Chapter 47
News about Deika City had everyone on edge.
At the moment; Eva had her hands over her mouth holding back laughter as she was present with Iida, Urakaka, and Izuku. They watch the news team interview Katsuki and Shoto about stopping a villain.
"Wow! Pro-level work mere minutes after earning provisional license!" the reporter began. "This morning we welcome two students from UA. Young heroes who recently took down some rampaging villains. Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugo." The two sat on opposite sides of the couch. "What a pleasure it is to have you join us," Katsuki grunted. "Uh...You must have bonded during your training, given how well you worked together, huh?"
"Does it look that way to you?" Bakugo asked. "Ya better get your eyes and head checked out soon then."
"That's right, we're friends," Todoroki confirmed.
Bakugo started yelling at him. "HUH!? WHERE THE HELL DO YOU GET OFF MAKING UP RANDOM CRAP LIKE THAT, YOU ICE-HOT IDIOT?"
"We've spent a lot of time together in our supplementary classes," Todoroki answered.
"BECAUSE THE SCHOOL FORCED US TOO!" Bakugo roared. "TRAINING BESIDE EACH OTHER DOESN'T MEAN WE'RE FRIENDS!" Izuku, Urakaka, and Iida were all blown away in despair but Bakugo's attitude.
"How do you define friendship?" Todoroki asked.
"I DON'T KNOW!" Bakugo responded. "YOU SHOULD GET YOUR BRAIN CHECKED, TOO!" Eva was fluttering in the air; just forcing her hands on her mouth.
'They are both so hopeless,' Eva thought to herself.
***
A new school day came, and they were all in class listening to the interview play from Kaminari's phone. He and Sero busted out laughing.
"They were interviewed for an entire hour, but all Bakugo's answers were trashed!" Kaminari laughed with tears in his eyes. "He's just an angry blip in the corner."
Bakugo was gritting his teeth angrily. "Why'd they cut me out?"
"You were quite raged the entire time," Eva said as she stood by his desk.
"But I'm always raging!" Bakugo gritted more.
"Perhaps you should stray from interviews in the future," Eva advised.
"But why!" Bakugo raged as he got to his feet.
Urakaka had her hands on her cheeks. "Honestly, they kind of did him a big favor."
"And he'd already done two interviews before this one," Yaoyorozu pointed out.
"So much for racking up any good press over that thrown down," Jiro added as she twirled her ear jacks. In minutes; everyone's attention got pulled to the news report on Izuku's phone.
"They're newly minted, but those students were reliable," said the reporter with antennae. "It's my sincere hope they're able to work as actual pros in the near future. We must not have a repeat of what happened in Deika City. It's been nine days since that fateful incident, when a riot of only 20 people destroyed the city in scarcely less than an hour."
Iida leaned over to Izuku. "I heard that the damage in Deika City was worse than Kamino, but since it was less populated there were fewer casualties." They focused back on the report.
"And to blame? Villains hoping to lower the public's estimation of heroes through destruction and the loss of innocent life ."
A couple of people were interviewed.
"It's foolish to blame the heroes of Deika for this event. In my opinion, the whole system needs to be reformed."
"Don't hate on the heroes for doing their best. It's not like they have office gigs."
"I hope this makes them wanna work even harder!"
"We keep doing our best as long as the pros do, too!"
"Let's ask our commentator, Kuraishisu, what has to say," announced the reporter.
"In the past, if there was an incident with this many casualties, everyone would be blaming the heroes for their ineptitude in the field," Kuraishisu answered. "But right now, I supposed you could say we're at a critical juncture. For the most part, I've seen more encouragement than disapproval."
Urakaka walked over putting circles around her eyes. "Ever since that 'Look Boy' was on TV, people have been saying things differently!"
Ashido did the same; turning to Todoroki. "He made everyone root for the new number one!" Todoroki seemed unsure how to feel as the doors opened. Everyone looked over to see Midnight and Mt. Lady entering the room.
"Not so fast, kids," said Mt. Lady. "It may look like there's a renewed love of heroes. But think about why. The world's on fire and everyone's scared. Are people cheering for pros they've ample faith in? Or are they praying desperately we don't get our butts kicked?" Everyone; but Mineta was happy to see Mt. Lady. "Our job's been more about celebrity in past years. Now the world wants to see real heroes again."
