The three boys trudged across the dry land. 

"You sure we should be here?" Yuuto asked. 

Mamoru grinned. "Of course, it's fine!"

But as the boys were about to continue, a tiger leaped at them. 

"MOMMA!!!" Mamoru yelled. 

"MOTHER!!!" cried Yuuto.

Yuuto's mother heard her young son's cry, so she handed Haruna into the hands of an older man. 

"Watch her till I return." She ran on ahead to find her son and his friends.

The tiger lept infront of the kids, about to attack them.

"I'M COMING BOYS" yelled Yuuto's mom.

The boys turned to the lady and ran to her. "Go! I will take this tiger on." she watched them leave. Yuuto stayed and hid behind a rock to watch in horror.

Mamoru and Ichirouta headed back to the others. 

"We were chased by a tiger!" cried Mamoru. 

Ichirouta's voice went quiet. "Yuuto was... behind us..."

Yuuto's mom was getting weak; she had blood everywhere on her and cuts over her body. 

"Stay away from my baby!" she spoke very weakly.

Before long, Yuuto's mom dropped to the ground, feeling weak and helpless. 

"OKAA-SAN!! wailed Yuuto.

The tiger growled and dragged the body across the floor, taking it into another part of the jungle.

"Okaa-san..." Yuuto watched in fear as his tears fell to the ground.

He cried alone in the dry lands, hating to think how he was going to tell the others of his mom's death.

"Yuuto and his mum still haven't returned." a older man said as he held Haruna.

"Someone should go and look for them." Mamoru's dad suggested.

Mamoru sat with his granddad. "You don't think they died, do you?"

Daisuke patted the younger boy's head. "I hope not, my boy."

That night, Yuuto slept in the dry lands. He curled up next to a rock, but soon he was picked up and taken back to the others. The figure placed him next to Haruna.

"Try and sleep now." the figure spoke.
