three.
+ note ; huge foreshadowing in this part, it's small but it has a lot of meaning. keep an eye out.
Not long after, the cheering settled down and everyone went back to doing their own things. Kaesi was still playing the video game, taking turns with Hoseok and Taehyung every now and then. Namjoon and Seokjin were cuddled up on one end of the couch, making the brunette cringe a bit from their affection in front of six other people. On the other end of the couch, Jimin was pressed against the arm of it, Yoongi fast asleep next to him.
How Jungkook ended up with seven other people in his house, making it much louder than usual, was a question he hadn't known the answer to. All he remembered is falling asleep in the early morning because he was trying to write about the romance between his two main characters. He hadn't a clue how his 'characters' came to life or if the people in his living room were even the characters from his romance novel. Either way, it was a lot to take it and it left him with a slight headache and a lot of confusion.
While everyone was preoccupied with the different things they were doing, the brunette made his way into the kitchen - which was right next to the living room. He opened the fridge to grab the gallon of orange juice, only to notice there was no orange juice to be seen. Jungkook sighed, already assuming the group of seven finished it. He closed the fridge and went to one of the cupboards to grab a glass to get himself some water.
"You know, I could've just made you some tea or something, right?"
Jungkook looked up and noticed the silver haired boy was leaning against the counter, giving him a raised eyebrow. The brunette simply shrugged and went over to the sink to fill up his cup. He turned the faucet on, waiting for the water to reach its coldest setting.
"It's not hard to tell that you don't fully trust us, Jungkook-ah," Jimin pointed out as he remained in his place, leaning against the countertop. "I'm sure it's a lot to take in and it'll be bumpy for a short time, but we're actually here. We're here to help you finish your story."
Jungkook was partially paying attention to Jimin, his head hurting too much from all of the information given to him. He didn't know exactly what to believe, all he knew is that there were seven people in his house that he had never met before. It all seemed like a dream to the younger boy, like he was thinking of all of those things because of his lack of sleep, but he pinched himself and he hadn't even woke up, so he knew whoever those people were, they were real. Whether they were his characters or some intruders portraying as his characters, they were real and that was enough for Jungkook to process at the time.
"It's okay if you don't trust us, yet, but know that we are here to help," Jimin looked out at the living room, watching all of his friends. "Not only is it frustrating for you to write romance, but it's frustrating with those two when one already likes the other, but the other doesn't feel the same."
Jungkook raised an eyebrow at the silver haired boy as he filled his cup with the cold water, turning the faucet off afterwards. "What do you mean, Jimin?" He asked, bringing the glass to his lips to take a drink of the cold liquid.
Jimin turned his gaze to the younger boy, a sad grin etching its way onto his lips. "It's hard to tell that one of the two likes the other, but its hard for them when the other doesn't acknowledge them in that way," the silver haired boy stated simply. "That's why we're here to help, but..." The rest of Jimin's sentence was spoken so quietly the younger boy couldn't quite hear it.
"What was that last little bit? I couldn't hear you," the brunette asked before taking another sip of water.
Jimin's eyes widened a fraction before going back to normal, the sad smile being replaced with a genuine one. "It's nothing, Jungkook-ah. Just focus on getting your romance story done, okay? We're all here to help with that." With that, the silver haired boy left, leaving the brunette confused and curious as to what the older boy said. It had to have been important if he said it, but he played it off as he said nothing.
"This is all giving me a headache," the brunette groaned. He set his glass of water down and walked back out to the living room. Everyone was doing as they had been before the brunette went into the kitchen, so he decided not to interrupt them and instead get ready to go visit Yugyeom at work.
Jungkook walked down the short hallway to his bedroom, closing the door behind him. He walked over to his closet to look through the clothes he had, in search of a simply outfit. Most of his closet consisted of plain shirts, striped shirts and flannels, so there wasn't a wide variety for him to choose from; not that he minded, though, because it wasn't like he had anyone to impress with his clothing selection.
He decided on a blue and white striped t-shirt and a pair of black jeans. It wasn't much, but he was only going to visit Yugyeom so he hadn't cared on how he looked - he never really did, honestly. Jungkook grabbed onto the hem of his shirt and lifted it over his head before turning around to reach for the shirt he placed on his bed.
Just then, Taehyung barged into the brunette's room, uninvited.
Taehyung's eyes went wide as he noticed he walked in at the wrong time. His cheeks were flared up with heat, turning them a medium shade of crimson. "S-sorry, Jungkookie!" The blonde exclaimed, bowing as an apology before making his way back out of the brunette's room.