"Whoa. Mt. Lady!" Izuku greeted as Mineta shuddered.
Aizawa appeared at the door in his yellow sleeping bag and leaned against the door. "Mt. Lady has dropped in as a guest instructor. "She'll teach you how to deal with publicity, and Midnight's here to assist her."
"WHAT PUBLICITY?" roared Bakugo. "I keep getting cut!"
"Maybe you'll do better after training!" Kirishima wished.
Mineta pointed to Mt. Lady. "I'm psyched to see her, but isn't she the most celebrity-obsessed pro there is?"
Mt. Lady smacked his hand. "Quiet, shrimp!" She held up a card called Media. "Today's lesson is Media 101, taught by an active pro and obscenely gorgeous hot commodity named 'me' the perfect person to show you should behave like savvy heroes."
"I have no idea what we're gonna be doing," Kirishima admitted with a raised fist. "But let's do our best and go Plus Ultra, you guys!"
"Yeah!" Everyone cheered.
Soon everyone had changed into their Hero Costumes and were outside; Mt. Lady stood on a stage with a microphone
"For today's class, you'll be practicing hero interviews!" Mt. Lady announced.
"Yay!" Kirishima cheered.
"Eh," Eva grunted as she tilted her head. She wasn't always a fan of the media; probably due to the large amount of radiation they carried around with them.
"Shoto, my dear," Mt. Lady called. "You first." She waved him up.
"Okay," Shoto said; they watched as he took the stand first.
Mt. Lady put the mic in his face. "My goodness! You were amazing out there!"
Shoto grew confused. "Wait, what are you talking about?"
She angrily scolded him. "Pretend you just finished up a big mission? Go!"
"Right," Todoroki caught on.
"Tell us, Shoto," Mt. Lady began. "What kind of hero would you like to be?"
"Well, I guess...a hero who makes people feel safer?" Shoto answered.
"Lovely," Mt. Lady commented. "Problem is, if a handsome boy like you showed up to save me, I'm afraid my heart would go into overdrive."
"Oh, do you have a heart problem?" Shoto asked; Eva put a hand over her mouth and began giggling.
Mt. Lady put the mic back in his face. "And what kind of ultimate moves are you working with?"
He turned away; activating his Quirk; then threw out a large mountain of ice. "Heavenly-Piercing Ice Wall. I can use it to cover a wide area and to stop villains. Plus, it can be used as a platform. Additionally, I'm working to refine a move called Flashfreeze Heatwave."
"And hey, what about the other fire one he used in the fight against Class B?" Jiro asked.
"That's originally his," Sato corrected.
"Flashfire Fist!" Hagakure cried.
"Yeah, Flashfire Fist is my old man's move," Todoroki explained as he went back on stage.
"Oh," Hagakure breathed.
"The problem is, I'm nowhere near his level," Shoto admitted.
"Yeah, I'm not really here to discuss your family issues," said Mt. Lady. "And if you want people to feel safe, I'd recommend smiling at least once." She got closer. "You flash those pearly whites and the ladies will drop dead, ya feel me?"
Shoto became worried. "If I smile, then they'll die?"
"He's so dense," Eva giggled softly.
"Curse of being half and half," Katsuki whispered making her giggle more.
"Moving on!" Mt. Lady shouted in frustration.
"So, when we do an interview, we show off our moves?" Tokoyami asked.
Mt. Lady crouched down. "Sweet baby first years. Remember you're just starting out. It's not like everyone knows who you are!" They glanced at each other. "Your ultimate moves are like your personal calling cards. People won't forget you if you show off your assets. They're also handy when teaming up with others. And as ways to frighten off villains, too. Those moves help people learn to trust you with their lives. We don't yell out the names of our attacks just because it sounds cool."
"I'm pretty sure until recently, she didn't think about anything except how she looked on camera," said Mineta.
"It's not just Mt. Lady," Aizawa said. They all looked at him. "Right now, all the pros are being challenged to do better. Endeavor's ascent is motivating them."
"Now then, let's keep the interviews comin', shall we!" Mt. Lady encouraged into the mic.
"I chose my hero name because it was my brother's, and I want to live up to the honor and passion he embodied as Ingenium!" Iida took his turn.
"You're oozing with sincerity!" Mt. Lady complimented.
