Chapter 9

When Sebastian landed in the demon realm, the whole place was deadly silent.

'Something isn't right.' Sebastian thought, looking around at the buildings.

A small demon boy ran in front of him with a girl right on his tail, laughing. "You there! Where is everyone?" He called to them.

The girl turned around, her pink eyes blazing for a moment. "There's to be a battle in the town square! There's not a moment to lose!!" She continued running after the boy, forgetting all about the encounter.

Sebastian's eyes flashed as well before he started running towards the town square, somehow just knowing I would be there.

When he reached the crowd, he pushed his way past, ignoring the dirty looks from those who recognized him, until he reached the front lines where he recognized me being pinned to the ground by three members of the demon council. "NO!!" He shouted, running towards them, but two other members grabbed him and held his arms. "That's my daughter!! Let her go!!!"

Those who didn't know Sebastian gasped in disgust and started to mumble. The main leader turned to Sebastian. "This one," He announced, pointing at me as I squirmed with my eyes glowing fuchsia, "has killed one of her own, and is the daughter of a despicable filthy human and a low-life whoring demon."

His speech earned a few hoots and hollers from the crowd. "Not only is she guilty of murder, but she is an impossible, and quite illegal being that must be punished before she is sentenced to death." He turned back to where the other members forced me to my knees. "Her punishment requires lashings with the Khsaetei Arok."

"Leave her alone!!!" Sebastian yelled angrily, thrashing in the member's arms.

I grinned at Sebastian. "Now I can escape."

The same wind that poured into me suddenly spewed out of my mouth. But before it could go anywhere it turned into the Lady in the Window and two other members grabbed her as she thrashed around. "Let me go!! She's the one you want!!"

I blinked my wine-red eyes twice before looking up at my father. "D... Daddy?"

Sebastian looked at me with horror filled eyes. "It's alright, (F/n)! I'm gonna save you!"

"Hit them until they admit to their crimes." The leader ordered the members.

"Let her go!! She doesn't deserve this!!" Sebastian shouted, throwing all of his strength into trying to escape.

The guards who held the whips raised them into the air before swiftly bringing them down against mine and the lady in the window's backs. The searing pain that splintered through my body caused me to scream out but was drowned out by the cheers of the crowd. Sebastian bellowed louder and louder with each lash against my back. I looked up at him with tear filled eyes. "D-Daddy!!! Please! Make it stop!!"

The Lady in the Window was hanging limply and was simply staring at the ground as if she couldn't feel a thing. Even as the men whipped her, she wouldn't move; wouldn't show any emotion.

As the men whipped me again, I saw a tear fall from my father's eyes. My face turned hot and my eyes started glowing. Black tendrils whipped out from my fingertips, causing the men to drop me. I stood up on shaking legs, my whole body screaming in agony. Everyone got quiet as I spoke. "Y... You made my father hurt... even more than I hurt now..." I grit my teeth and screamed, "YOU'LL ALL PAY FOR THIS!!!"

The black shadows broke out and snatched every member of the council off of the ground. The Lady in the Window dropped to the ground, but didn't dare move.

When my eyes and the shadows turned pure white, the members started to scream in pain. some of them flung dirty curse words at me, others were begging for mercy.

The crowd, realizing that this was not a joke, started running away. Sebastian just stood there, staring at me, unable to move.

"You will never make my father cry again. SAY IT!!!" I ordered them.

Once each of them said it, the white smoke dropped them and shot back into my fingertips. My eyes went back to normal as I glared at the council. "If we ever want to come back, you will be welcoming. Not hateful."

I turned to the Lady in the Window and walked over to her. She finally looked up at me, fear darkening her eyes. I simply knelt down in the dirt in front of her. "You were my only friend growing up... despite trying to use me as a means of travel... So I will let you live, but know this. If I ever see you again, it will be the last time you take a breath."

I walked away from her without seeing her reaction and took Sebastian's hand. "Let's go home, Daddy." I said, looking at the members one last time.

Just as we disappeared, I faintly heard one of the members whisper, "The true power of a half demon..."

When we appeared back at the Phantomhive manor, Ciel and the servants were standing in the foyer waiting for us. Before any of them could move, the world spun beneath me and I started to fall, but Sebastian caught me.

Everyone called my name, but I couldn't tell what else they were saying. I could barely make out the servant's shocked faces when they saw my back. Ciel quickly backed away from me, covering his mouth from the stench of blood.

I could hear only my heavy breathing just before everything turned black.

When I opened my eyes, I was laying in my bed on my stomach, the room dark save for the streams of moonlight lighting the room from the window. I carefully sat up, pushing through the blinding pain in my back. "D-Daddy?"

'Shh.' I heard someone say in my head.

I blinked, sitting on the side of my bed. "H-Hello?"

The voice quieted me again, but louder and with more force. I looked around the room, trying to find the owner of the voice, but there was no one around.

I suddenly recognized the voice.

Sebastian. My father.

'Where are you?' I asked in my head.

'I'm in the manor, but please be quiet, darling. I will be in to get you soon.' He answered quietly but with urgency.

'What's going on?' I asked, growing ever so worried about him and Ciel.

When he didn't answer for quite some time, I slowly opened the door and peeked into the hallway. I was about to exit my room when an explosion shook the manor and I fell onto the floor, a few of my wounds re-opening. I gave a small cry in pain before looking up to find Finny, Mai-rin, and Bardroy with soot on their faces and clothes. They were each breathing heavily as they stared at me.

Bardroy was the first to speak.

"We need to leave. Now."