Jungkook shook his head, quickly putting the striped fabric on. Then he quickly changed his pants - not wanting the blonde to walk in uninvited for the second time and see something he shouldn't. Once the brunette was completely dressed, he walked out of the bedroom, and towards the bathroom to brush his teeth.
After the brunette was completely ready for the day, he made his way back out to the living room to leave the house. He quickly put on his shoes - which were a pair of timberlands - then grabbed his jacket in case the weather wasn't going to be on his side and the cold air was too much for him. He grabbed his keys, ready to leave unnoticed, when he was stopped by a certain blonde.
"Jungkookie, where are you going?" Taehyung asked, tilting his head to the side. He was sitting on the floor, waiting for his turn to play the game when he noticed the brunette was about to walk out of the door without saying anything to anyone.
All eyes were then focused on the brunette - excluding Kaesi's because she was too into the game she was playing. Even Yoongi had woken up, although he fell back to sleep shortly after because the silver haired boy was playing with his hair. There was a short silence as everyone focused on the brunette, waiting for his response to the blonde's question.
"I'm just going to see my friend," Jungkook crossed his arms over his chest. He felt he was being interrogated by his mom for wanting to leave the house, even though he was an adult and could take care of himself. "Why are you all looking at me like that? It's making me uncomfortable."
"Can we go with you, Jungkook-ah?" Hoseok asked excitedly, slightly bouncing in place at the thought of going somewhere outside of the brunette's house.
The brunette looked at the orange haired boy like he was crazy; why would he suggest something like that? The last thing Jungkook wanted to do was to bring the group of seven out in public, especially if they were his characters. Although he still wasn't so sure about that, he didn't want to bring them out of the house in case they were. After all, they may have been outside in the book but Jungkook's world was different from theirs and that meant something bad could happen to one of them or they'd fade away, the brunette didn't know but he was positive that bringing the seven out with him wasn't the best idea.
"Can we please?" Seokjin asked, eyes shining. Although he'd never admit it aloud, the oldest of the bunch was always up for adventure and going outside with Jungkook seemed like an adventure the pinkette wanted to take and not miss out on. "Pretty please?"
Jungkook sighed, not knowing what to do. On one end, he could just tell them no and that they have to stay indoors, on the other end, he could bring them along but his car wasn't big enough to fit eight people - it barely fit two. His car was an older one, something he received from his parents after publishing his first book, which was about four years ago. The brunette knew he could've just bought a nicer car with the amount of money he has, but he was wise with his money and spent it only on necessities like food, toiletries, clothes - not a bunch, just a few shirts and jeans - and that was it. He was smart with his money, never greedy with it.
"Even if I said yes, not all of us would fit in my car," the brunette replied, shrugging. "And it wouldn't be fair if I only took one person with me, now would it?"
The group of seven quieted down - excluding Kaesi who was still playing the video game - not quite knowing what to say to that. It wouldn't have been fair for only person to go with the brunette, they knew that. Seokjin frowned, tapping his chin in thought. Then he remembered something.
"Wait!" The pinkette yelled, gaining the attention of everyone. "Why don't we just take my van? The one you gave me in the story? It's outside right now!"
Jungkook rose an eyebrow in confusion as he opened the front door all the way, looking outside to see what the pinkette was talking about. Surely enough, there was a maroon colored van sitting in his driveway - one that the brunette didn't own. All he owned was his tiny, black car.
"See! Now can we go with you? I prefer driving because I'm oldest, but can we go?" Seokjin was extremely giddy to go outside and see more of the world Jungkook lived in. He was curious if it was different from his and how it was - he just wanted to explore, honestly.
Jungkook sighed in defeat. There wasn't any way he was going to tell them no then, especially since Seokjin seemed really excited about it - which was a little out of his character. Jungkook didn't pay any mind to it though, because he did make the pinkette's character a little bit adventurous, just not as adventurous as he was acting.
"Fine."
Excitedly, everyone began piling outside of the brunette's house and into the pinkette's van - which was a lot more fancy looking than he envisioned it as he wrote about it. Then again, Seokjin's character was pretty rich in the story so he should've expected something like that - although he still didn't fully trust the group of seven.
"I'm driving," Seokjin spoke as he hopped in the driver side. Jungkook sighed, getting in the backseat since Namjoon already claimed the passenger side as his own.
The brunette was seated next to Kaesi, whom was suddenly quiet. Everyone else seemed to be rowdy and talkative, but the girl wasn't. She kept a stoic expression her face as she stared ahead, no words coming out of her mouth. Jungkook sighed, not remembering making the girl so quiet - she was a lot more lively. But being in a new situation, he couldn't quite blame the girl.
"Alright, time to go!"
