Day One
Today's word: Lucid
It was cold, bright morning. Rays of bright sunlight shone down on the snow covered garden. The grand green topiaries where now frosted with a powdery white covering, adding even more beauty to the elegant works of art. A grand library loomed over the garden, it's spire sticking out or the castle. A beautiful stained glass window opened to the vast outside world, representing the open opportunities. The window has never been closed, nor would it ever be. Inside on the tower was a young student, hurriedly sorting through his papers for the upcoming speech he had to present in front of many different scholars from nearby universities to determine if he would study under them as an apprentice.
He had prepared for this presentation for over four months now, and he promised to himself that he would not let his nerves get to him, for this was very important to both him and the other scholars that would be there, All were extremely lucid figures of authority, almost all of them he looked up to as mentors, for they had all taught him a collection of various different things.
The grand clock behind him rung as he carried his speech with him to the podium that stood on the stage. It was set up in front of rows upon rows of chairs. It was quite an intimidating moment for someone who has only spoken in front of a crowd that was with two-hundred fifty people, and this was four times the size. He tapped his foot in anticipation so he could get this thing over with. After what seemed to be an hour of waiting, a man in a dark suit and red tie walked up onto the stage, looking very professional. "Good after noon, everyone," he said, "Welcome to the annual apprentice conference and thank you for coming to this one of a kind event, for it truly does mean a lot to all of these students. Let's not waste anytime, and let's get right to it. First up we have Caius Williams." The audience clapped as he began to walk off of the stage. This is it, he thought to himself Don't mess this up. He took a deep breath and strolled up to the stage as confidently as he could possibly be. Alright, here we go...
This was actually quite fun to write. Very far off from my best piece of writing, but I kind of like it. I hope you enjoyed it too! And please feel free to give constructive feedback!
