two.

Jungkook was abruptly awoken from his slumber to the sound of someone yelling. He stood up from his bed and slowly padded his feet towards the door of his room. Yet another loud yell filled his ears; that one sounding much closer, almost like the person yelling was in his house. And for all he knew, the person yelling was inside his house. As he reached the doorway to his bedroom, he grabbed a pen off of his work desk for self-defense, if it was needed.

He slipped out of his room, careful to not make any loud footsteps. If he were to be too noisy, the intruder would've heard him and ran off before Jungkook was able to catch the culprit. As he walked down the hallway that lead to the living room, the yelling grew even louder. He clutched the pen tighter in his grasp as he reached the end of the hallway, the only thing separating him from the intruder being the wall he was still hidden behind.

The brunette peeked around the corner to get a quick glance at the intruder, only for his jaw to drop at the sight. There were seven people in his living room; four of which were on the sofas and three of which who were taking turns playing games on his xbox. He should've kept his secrecy and called the cops on the intruders, but he was too upset with the group that he decided to confront them himself; although that wasn't the most intelligent option.

"Hey, who the hell are you and what are you doing in my house?" The brunette yelled as he stomped over to the group of seven. He picked one of the boys that was on the floor by his collar and glared into his eyes.

The person being held by the collar let out a cheery chuckle before reaching a hand up and patting the brunette's head. Jungkook's eyes narrowed at the boy, the grip on his collar tightening. He hadn't a clue who the person was and he was infuriated that they just laid a hand on him, after breaking into his house to play video games.

"Jungkook-ah, you're very forgetful, you know?" One of the males on the couch spoke, his head shaking slightly. "You wanted to actually know us, but now that we're here, you forget who we are." The boy chuckled, shaking his head once again.

The brunette let go of the boy's collar that he was previously holding tightly onto and narrowed his eyes in the direction of the boy on the sofa. "How the hell do you know my name and what the hell are you talking about?" Jungkook crossed his arms over his chest, keeping the pen tucked against him in case he needed to quickly use it - although the more he thought about it, picking a small pen to defend himself against a group of seven wasn't the best idea. Of course, he didn't known there was going to be seven intruders, so it's not exactly his fault.

"We're the characters from that romance book you're writing," the smaller boy next to him replied, a friendly smile gracing his lips. "And we are here to help you finish your book. You need the main two to fall in love, and we're here to help you get to that point. Plus, you get to know us better."

Jungkook stood, frozen in place at the pink-haired boy's words. There was no way that was possible, the people he created for his romance book were only characters. Characters aren't real people, just made-up embodiments of people that do not live and breathe in the actual world - they're fiction and that was it, nothing about them was real in the slightest. I must be dreaming, the brunette sighed internally, I didn't get much sleep last night anyway.

"Yeah, okay, like I'm going to believe that," the brunette rolled his eyes. "Either I'm dreaming that you guys - my fictional characters - are real or you are actual intruders that have read part of my book while I was asleep."

The blonde sitting on the floor beside a boy with red hair looked up at the brunette and shook his head, a wide grin on his lips. "Jungkookie, we are your actual characters - we are here to help with the book. Why don't you believe us?" The blonde pushed out his bottom lip in a pout, which the brunette did his best to ignore.

"Don't call me Jungkookie, first of all," the brunette narrowed his eyes at the blonde before speaking up once again. "And none of you are actually here with me - this is just a dream. I'll have to pinch myself and then I'll wake up, and none of you will be here."

Jungkook closed his eyes and used his free hand to pinch his forearm. He let out a small yelp from the pressure he put into the pinch, but shrugged it off and reopened his eyes. Much to his dismay, the group of seven were still in his living room, each giving him different looks. Some were amused, some confused, some bored and one wasn't paying attention because he was too busy playing the game on the xbox.

"You guys are intruders then, so I want you out before I call the police," the brunette turned and started heading towards the kitchen to get his home phone, only to be stopped by a hand grasping his wrist - it was one of the people sitting on the sofa. Jungkook looked at the boy, narrowing his eyes at him, before bringing the pen out to attack the ravenette.

"Jesus Christ, this kid is evil," the ravenette mumbled as he moved out of the way to avoid getting stabbed by a pen. Jungkook wasn't giving up though, and almost fell over the couch trying to stab the boy with the pen.