Yaoyorozu took her turn. "My name is Creati, and your safety is guaranteed thanks to my encyclopedic knowledge.
"Confidence makes people rely on you!" Mt. Lady said.
"Hi there, I'm Uravity! My Quirk is Zero Gravity!" Urakaka announced she floated. "And when I'm around your problems and fears are weightless."
"Aw," Mt. Lady cooed. "Everyone loves a gentle hero."
"Fairy Princess Hero: Violet Gust!" Eva announced as she twirled around a little. "From the Otherworld to protect your world!"
"Aye aye, Fairy Godmother!" Mt. Lady complimented.
Dark Shadow came out as Tokoyami took his turn. "Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi. Glory is reserved for those who have touched darkness."
"Whoo boy! Talk about a mood!" Mt. Lady cheered.
"I'm Red Riot, the Sturdy Herp!" Kirishima declared. "I'm an impenetrable wall of protection!"
"If you say so, boss!" Mt. Lady encouraged.
"I'm acid master? Pinky!" Ashido exclaimed.
"And I'm shocking!" Kaminari smiled. "I'm Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt!"
"Get it, guys!" Mt. Lady encouraged more. "I was afraid you'd be hopeless. But you're killing this lesson!"
"I'm not going to say stupid stuff like that!" Katsuki shouted into the mic. "Shut your trap and trust me."
"You're just as bad in an interview by yourself, huh?" Mt. Lady sighed in defeat. "I think I understand now, you just have a problem with humanity."
"It may not sound like it, but he is nervous," Eva said as she tilted her head.
"I would have never guessed," Mina sighed as she crossed her arms.
"I'm sorry, Bakugo," Todoroki apologized as he stepped up. "You were completely cut because I was there.
Bakugo pointed a finger at him. "You're not so great! I don't give a damn what you think and I definitely don't want your apologies!"
"Okay," Todoroki responded.
"Shoto," Eva said as she lowered herself a bit; he looked up at her. "Him being cut had nothing to do with you being there."
"It doesn't?" Todoroki asked in surprise.
"No," Eva denied quickly. Izuku was up next; he was no better than Katsuki.
"Deku, yes?" Mt. Lady asked; he was trembling so much he turned pale. "What a treat. I saw you in action."
"I'm glad," Izuku stiffed out. "Really glad. Just super glad."
"I'm sure we'd all love to know what was going through your head," Mt. Lady said.
"Just that I'm still glad," Izuku trembled more.
"Holy crap, when'd he learn how to use my Quirk?" asked Kirishima.
"He's just so nervous," Tsu corrected. "Now, that I think about he probably hasn't done anything like this before."
"He's hopeless," Eva said.
"Many viewers have noted that many moves seemed to be based on All Might's patented combat. Do you admire him?"
"YES!" Izuku yelled.
"And now you're yelling," Mt. Lady groaned.
"Izuku, this is just class," Eva said fluttering up to the stage. "No reason for you to be so nervous in front of us."
Izuku nodded; growing less nervous. "But I didn't want to just copy All Might, so I tried to customize my moves so they feel unique to me while being true homages to him." Eva went back down to the others. "For example, with Delaware Smash, I chose a state that All Might didn't name an ultimate after, so it feels like I made it my own."
"Detroit is a City," Eva corrected.
"Right," Izuku nodded. "Recently, I've incorporated part of that move into some other things I'm working on---"
"So chatty," Mt. Lady grumbled. Everyone focused on Izuku when Midnight asked Aizawa about the power thing that happened during the joint training session.
Eva glanced at Bakugo who stared at Izuku. 'Right...One For All's new power' His voice echoed in her head.
'Hm,' Eva sounded. 'Turning 16 has been wild. First dream walking, and now I can hear people's thoughts like the others in the Otherworld. From what I can tell, it's if I focus on the person.' She then turned her attention to Izuku who was about to demonstrate.
Izuku's thoughts. 'In the two weeks since the new power appeared, I've been visualizing it every day. It's inside me somewhere. That man said to master the ability. That it's waiting for me. Along with others. I put a lock on it, but it's still there. And if I'm the one who imprisoned it, I can choose when to use it and when not to. I just have to open the lock. Now. The same way I trained to control a percentage of One For All. I'll concentrate and only use the amount of Blackwhip that I can manage safely at this time.' Everyone watched as Izuku let out a small wimpy version of Blackwhip. "I did it Yeah!" Everyone was unimpressed. "Sure it was just a tiny whisp, but that's the first step to one day controlling this power!"
