ii. a sign of dedication!

ARIEL, ACCOMPANIED BY the two Winchesters, and Bobby Singer, were strolling down an alley of a nearby town. The eldest male of them all explained that a woman named Eleanor, was there to meet them. The angel began to believe that the Winchester boys were finally beginning to trust her, even if it was only a little bit at a time.
"Where is she?" Dean asked, glancing around. Ariel, as he said this, stepped in a mud puddle with her boots, causing her to crinkle her nose up in disgust. Her extremely dirty surroundings were not very present to the angel, but she trudged one nevertheless.
Bobby spoke up next, "She said to meet her here. I'll try her again." He held his cellphone in his hand, and dialed a number, before pressing it towards his ear.
The ringing of a smartphone around them, caught all of their attentions fairly quickly. Ariel teleported herself to the source immediately, seeing a blonde woman cowering on the floor beside a dumpster. The three men scrambled to her side.
"Hey." The woman croaked out. "I guess I could've used your help after all." Without her superhuman hearing, Ariel was sure that she would not have been able to hear this woman, who the angel connected in her mind to be Eleanor.
Bobby dropped to his knees to inspect her wounds. "Just be still." He gushed.
"What happened?" Ariel asked, studying each of the other woman's wounds.
The woman let out a cough. "They took me." She paused. "I got away." Ariel shuddered. Castiel and Crowley were running a business that would only bring destruction. Once the woman opened her coat, and revealed a nasty wound, Ariel let out a shaky breath.
"Oh, Ellie. What have they done to you?" Bobby asked in a sorrowful tone.
Eleanor chuckled. "Everything. The demon I could have handled. But when the angel stepped in, I — " She stopped for a moment. "I told him, Bobby. They have enough to crack Purgatory wide open."
"Tell me." Bobby spoke. "I need to know."
"They need virgin blood. That's a milk-run for them. And they need the blood of a Purgatory native, and well, they've got plenty of that now." Eleanor stated.
Ariel, not being able to take the woman's painful expressions anymore, reached her hand over to Elenor and gripped her hand tightly. The angel's eyes lit up blue as her grace flowed into the woman, overtaking the discomfort. Eleanor intook a sharp breath as Ariel relieved her of all the pain. She did not heal her wounds. She just made the journey to the after life a little more enjoyable.
"Have they opened it yet?" Dean asked once Ariel was finished.
Eleanor shook her head. "Tomorrow. The moon — an eclipse. I'm sorry, Bobby."
"No, It's okay. It's okay." Bobby spoke, sending a smile to the woman. A smile of pity, Ariel deemed.
"I'm sorry, really sorry — " Eleanor began, but was soon cut off from Bobby speaking once again.
"Tell us where they are." Bobby spoke with importance. Though there was no reply. Ariel watched the life leave her eyes, and Eleanor's soul float up towards heaven. It was a beautiful, yet tragic sight for the angel. She let out a sigh. Ariel hated everything that had to deal with any human dying. It was her mission to protect them. Each and every one of them.
"El?" Bobby asked. He reached his hand over and closed her eyes, shuddering slightly. Ariel reached down and placed her hands on his shoulders, as a motive of comfort.
Suddenly, the familiar sound of wings flapping erupted throughout. Castiel appeared behind Ariel, his hand resting on her shoulder. Immediately, she shook her shoulder, causing his hand to cascade off.
"I'm sorry this had to happen. Crowley got carried away." Castiel stated as everybody turned to face him. Ariel crossed her arms over her chest and threw a glare in his direction.
Bobby rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I bet it was all Crowley you son of a bitch!" He roared. Bobby lunged his body in the male angel's direction, but both Sam and Dean grabbed him before he could do any harm.
Dean pointed a finger at Castiel. "You don't even see it, do you? How totally off the rails you are!" He yelled.
"Enough! I don't care what you think. I've tried to make you understand. You won't listen. So let me make this simple. Please, go home and let me stop Raphael. I won't ask again." Castiel boomed.
"Well good 'cause I think you already know the answer." Dean spoke.
Castiel shook his head, "I wish it hadn't come to this. Well rest assured, when this is all over, I will save Sam, but only if you stand down."
"Save Sam from what?" Dean asked as Castiel disappeared from in front of them. Though Ariel was faster. She teleported in between Castiel and Sam, her arms raised to send her brother somewhere else.
Sam, Dean and Bobby turned to see the two angels ready to brawl. Both grabbed their angel blades and pointed it at each other. "Get out of my way, Ariel."
Ariel shook her head. "Do not make me kill you, brother."
Castiel rolled his eyes. He faked a lung to the right, but Ariel saw right through it. As she flew in the wrong direction, her leg kicked at his, and sent him sprawling to the floor. Immediately, Ariel turned and struck with her angel blade. Castiel quickly teleported out of the way, causing her weapon to collide with the concrete floor.
Before anybody had time to react. Castiel was already placing two fingers on Sam's forehead. "No!" Ariel screamed, reaching her hands out. Though it was too late. Sam fell to the floor, unconscious.