The blonde's eyes went wide and he rushed to take action. He ran behind the brunette and grasped his arms around his waist from behind, holding him tightly in place so he wasn't trying to stab the ravenette anymore. Jungkook scoffed and tried to wiggle out of the blonde's grasp, only for the boy to hold him tighter in place.

"Don't hurt Yoongi hyung, Jungkookie," the blonde mumbled into the fabric of the brunette's shirt - he was holding him that tightly and closely. Jungkook scoffed once again and rolled his eyes before choosing not to fight against the blonde who had a very strong grip on him. "Guys, maybe if we introduce ourselves to Jungkookie, he will remember who we are!" The blonde exclaimed as he peeked his head up from behind the brunette's neck.

The rest of the group agreed - the one playing the video game too lost in the system to pay attention to what was going on.

"I'll go first then, since I'm holding you tightly," the blonde let out a small sound that sounded like a mix of a chuckle and a giggle. "I'm Taehyungie - as you refer to me as when you write about me - and I'm the lonely one of the group. I'm the second youngest and most fun to be around."

Jungkook tensed a little bit. Taehyung was certainly one of the characters the brunette wrote about, but the person could just be an intruder who read through the unfinished book - although that doesn't quite explain how he knew that Jungkook called him Taehyungie, because he never wrote that down anywhere, he just says it.

"I'm Hoseok," the boy with orange hair that Jungkook grabbed by the collar earlier spoke up, a wide grin on his face. "I don't mind what you did earlier, I forgive you! You were just confused," the ginger laughed loudly, making the redhead shake their head as a faint smile appeared on their lips.

"I'm Seokjin and he's Namjoon," the pinkette pointed to the green haired boy beside him. "We're the first couple you paired together in your story, and the cutest may I add."

Jungkook rolled his eyes, remembering he made Seokjin's character a very cutesy character that was high and above all; but wasn't rude and was kind instead. Still, that didn't convince him that the people sitting before him were his actual characters.

"Hi Jungkookie," a boy with silver hair grinned widely at the brunette and gave a short wave. "I'm sure you can't forget your favorite character, ChimChim! And don't forget Yoongi hyung, we can never leave out that lazy ball of fluff."

Yoongi scoffed at the silver haired boy's words, but still cuddled against him. That caused the brunette to let out a fake gag, although he wasn't actually disgusted. He did remember making the pairing between Yoongi and Jimin full of cuteness. That didn't completely convince him yet, though, and he was sure that nothing was going to be able to convince him that his characters were alive and in front of him.

"And what about the boy playing the video game? Who's that?" Jungkook asked, raising an eyebrow at the person that was in the midst of playing Left 4 Dead 2.

The person paused the game and quickly turned to face the brunette. "Did you just call me a boy?" They spoke through gritted teeth. Their eyes narrowed at Jungkook, a fierce glare shining through them. "For making me a tomboy for a reason, I thought you would've understood that I am in fact a girl."

"Oh, Kaesi, right?" Jungkook asked awkwardly. He hadn't meant to call Keasi a boy, but she resembled one - especially from the back - so it was hard not to mistake that. "Sorry about that."

"It's whatever; everyone mistakes me for a boy anyway, remember?" Kaesi shrugged and turned her attention back to the video game she was in the midst of playing. "Even Horse over there - the person you're trying to set me up with - thinks I'm a boy. So I'm used to it by now."

Kaesi began to play the game once again as an awkward silence fell over the group, one that nobody knew how to lessen. Well, except Taehyung. "Okay then! Now that we got introductions out of the way, do you believe us, Jungkookie?" The blonde asked, peeking over the brunette's shoulder to look at him.

That question was something he wasn't quite sure of yet. It seemed like they were the characters he created, but he didn't believe that they could actually come to life. After all, they were just a group of nonexistent beings that Jungkook created to be in a plot of his story - they weren't real because of the fact they were just made-up characters.

"Sure," Jungkook answered after a long time of silence. The group of seven cheered - even the redhead - although he noticed how distant she was. He didn't pay much mind to it, though. He was too lost in the fact he just told the group that he believed them to be his characters, when he wasn't so sure of himself.

What did I get myself into?

+ note ; i need to talk about something with this story. it's more about jungkook trying to get his two main characters to fall in love, meaning there's going to be a decent amount of kaeseok to go with the plot. that being said, this story is taekook and along the way of jungkook attempting to get the characters in love, he may or may not find love of his own :)