"Seriously?" Midnight and Mt. Lady asked.
'Izuku!' Eva scolded; Izuku let out a yelp and everyone looked at him as Eva put a hand over her mouth.
"Don't be happy about something so weak," Katsuki groaned in annoyance.
***
That night, Eva was sitting up in bed, she was up late reading through her fairy books when she heard the door open.
"Eva?" Izuku asked.
"Everything alright?" Eva asked looking over; he was in his night clothes and brought his All Might pillow. "You are normally out by this time."
Izuku got under the covers; scooting closer to her. He examined the material. "Why are you going through this again? I thought you'd read it a thousand times."
"I skimmed some parts," Eva admitted. "This is about earlier; isn't it?"
"I heard your voice in my head," Izuku said. "I thought that was erased with the quirk."
"I thought so too," Eva answered. "Just turns out some are late bloomers or completely erased."
Izuku leaned on her. "What are you going to do about your wing? Have you gotten used to the uneven flight?"
"Sort of," Eva answered. "Iida being class rep wanted to look into it himself."
"Sounds like him," Izuku smiled. Eva looked at him. "What?"
"You don't seem scared or worried," Eva said.
"About what?" Izuku asked as he tilted his head.
"The past One For All user's quirks are waking up inside of you right now," Eva said. "That must mean something big is going to happen."
"What are you talking about?" Izuku asked as he sat up more.
"They didn't wake up in All Might, and he had so many battles," Eva said. "What's happening now that the vestiges are reaching out to you?"
Izuku seemed lost. "I've been wondering the same thing. It's as Kacchan said...it could deal with All For One."
Eva grunted. "All For One has lived a long time; it's odd for a human to live that long even with the multiple quirks." She studied his face. "We are in the eye of the storm, and its only a matter of time before we are out of it."
"Whatever the future has planned, I want us to go at it together," Izuku as he leaned on her again; hugging his pillow tighter.
"I'm worried about you, Izuku," said Eva.
"Are you going to dream walk tonight?" asked Izuku changing the subject.
"Honestly, haven't been able to sleep," Eva admitted sheepishly.
"Wing hurting you?" Izuku asked in concern.
"Eri's first Christmas with us!" Eva corrected as she put her hands to her face. "Katsuki helped me make her an outfit she'll look just so cute in! Mr. Aizawa said he was bringing her to our Christmas party!"
"Ah, no way!" Izuku smiled a big one. "Let's make it a good one for her!" Eva nodded in agreement.
***
In their last class before the break it was announced they would be starting up Work Studies again; this time it was mandatory for all Hero Course students.
***
Eva was helping with dinner in the kitchen. Iida washed the rice, and Eva cut up vegetables.
"Yuki; do you by chance have any crystals?" Iida asked.
"Now that you mention it, I do," Eva confirmed. "I have some rocks if you want to look at them too."
"That would be most delightful," Iida answered as a sheet of paper appeared in front of her. "If you could; I would like to look at these."
Eva glanced through the list. "Yeah, no problem."
***
It was now Christmas Eve
That morning, board games were happening among Class A at the request of Yaoyorozu.

2. Sero
Table 6: Monopoly

2. Jiro
3. Tsu
Izuku had given Eva the task of connecting her mind with others during their games. She focused her mind on Table 6. Jiro had just landed on a railroad spot, and Urakaka's eyes sparkled.
'Any more money to Urakaka and I'll have to file for bankruptcy,' Jiro thought.
'Please let me land on the boardwalk,' Tsu thought.
'CA CHING!' Urakaka cried happily.
Eva moved her mind over to table 5.
'If I beat him, then I can borrow that manga series for a week,' Sero thought.
'Eva's been distant. Have I said something to upset her?' Todoroki thought. 'Was it because of what happened before the festival?' Eva took her turn; she was sure to make sure she stayed with her physical task as well as her mental task. She then moved to table 4.
'My daughters are going to be smokin' babes,' Mineta said; Eva shook her head in disgust.
"Does your head hurt?" Sato asked.
"No, just trying to shake around my thoughts," Eva answered; Kirishima then took his turn as Eva refocused on table 4.