DEAN SAT ON a chair beside the bed in Bobby's panic room. Sam lay on it, almost in a sleeping beauty type way. Castiel had busted down the dam inside of the man's head, causing all of his dreadful memories to come flooding back to him.
Due to the angel-warding placed around the room, Ariel was forced to loom in from behind the doorway. Bobby soon approached the trio. "Anything?" He asked, glancing at Sam and then Dean.
"I can't just sit here, Bobby. I've got to help him." Dean mumbled. "You know, dreamscape his noggin. Something."
"You know what Cas did. The dam inside you brother's head is gone and all hell's breaking loose. We don't know what's going on inside." Bobby yelled.
"I don't care. We have got to do something!" Dean raised his voice. Ariel sighed.
Bobby took a step forward. "And we will but right now we got sixteen hours 'til they pop Purgatory. I'm down one man. I can't afford to be down two."
"Yeah, and how's that going, huh? We've got no line on Crowley. We got no line on Cas. Balthazar's MIA. I mean, all we've got is Sam, going through whatever the hell this is!"
Ariel straightened her posture and exclaimed, "This is exactly what Castiel wants. He wants all of you to fall to pieces so he can finish his job. We need to keep moving."
Dean, taking in her words, turned his attention to Bobby. "Find Cas, Bobby. Find him now."

ARIEL HAD DECIDED, shortly after, to teleport herself back to heaven. She knew that Bobby and Dean would only have any use for her when it was time to blast them to their location.
Once she did get the prayer from Dean, Ariel buzzed herself there as fast as she could. She landed in the middle of the living room, directly in front of the two men. "Alright. Blast us there."
Ariel nodded her head and raised her fingers and touched their foreheads. The grace moved inside of her, causing Ariel to close her eyes. Once she opened them, the trio stood directly in front of a warehouse that seemed completely abandoned.
"Alright — " Dean started, but Ariel stopped listening. Something was causing her to feel a large pull to go back to Bobby's home. She gripped her chest and furrowed her eyebrows. It was as if someone had tied a rope around her stomach and was pulling her back to the rickety old house.
"I must go." She announced, which caused Dean and Bobby to focus their attentions solely on her.
"What? Why?" Bobby asked.
Ariel scrunched up her face in confusion, for she had no clue on what was happening to her. "I — I do not know. I need to go back. I must go back." She spoke, groaning. The desire had become almost unbearable.
"Ok? We can handle — "
"Great! I will watch over Sam." Ariel said.
And then she was teleported out of there and back at the house. She left both Bobby and Dean confused on what had happened. But it wasn't just them. Ariel had never experienced something quite like this. It was almost as if someone had bounded her.

SAM AWOKE FROM his slumber with a large jolt. He panted heavily as he looked around the small room for any sign of his family. The only thing that he noticed was a gun sitting on top of a small sheet of paper. He picked up the paper, and began to scan over the instructions left by his older brother. As he did so, Ariel finally made an appearance. Her two large, magnificent golden wings outstretched from her back as she glanced down at the newspaper in her hands. Sam gaped in awe at the sight.
"A-Ariel? I thought you were supposed to be with Bobby and Dean. That's what this paper says, at least." Sam spoke. His voice was scratchy due to being out of use for so long.
The angel let out a gasp and cried out, "Sam!" She then went to rush into the panic room, but the angel-proof barrier prevented her from doing so. The impact sent her flying back, and causing her to collide with the cold floor. Letting out a groan, she stood and gripped her head tightly, forcing the pain to melt away. "It's complicated." She muttered.
"I thought that if you had your wings out, it was a sign of dedication or something." Sam spoke with a confused tone, going to stand up from the bed.
Ariel scoffed. "Do not get too excited. They were aching, and you were asleep." She muttered, turning and walking up the stairs. Sam followed close behind. "Get ready! We are going to help Bobby and Dean." Ariel called down the stairs. Sam let out a sigh.
That was going to be a long night.

THE TWO OF them teleported in front of the same warehouse that Ariel dropped off Dean and Bobby. "This is it." She muttered, taking in every aspect of the rundown building. Though as she began to walk towards it, Sam groaned very loudly and gripped his head. Ariel jumped to his side, trying to see if she could help in any way.
"I'm okay. I'm okay." He reassured. Ariel was still a little skeptical.
Sam and Ariel fought their way through the demon-infested building, hoping to find the whereabouts of Bobby and Dean. Upon hearing the voice of the eldest Winchester, the two were lead to a lab in the back of the warehouse. Ariel snapped her fingers, and caused the door to open in silence.
"Listen to me. Listen, I know there's a lot of bad water under the bridge, but we were family once. I'd have died for you. I almost did a few times. So if that means anything to you... Please. I've lost Lisa, I've lost Ben, and now I've lost Sam. Don't make me lose you too. You don't need this kind of juice anymore, Cas. Get rid of it before it kills us all." Dean spilled out. His monologue gave Ariel and Sam enough time to slowly creep down the stairs without drawing attention to themselves.
Castiel scoffed. "You're just saying that because I won. Because you're afraid. You are not my family, Dean. I have no family." With his focused directed on Bobby and Dean, it gave Sam the ability to pick up the fallen knife that he almost stepped on.
The two wasted no time in rushing up to the male angel and stabbing him with both of their blades. Though Castiel didn't flinch as Sam and Ariel backed away. Castiel pulled both the knives out of his back with a smirk plastered onto his face. Ariel let out a loud gasp as her brother dropped the blades, and watched them clatter against the floor.
"I'm glad you made it, Sam and Ariel. But the angel blades won't work, because I am not an angel anymore. I am your new God. A better one. So you will bow down and profess your love unto me, your Lord. Or I shall destroy you." Castiel smirked. Sam and Ariel cowered in fear under the used-to-be angel. There was no way that they were getting out of that situation alive.
