as his brother rejoined the three once again.
"I was going to say, that this is where I depart back to heaven. I wish you good luck on your journey, and I am sorry that I am not joining you on this mission." Ariel paused and grabbed the knife that lay tucked away behind her belt. "Take this. It should boost the statistics of you actually making it out alive."
Dean hesitatingly grabbed the angel blade from Ariel. "Yeah, thanks."
The angel bid the brothers a farewell, and then sound of flapping wings deemed her evacuation.

"ARIEL? HEY, WE'RE out, a-and we need, uh, some help." Sam called out, breaking all of Ariel's thoughts. Immediately she teleported herself to the brothers' location. She was shocked to suddenly appear in the back seat of a stolen car.
Upon her arrival, the four people in the vehicle jumped. "Sorry." She muttered before sending a look of sympathy to Sam, who swerved on the road slightly.
"Ariel! Thank God. You have to help her. Heal her, please!" Dean cried out. Ariel whipped her head to the right to see him almost in tears, and a woman on his lap. She was in such bad shape, but Ariel's boss up in heaven, Naomi, prevented her from interfering with anything. Naomi was sending signals to the archangel, forbidding her from making a rash decision.
"Dean." The angel sighed. "I w-want to! But I can not heal her."
"Why the hell not?" Dean boomed.
It was clear Ariel was in distress when she pressed a hand to her forehead, and her eyebrows furrowed together. It was as if something had overcome her when she suddenly became extremely calm. She replied, "Because it will alter the course of the future in a terrible way. I am not allowed to help, or I would lose my grace. . . All I can do is take away her pain."
Dean groaned loudly before rubbing circles in Lisa's arm to try and soothe her. "Just do it!"
Without a moment's delay, Ariel grabbed ahold of the other woman, Lisa's, hand. A yellow aura seemed to encase the two as the angel removed all discomfort from the woman's body. Upon Lisa's body relaxing, Ariel withdrew her hand, and gave the woman and Dean a sympathetic look.
Luckily, the Oakville Memorial Hospital came faster than anybody thought. The whole crew clobbered out of the car and rushed inside. Ariel and Sam took a seat in the waiting room while Dean, Lisa and Ben were taken into a room.
"I am feeling something." Ariel mumbled quietly. Angels were constructed not to feel anything at all. "Sorrow." She added. "It is called sorrow." Her eyes were trained onto the floor as her mind wandered off to think about all the consequences coming for her.
Sam didn't break his gaze with the painting on the wall across from him. "You shouldn't have to. It's your job to follow the rules. God forbid you got your grace taken away." He sent a reassuring smile down towards her.
"You're-" Ariel started but was cut off from another presence filling the room. The entrance doors of the waiting area swung open, almost by themselves. A man in a trench coat stalked into the room, determination clear on his face. Ariel saw the halo that sat above his head, and scrunched her eyebrows together. She immediately stood from her seat and walking towards him. "Ariel!" Castiel said, arms outstretched and a smirk on his face.
Ariel snarled at him and she grabbed his arm, pulling him into the hallway. "What are you doing here, Castiel?"
"I am doing Dean a favor." He paused. "And I came to speak with you."
Ariel sighed. "Then speak, brother."
"You do not trust me with my business. Your mind practically screams it."
"Can you blame me? It is my job to keep humans safe." She yelled, capturing the attention of some of the visitors.
"Why can you not see that I am trying to stop Crowley, not join him?"
Ariel scoffed. "I had a vision. Whatever you are planning to do, will have a fatal ending and will cause chaos. I am here to do my job and stop you."
"And why exactly are you bringing the Winchesters into this?" Castiel asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Actually, you brought them into this. I just came to them for some help." Ariel paused. "We're done here."
Before the male angel could speak, Ariel was snapping her fingers. The sound of wings flapping erupted, causing her to disappear from sight. Castiel groaned loudly and threw his head back in frustration. He too teleported out of the hospital building.