'Please, no more kids,' Shoji thought. 'My car is overloaded.'
'I'm still stuck at marriage,' Ojiro groaned. 'Forget kids.'
'Payday!' Koda cheered.
Eva then moved on to Table 3.
'For my next word....let's go with Supplementary,' Iida thought; he placed his selection.
'Should expect nothing less from Iida,' Yaoyorozu thought.
'Oh come on!' Hagakure cried.
'I knew scrabble with these two was going to be anything but easy,' Kaminari cried. 'I should've joined the girls in Monopoly.'
Eva's mind then moved on to Table 2
'He'll never get this one!' Aoyama chimed.
' I got B4 and C4, should I go up or down?' Izuku questioned his next move; Eva glanced over.
'A4,' Eva said Izuku looked over.
'You know I don't like cheating,' Izuku said.
'I'm just doing as you requested,' Eva responded.
The fae then focused on her own game table.
'So the knife and revolver have been ruled out,' Bakugo thought. 'Rope is definitely the murder weapon in this case.'
'Ms. Peacock sure has been naughty!' Ashido giggled.
'Let's go with Colonel Mustard in the billiard with the dagger,' Sato suspected.
'I wonder if Eva would let me join in on the Dark Ritual tonight,' Tokoyami thought; Eva's head jolted to see him staring right at her.
'What Dark Ritual?' Eva asked, Tokoyami jumped; making his chair tip backward; and knocking the board over.
"YOU DAMN CUCKOO BIRD!" Bakugo roared as he got to his feet.
***
It was finally time for the class Christmas party, except for Bakigo; everyone was dressed in a red or green Santa costume with an item resembling their quirk on the end. Eva wore a green Santa costume and had a wind chime on the end of her hat. Everyone was happily socializing with each other.
"Work studies are back in action," Kirishima said. "I'm pumped, but we must be the busiest first years in UA history."
"Are the two of you going back to Ryukyu?" Jiro asked.
"Yup, we are," Urakaka confirmed. "What about you?"
Mineta was taking pictures. "Christmas Eve is the best! Heh."
Iida was in full costume with a beard. "Midoriya, Yuki, what do you two have planned? Tell us. Going back to the Nigheye Agency?" Izuku was also wearing green, but that was normal for him. Eva was on the couch sitting between Iida and Izuku.
"Yeah, isn't Centipeder the one running that operation now?" Kirishima asked as he joined them. "Be cool to work with that guy again."
"I thought so, too," Izuku admitted. "But it turns out..."
****Flashback***
Izuku and Eva had gone to the agency to see about the work studies.
"Apologies Yuki and Midoriya,' said Centipedere as he typed on the computer. "I'm ashamed to say this, but right now, we don't really have time to take on anyone."
Bubble Girl walked over with a tall stack of paper in her arms.
"Violet Gust! Deku!" Bubble Girl greeted cheerfully. "It's been a long time! Sir, always did the paperwork by himself. So it's been crazy hard to keep up on our own."
****
"I did my internship with Snow Drop," Eva said. "But she's been busy in America helping out there."
"Grand Torino, but he's also busy," Izuku said. "So...right now we're both stuck in limbo."
"That sucks," Kirishima grunted.
"But unlike last time when they were optional, this round is mandatory so there's no need to worry," Izuku said. "The school will find a place for us." Eva heard some yelling; she looked back to see Ashido had attempted to put a Santa jacket on Bakugo
Kirishima looked over as well. "You goin' back to Jeanist, Bakugo?"
"HUH?!" Bakugo roared as he glanced over, he growled when Kaminari threw a Santa hat on him. His mood changed a bit. "I haven't decided yet." He then took off the hat.
"But you had a ton of people scouting you after the sports festival," Kirishima pointed out as Bakugo looked away. "You came in first. You could go whenever you want to!"
Bakugo walked away. "I'm not interested in learning from some second-tier wannabe." Ashido appeared behind with a Santa coat making him mad again. "YOU TOUCH ME AND YOU DIE!"
"Come on, give in to peer pressure!" Ashido ordered. "It's Christmas! Where's your festive spirit!?" He growled. "Yuki!" Eva fluttered over as the hat was handed to her.
"Hard time to do work studies," Todoroki said as they watched as Bakugo twitched, not daring to refuse as Eva put the hat on him.
