Once we got back to the Penthouse I saw the scars on Cato's face. They weren't that noticeable, but they stuck out to me. We ate a little lunch, but I wasn't that hungry. I was nervous about what people would say when they found out we were alive.
"There is no need to worry about the interview. It won't be shown to the people in the districts." Effie said and I stayed silent. Snow wants us for something not just to work for him. I shook it off and excused myself from the table. I walked into my room and looked at the outfit I had to wear. Cato hadn't seen it yet and I'm just nervous about everything. Announcing we're still alive to the Capitol will start riots. I got dressed in the outfit I was supposed to and went into the bathroom to do my hair and makeup. I smiled at the way I looked. I put on my heels and walked into the room they were waiting for me in. Cato took a double take at me. I smiled and so did he. Cato had on a very nice looking suit. Effie smiled.
"Come on lovebirds, we have an interview to get to." She stated and we followed her out. On the way Cato took my hand in his. I blushed a bit and looked down at me feet. Once we got to the place we were gonna have the interview, Effie smiled.
"Like the Games you can both see what the other is doing during their interview on the screen." Effie said and I nodded.
"Now let me introduce you two the two kids we thought would win next to Katniss and Peeta. They came back from the dead, Clove and Cato!" Caesar said and the crowd went nuts. We walked out onto the stage hand in hand. People whistled at us. We greeted Caesar with hugs and sat down.
"I see that you two are closer, but are you couple?" Caesar asked.
"Yes, we are and very happy." Cato said and the crowd awed.
"Any future plans for you two?" He asked.
"I was hoping." I piped up and Cato smiled.
"I agree with that, Clover Flower." Cato stated and he barely called me that in front of people.
"We the people of Panem are looking forward to this, truly." Caesar said.
"Thank you." I said.
"After the break we will have a one on one with Clove." Caesar stated.
"Good luck Clover Flower. I'll be watching." Cato said giving me a peck on the cheek before leaving.
"We're back with Clove. Now tell me, has Cato purposed to you?" Caesar asked.
"No... but I certainly hope so." I stated. "So are we. How did you feel watching Cato being ripped to shreds by those mutts?" Caesar asked and tears started to well in my eyes.
"I was distraught. I broke down right in front of President Snow. I was so embarrassed. But you know Snow, he was so kind enough to cheer me up by letting Cato be with me. And I truly thank him for that." I stated as tears ran down my cheeks. Caesar handed me a tissue.
"It's a hard topic for us all indeed. How about you, Clove. How are you looking forward to living in the Capitol instead of your district?" He asked.
"I think it will do me good. I feel like it will let me be me in a society that let's me." I said.
"I understand. Being in the Districts can be hard. So many rules, but now you can finally be a citizen of the Capitol." Caesar stated.
"I'm so excited for my new life in the Capitol! It's like I can start over in a better place." I exclaimed and Caesar nodded.
"I'm glad you think so. Clove everybody!" Caesar exclaimed and I said my goodbyes as I exited the stage passing Cato.
"Good luck." I said and he nodded. I walked over to Effie.
"You did perfect! Now let's watch Cato." She stated and we did.
"So Cato, what made you not get Thresh off of Clove?" Caesar asked.
"I was in shock... I mean I didn't know what to do. It all happened so fast. She called my name as I did her." Cato said.
"We all saw what you did afterwards. You held her until what you thought was her death. Then to take revenge you kill Thresh." Caesar stated.
"I did kill Thresh to avenge Clove... but I never really meant to hurt anyone. If she wasn't alive, neither was I." Cato remarked as a tear ran down his cheek.
"It was a sad time. On a lighter note, this is just between you and me. Are you gonna ask Clove to marry you?" Caesar asked.
"Cover your eyes and ears." Effie said and I shut my eyes and put my hands over my ears. I couldn't make out anything he was saying. Effie soon pulled my hands off my ears and I opened my eyes.
"What do you think your future is in the Capitol?" Caesar asked.
"I think I'll be living the good life with a wife and hopefully two kids." Cato noted and it made me smile.
"I hope your wish comes true. And just one more question. Do you still have feelings for Glimmer even after her passing?" Caesar asked.
"I love her, but I also love Clove. It's different." Cato said and I walked out in tears. Effie tried to stop me, but it was already too late. I walked in tears all the way to the Penthouse. I can't believe him. I changed my clothes and crawled into bed in the late afternoon. I can't believe him.
