Chapter 4

Sebastian brought me back to my room, but I wouldn't let go of him. "(F/n), it's alright now. You can let go."
I shook my head. "I-I don't want to... What if the m-monster comes back?" I asked, still shaking slightly.
My father chuckled. "If he does, just call. I'll drop everything and come straight to you."
For some reason that made me feel a little better, so I gave him a squeeze and let go. "Wh-When are you coming back?" I asked.
Sebastian checked his pocket watch. "I have to help the young master change, but as soon as I'm done, I will come back to tuck you in."
I nodded and hurriedly stood up in my bed, wrapping my arms around Sebastian's neck. "I love you, daddy..."
Sebastian, caught off-guard, almost stumbled backwards, eyes wide in surprise. After a moment, he smiled and wrapped his arms around me. "I love you too, (F/n)."

Sebastian made his way back to Ciel's room to help him get ready for bed. He was undressing Ciel when the boy smirked. "How do you enjoy having a child grabbing at your pants every five minutes?"
Sebastian's expression stayed the same as he responded. "It's fine. She is not much of a bother." Sebastian grabbed the white dress shirt from the side of the bed, slipping it onto his master. "Does it bother you?"
Ciel looked away, shaking his head. "No. She's fine, as long as I can get my work done, and she stays out of the way."
Sebastian nodded and straightened. "Would you like anything else before you retire?"
Ciel stared at the floor for a moment. "You are keeping her... right?"
His butler gave him a confused look. "Whatever do you mean?"
Ciel hugged his knees to his chest. "You won't give her away... you'll stay with her no matter what?"
Sebastian was silent. 'He's afraid that she will end up like him; parent-less...' Sebastian smiled lightly. "Of course, young master. I shall keep her close to me."
Ciel nodded and laid down in his bed, pulling the covers over himself. "Good. Now get out."

When Sebastian came back into my room, I was over by the window, already in my nightgown, looking out at the stars. I turned around to look at him, smiling. "The Lady in the Window has been very happy that I finally found you. She said that maybe one day you two can meet!"
Sebastian stood by my bed "The Lady in the Window?"
I nodded vigorously, skipping over to where he was "Mhm! She visits me every night to tell me stories! She always likes to include this one really bad sounding character who she usually calls Móguǐ. He's a very bad man who kidnapped someone and forced him to do horrible things to other people. But she always adds me into the story! The bad man tries to take me away from her in most of her stories, but she destroys him easily!" My father laid me down in my bed, his face almost pale. I stopped smiling. "Daddy? What's wrong?"
Sebastian shook his head, and was back to his usual self. "It's nothing. I suppose I just need some rest."
I smiled and patted the bed next to me. "You can lay here with me!" I reached out to take Sebastian's hand, but he quickly pulled it away. My smiled faded away.
"I'm sorry, but I have too much work to be done." He explained, pulling the covers up to my chin. I stayed silent, watching as he smiled. But the smile didn't reach his eyes. "Good night, (F/n)."
I wrapped my tiny hands into fists around the blanket. "G-Good night, daddy..."
Sebastian silently closed the door behind himself, leaning against it, his face growing pale once more. 'Móguǐ... That's Chinese for devil... Whoever the lady in the window is knows who I am.' Sebastian turned his gloved hand into a fist against the door. 'What will (F/n) think when she finds out?' Something in his chest ached. This was a new feeling for him.
The feeling of fear.
The feeling of pure dread and sadness.
'She can't find out... I... I can't lose her...'