Mineta exploded in irritation. "THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A PARTY, YOU GUYS!" He pounded the table. "SO HOW ABOUT LESS WITH THE SCHOOL STUFF AND MORE WITH THE HOLLY JOLLY!"
"Dude, what are you, the Yule Police?" Kaminari asked.
Sato then walked in. "Come on, you guys. Might sound weird, but Mineta has a point. It's time for us to dig in." They looked to see he had a turkey in his hands.
"Sugarman can cook regular food!"
The door opened as Eva put the Santa coat around Bakugo.
"Sorry, we're late," Aizawa smiled. "Have you started the party, yet?" Everyone looked over and smiled to see Eri. All their faces filled with joy.
"I'm supposed to say..." Eri began; she looked at Aizawa. "Trick or treat?"
Aizawa knelt. "Not quite. Wrong holiday."
"Eri Claus!" Tsu, Kirhsima, Eva, and Urakaka cheered as they ran over with a few others; Eva unknowingly knocked over Bakugo with her wing on her way to the door.
"Oh! She's adorable!" Urakaka cried as she slid over.
"That looks great on you!" Izuku complimented.
She threw some rice. "In sickness, and health."
"No, you're even further away now," Aizawa denied.
"Is Togata coming?" Kirishima asked. "That guy's a riot."
"I'm afraid he'll be celebrating with his own class tonight," Aizawa answered; he showed a smile to Eri. "Enjoy yourself. Go on." Eri nodded and ran over to the others.
"Ohmigosh, so cute!" Urakaka squealed.
Eri gave Urakaka some painted eggs. "Here, take these eggs I painted."
"That's Easter, but thanks!" Urakaka accepted.
"Fairy Godmother!" Eri cheered, running up to Eva, who now sat on her knees. "Take this!" It was a paper heart necklace.
"Hearts go more with Valentine's Day," Eva said. "I'll cherish this for life."
"Eri, are you thirsty?" Ashido asked.
"Please," Eri accepted.
"We have apple juice," Eva informed. "Along with some mango nectar."
"Apple juice, please," Eri requested. The girls gathered around Eri offering her all kinds of sweets and a glass of apple juice. The party continued; Eva happily munched on a saffron toast that had a strawberry-apple spread on it that Sato made her. That earned him a kiss on the cheek; Eva happily shared her food with Eri. They listened as Jiro pulled out her guitar to play something for them. The tree was decorated all in corresponded each student; soon it was time for the presents to be pulled; Ojiro was in complete shock to see Tokoyami putting a sword into the pile. Everyone grabbed a string and went along with the tradition. Eva ended up with a classic alarm with a scary-looking skull in the center from Bakugo; Ojiro was in shock to see Eri with the sword.
"Everyone should get a sword at one point in their life," Eva said as she approved the giant gift.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Ojiro shouted.
"No," Eva denied. "I have a sword of my own back in the Otherworld; given to me when I was Eri's age." Ojiro grew even more shocked as Eri showed off the sword to Izuku.
"This is beautiful!" Yaoyiorozu cried as she put a hand to her face; Eva looked over to see that the girl had pulled the gift Eva put in. It was a jewelry box with a dancing fairy inside; Eva had recorded a song from her flute to play with it. Soon, the party was over, and they were cleaning up.
"Yuki," Iida whispered. "I need you to meet me at the boy's bathroom in your world clothes, about twenty minutes before midnight."
"Hm?" Eva asked.
"I need you to trust me, please," Iida requested. "Everything depends on the strike of midnight."
"Alright," Eva agreed; Iida walked away to help in the kitchen as Eva removed things that were placed higher on the walls.
"Yuki. Midoriya. Bakugo," Todoroki greeted with plates in his hands; they looked at him. "If you don't have choices you like, I was thinking..." He tilted his head. "Come with me. Do a work-study with Endeavor. The number one hero."
****
It was about 30 minutes before midnight; Eva was in Otherworld clothes when she approached the boy's bathing room. She was wearing a light purple petal bralette and a petal skirt that went to her knees.
"I knew you'd come early," Iida said as he stood outside the door with Tokoyami. "Would it be alright if Tokoyami joined?"
"What's going on?" Eva asked as she looked at the two.
"Restoring your wing, of course," Iida answered as he opened the bathroom door.
