I felt like I was walking for hours exhaustion clouding my steps. Suddenly a tumble of rocks sound above and a bunch of armed men surround me, there eyes glistening with violence and determination. I stood motionless, all exhaustion let out of me. One of the men (probably the biggest also fattest) lunged forward fast and at that moment I thought all was lost. Just then, before he struck, a shadow loomed over them making the man hesitate for a second. The shadow flew over our heads and landed next to the man revealing another man but with a staff and a dark hood, his face unseen. Now, ready, I grip for my long curved silver blades and stand in a stance of warning. But instead of what I thought would happen, the newcomers approach was to the big man. He lashed out with his staff frighteningly and hit him with swift blows to the neck. The man lay bleeding on the rocks fury, changed to something I couldn't make out. He stumbled forward then to bash down to the ground. The men that had surrounded me suddenly split up and yowled warnings to each other then ran off down the steep cliff sides. I hold out my blades in defence in case the hooded man attacked me.

"Who are you!?" I shout in a sudden rage to what happened.

"Who were they and who are you and what are you doing?" I demand.

"Questions later youngster". He answered with a strange accent.

"You have much to learn", then added, "Bella right?"

I stumble upon words in surprise as he said that.

"Uh uh uh....um yeah...yeah, uh how do ya know?" I asked quietly.

"I said questions later, now follow."

Without word, he spun around and climbed up a steep cliff. I follow him with caution in case it was a trick.

So much time had passed on their trek through the Rocky Mountains and so I also decided it wasn't a trap because once I tripped over the edge, he helped me up and did so each time. There were so many slopes and climbs and soon after, our hands were red with cold and blood. A small whimper sounded from my bag and I stop to check. The man stopped at the same time and leaned his staff on a short cliff face.

"Wassat?" He asked almost spitting.

"It's a young wolf that I saved err..... after it attacked me..." I trailed off realising how awkward I sounded.

"It's fine, I know how you feel about that little eh problem earlia." He reassured me.

Even though he did, I wasn't convinced. I knew there was something else I didn't know for sure yet and he was hiding. Each time I asked a question like, "Where are we going?" Or "Who are you?" And stuff like that, he'd just say, "Questions later youngster." So instead of asking again, I look inside my bag to see the young wolf had its eyes open and wasn't staring at me with as much ferocity as before. To my surprise, it held a paw up and tapped on my hand twice then a shocking thing happened. A spark appeared and cracked through my arm where the wolf touched. I gazed struck with confusion. The man took his hood off and unravelled his cloth that he was carrying as a backpack. Inside it I noticed a two shining gold teeth and a key ring in a the same form of creature as the one on my long blades or you could call them daggers. He padded forward and patted the wolf gently on the head and it slowly started nodding itself to sleep.

"W-wha-a?" I stuttered nervously.

"That youngster, is magic, and I am here to be yer mentor." He said to me.

I'm His words "magic" and "mentor" made me shudder. Who is he and what does he mean by being my mentor?

I few more long hours went by as we travelled through long stretches of mountains going so continuously that you would think it never ends. I peer over the edge and realise that we were close to the ground down bellow. The man followed my gaze then to my relief, let me down a narrow slope towards the ground. Once we reached the ground, I flopped down on the grass ignoring the pains in my back, hands, wrists and all that sorta stuff.

"Um... where are we off to now?" I questioned curiously.

"You'll see real soon." He answered back.
I got back up on my feet and followed him cautiously.

The young wolf in my bag started whimpering again so this time a carried him out and signaled to the man to stop for awhile.

"That beast could be a real pain." He pointed out.

"To look after?" I asked in return.

"Nah youngster. I mean it could be a pain for ehh well, the enemy."

I let the wolf sniff around for a bit then I decided that I would name it.

"I want to name it" I said half to myself.

It clearly surprised the man because he turned straight at me as if startled and for the first time he looked me right in the eye. His eyes were a greenish blue color and his hair was grey with age. Then his surprise faded into amusement.

"Ahhh, youngsters these days. When I was one o' you youngsters, I used to be like that, basically namin' anythin' I wanna name ehh. Those fun ol' times. Well I had a name in mind already youngster, Roy I think would be a great name for that young un'. Cute little thing ain't it?"

He fixed me with a gentle gaze that reassured me.

"It's a great name!" I answered with a surprising amount of enthusiasm.

Soon later I carried Roy and then we continued our continuous journey to wherever. As though I already new that we were here, I ran blindly on ahead surprised when the man said that I was standing write at the entrance to something when I had stopped.

"We're here at last." He told me looking relieved as he puffed and leaned his staff against a stone wall.

I look directly at Roy then to what appeared to be a door.

"Are we going through that door." I asked jumping around too impatient to wait.

But to my surprise he said something which I found quite odd,

"You can see that door youngster....but only people with magic can..." He stared thoughtfully at the ground then shouted, "My own mentor was right! You do have the power!"

The power? Has he gone mad?