"Oh, yeah, Tokoyami can join," Eva agreed quickly; they all went inside. All the lights in the bathroom had been shut off, with only the moonlight illuminating the place. On the side, Eva saw two bowls with different mixtures. The bath water itself was warm honey milk; all the rocks and crystals Eva had given Iida were placed in a certain way; flowers used for healing were floating around in the water.
"I oversaw Iida looking at the material," Tokoyami admitted. "Are you sure you don't mind?"
"You are willing to help is to be appreciated, " Eva said looking back at him.
"Alright, first I need you to take off your ring for this to work fully," Iida instructed as he looked at the book that sat on a podium. Tokoyami picked up one of the bowls and walked over to Iida. "Next, rub the mixture Tokoyami is bringing to you around your body." Eva stared at Tokoyami.
"Wait, Tokoyami," Eva began as she began to apply the mixture to her torso as he got her limbs. "You are going to be performing magic."
"One of the reasons I wanted to take part," Tokoyami answered as he focused on her shoulder area. "Dark Creature. I do worry if I say it wrong."
"Tokoyami," Eva said rubbing it on her face.
"What if I destroy the whole world on accident?" Tokoyami asked as he moved down the right arm. "I'll be a true villain!"
"Tokoyami!" Eva exclaimed; he looked her in the eye. "It's true as a human; you shouldn't do it unprotected." She tapped her wings and then sprinkled some dust over him. "There, now you won't accidentally invite any demons into UA as well as protect your own body."
"Do you need any when you perform it?" Iida asked as Tokoyami grew flustered as he started below her knees.
"No," Eva answered as he began to focus on applying the mixture around her thighs. "I am living magic myself...but for humans; you are attracting numerous energies, whether good or evil."
"We will be fine with you here," said Tokoyami. "You are one of the energies." Eva gave a small smile.
"After the mixture has been applied, mark a healing wound over where you lost your wing," Iida instructed as he showed the picture. Tokoyami went and grabbed the other bowl; he carefully marked the rune on her back; then followed Iida's instructions to put a couple more markings; as he did that Dark Shadow popped out to watch the process. Eva felt more comfortable with the familiars here. "It's a good thing I taught you how to float; cause that's next." Eva nodded; she slowly walked into the water; then began to float; the moonlight was kissing her.
Tokoyami took his turn as the clock began to strike midnight. "Earth...Fire...Water...Air. Heal what has been hurt; return what has been lost." At the last strike of midnight; Eva's eyes snapped closed; both boys and the familiar stared down as they watched Eva's magic energy light up in her body; they were like veins; going all the way to her wings; the creases in hands and feet. Like her wings; the magic appeared as a gold color; all the crystals lit up and an electrical current formed between the rocks connecting to Eva. They watched as the water spun around lifting Eva out of the water; her glow increased greatly making Dark Shadow hide back in Tokoyami; even the boys had to turn away. Then everything became dimmer; they looked to see Eva floating back down; she landed in the water; floating, she was now in a new set of Otherworld clothes and her wing had been restored. Eva was now in a purple pansy flower dress; the petal top was strapless; in a sweetheart style, the skirt part went just below her knees. She wore a branched circlet around her head with a red gem in the middle; her hair itself was now down just passed her butt; in a heavily wavy pattern.
"Yuki!" Both boys exclaimed; her eyes snapped open.
"Thank the spirits!" Iida cried happily; as the two got into the water; rushing over to her.
"Is Dark Shadow, okay?" Eva asked as she placed her feet on the ground.
"He will be just fine," Tokoyami answered as he stared in amazement; her missing wing had returned. Eva looked down to see that the water was now clear; the moon complimented it. Eva touched her face observing her reflection; she studied her wings. Without a word; Eva suddenly pulled both boys into a very tight hug. "Yuki!"
"No words in the world can express how grateful I am for the two of you," Eva said as she pulled away from the both of them; she kissed the top of Tokoyami's beak and Iida's cheek, and both boys blushed heavily.
"You are the one who looks like a princess," Iida said. "We should be the ones kissing your hand."
Eva shook her head. "What you two did for me deserves greater recognition than a simple thank you can ever give." They started to get out of the water. "Truly, I will be forever loyal to both of you."
"One does not need to be that loyal to the darkness!" Tokoyami exclaimed; still clearly flustered.
Eva looked back at him. "Tokoyami...that darkness and light can't exist without each other." She gestured to water. It looked completely dark except for the areas that the moonlight or Eva shined on it. Eva then helped both boys clean up the area; they then said goodnight and went their separate ways. Eva was now walking down the hallway of floor 5 barefoot; her ring hung around her necklace. She opened the door to her room, and Shoto's head peaked over the hammock.
"E-E-Eva!" Shoto gasped as he sat up. "Did you just come back from the Otherworld?"
"No," Eva denied as she turned to close the door. "I was getting my wing restored." Shoto immediately noticed that she had all six again. "Though...what are you doing here?" She heard a thump; she looked over to see that he had fallen out of the hammock. "Shoto?" He was in his white tank top and boxers. Lately, Shoto seemed to be coming to Eva's room once a week, making sure Bakugo isn't there or Izuku. Along with making sure, Eva is there as well. It seemed he wanted to spend the night tonight, which Eva was fine with.
"I'm fine," he assured as he got up. "As for what I'm doing here...." Eva sat on her bed, and Shoto immediately joined. "Have you thought about my offer?"
Eva looked forward. "I do accept the offer; though I wasn't sure at first."
Shoto looked forward. "Is it because of my family's past?"
"It's about what you said back when we were looking for internships," Eva answered.
"Is that why you've been distant?" Shoto asked.
"I'm not sure what you are to me," Eva admitted; they both looked at each other. "Feelings like this with humans are new, and I'm not sure if I'm fond of it."
"What kind of feelings?" Shoto asked with hope.
Eva smiled lightly. "I still need to figure out that myself...I do like having you around." She focused on him as he did the same to her.
"It seems how we feel about each other is the same," Shoto said. "I have something for you." He got up and went over to the hammock; when he turned back around, Eva had a gift out for him. They exchanged gifts; Eva opened hers to see a bronze circlet there were moonstone gems alongside it. She looked over to see Shoto wearing the hat, gloves, and scarf she had made him. He smiled happily in appreciation.
'Cute,' Eva thought to herself with her hand over her mouth.
Shoto looked over at her; in a swift move, Eva was now wearing the circlet that he gave her. "The Otherworld has a large supply of moonstones." Eva blinked. "I may have gotten my sister to get in contact with your dad and brothers."
"You made this?" Eva asked in surprise.
"Is it bad?" Todoroki asked as his eyes focused on her.
"It's beautiful," Eva complimented as she gently placed her hands on his face. "Thank you." She gently brought his head forward; kissing his cheek; Todoroki was quick to move her head to kiss her between the eyes. "Happy Christmas, Shoto."
"Happy Christmas, Eva," Shoto wished her back; he looked up to see a mistletoe above them; he looked down to see Eva looking away; she was blushing a little. Shoto turned her head toward him; she still didn't dare make eye contact. "Eva." She looked at him; their eyes locked; without another word; Shoto leaned down and kissed her, Eva happily kissed back.
"I think we've established enough trust between each other," said Eva pulling away, he looked confused. Eva looked back at the tapestry on her wall. "Just don't freak out."
"Promise," said Shoto. He watched her place her hand on the tapestry; the picture slowly turned into real, and branches popped into her room, and they were the largest leaves he had ever seen in his life. Sounds of nature were strong.
" It's a portal to home," answered Eva. "It's how I can be back and forth all the time and be allowed off campus." There was a distant roaring of what sounded like a dragon; Eva looked at Shoto; his pupils were huge. "Shoto?"
"What all are you capable of?" asked Shoto looking at her. "You seem to hide a lot of it."
"Like you, I don't want to be seen as a monster," answered Eva as she had the portal turn back into a tapestry.
"Never will I see you that way," said Shoto, he turned her face to him to kiss again. They continued to kiss, Shoto moved Eva till she was straddling him, she could feel he was hard. Shoto moved his mouth to her neck, Eva smiled at the pleasure feeling, quickly after Eva was doing the same to him.
Minutes later; Shoto laid on his back; propped up by the pillows; including the All Might one; that Midoroiya left behind. Eva slightly laid over him; popping herself up over him with her elbows. Both waist down in blankets. The two spent the next two hours catching each other up on a lot since; as they talked Shoto was playing gently with Eva's hair; he was appreciating her natural glow as much as he could before she put the ring back on. They kissed a couple of more times throughout the night.
