Chapter 65

The night had wrapped around the city, like a veil of a widow and the night sky was fogged up with clouds that made the moon look blurred up yet you still observed it with a calm mind as you remained seated at the back seat of the taxi that Jin called for you, to send you to work.

It had been a while that you had nothing to worry about reaching there on time and even though you had left an unconscious Jimin and a DongMin that followed in his footsteps soon enough, you still had your mind at ease because Jin had reassured you that he would take care of them both.

That man sure was reliable and you definitely appreciated that, especially now that you were going to work with two days of zero sleep. It was not an uncommon situation for you but still, you were hoping that after this night at least, you will get some sleep, otherwise, you were gonna turn off like a malfunctioning machine somewhere unexpectedly.

"Miss, we arrived at your destination." The driver woke you up from your state of admiration that you were caught up in and you thanked him and gave him a smile, before stepping out of the vehicle, knowing that Jin had paid him already.

"This feels so weird." You mumbled to yourself as you watched the valet of the L'etoile hotel looking at you with wide eyes, most likely surprised by the fact that you had pulled up in a taxi.

You passed him by with a simple nod of the head and entered into the desired warm atmosphere of the hotel,  greeting HyunShik - the porter- in a proper manner before you gave your usual small wave from afar at the receptionist, that smiled at you as she watched you walking towards the staffs' corridor.

Once there you sped a bit your pace, scared of meeting miss Kwan anywhere, this time not because you were late or had done anything wrong, but simply because she was not a pleasant face to see first thing before starting your shift.

"Oh Sonia, hi~" Your face lit up as soon as the door of the changing room -where you were heading at- opened and out of it walked Sonia, still dressed in her casual clothes.

Instead of her usual happy expression of seeing you, however, you were faced with an exciting expression on her face as she run towards you at full speed at grabbed you by your arm.

"Oh my God, Y/N. How could you hide this from me?! I can't believe this!" She hit your arm with her free hand as she spoke of those words that utterly confused you for you had no idea what she was talking about.

"How about you calm down and explain what are you talking about?"

"Don't you know? The actor from room 2008. Jeon Jungkook. He is at Miss Kwan's office right now and asked her to give you a day off because he needs you for a date!" You stared at her as if she had just said that she saw a flying dear from the window, for her words sounded equally absurd with that.

"Just when did you get so close with him and how did you get his interest? Girl, I want to hear everything!" She started jumping up and down in excitement as she requested of you one more thing that you had no idea how to reply to.

"Hold up! Hold up! Too much information for my sleep-deprived brain. Give me a break." You pushed her aside softly and walked towards the dressing room, getting inside and closing the door behind you.

"The heck is he doing? Is he trying to get me fired? I agreed to help him with that stalker of his but this-" A knock on the door, cut your murmuring off and with annoyance you three your stare towards the door, thinking it was Sonia again.

"I told you I need a moment al-" You opened the door only for your words to be cut off again for the one who was standing before that door was none other than Jeon Jungkook.

"Good news. I got you a pass for tonight. Would you mind accompanying me to a house party of my manager?" He smiled at you as he spoke, then leaned a bit closer to make sure that none other would hear what he was to say next. "The one you promised to help me with, will be there for sure so please come and keep her away from me."

"Say no more." You agreed without a second of hesitation for he literally had gotten your interest from the moment he had mentioned that he was gonna get you to his manager's house. He was literally offering you a golden ticket to explore the crib of the enemy. There was no way you would let such an opportunity go to waste.

"Ooh~I was expecting you to at least be annoyed for the last minute notice but I guess you really do get passionate about helping people. I feel more reassured I asked this of you now." Jungkook looked satisfied with your cooperation and gave you a smile right before he placed out his hand for you to take. "Let's get going."

"Sure!" You mirrored his happy expression but ignored his hand and just stepped out of the room and closed the door behind you.

"See you tomorrow Sonia. Sorry for leaving you alone. I promise I will make it up to you." You bowed your head at her that was still watching, standing where you had left her earlier and she just smiled at you, wishing you to have a good night.

Jungkook walked towards the elevator ahead of you and you followed him, waiting a bit with him as he pressed the button to call it.

"Is there a dress code for that party? Because these are all the clothes I got with me right now." You questioned him and once he looked your way, you gestured on the clothes you were wearing, implying that those were the ones you were talking about and he proceeded to check you out from head to toe until he locked eyes with you briefly and the sound of the elevator's door opening was what made him break that contact.

"Is that an okay...or?" You raised an eyebrow at him as you entered inside and he pressed the number of the basement floor where the parking lot was.

"If we were going to a fast food place, I guess it would be alright but not for this case. We will have to stop by a shop and you should go choose a dress for yourself. I won't be able to get out of the car because if I am seen with you that could cause trouble for me. However since it's me that is in need of your presence, worry not, I am willing to pay for whatever you buy."

"That's fine by me." You agreed for you sure weren't willing to spend your money for an occasion that you have no business going if it wasn't for him, even though going there is actually beneficial to you and your curiosity in this case.

You fell silent after that, following him in his car as in your head, you tried to prepare yourself physiologically and physically, hoping that you will make the most out of this night and you will discover at least one thing that could possibly help you find out who was the person that was after Jimin's career.

---Change of set---

Jimin slowly opened his heavy eyelids, getting aware of the wide fog that had taken over his vision and remained there for quite a bit, while his mind was waking up more and more and he had started hearing his surroundings and getting aware of the rhythm of his own breathes.

His lips parted slightly as pain consumed his body and he couldn't help but leave a phoneme of ache, opening his eyes a little more briefly, before he fell frozen again, waiting there for his sight to clean up completely. But once it did, he was met with a sight that definitely never crossed his mind that he could witness from such close proximity.

"What the f-!" He yelled only for his sentence to fall incomplete just like he fell from his bed on the floor because of his attempt to get away from DongMin's face that suddenly appeared before him in a breathes distance.

"Ouch! Ouch! My ribs! God Damn It!" He let his cursing chain once on the floor, tasting the ache that multiplied because of his fall.

"Oh, you woke up? What are you doing on the floor?" Jin appeared by the doorstep, with a cup of coffee in his hand and Jimin lifted his head to face him, while his face was still portraying the pain he was feeling for the moment.

"Why? Why?! As if seeing DongMin's face an inch away from yours, ain't enough of a traumatizing event. Yah! Are you two really my friends or are you trying to kill me?!" Jimin yelled at him and Jin nodded his head as he gulped down one more sip he had taken from his coffee while Jimin was speaking.

"All right, this one is definitely Jimin. Buddy, I missed you~" Jin threw himself at him, hugging him tight while making sure he doesn't spill his hot coffee on him in the process.

"Get off of me~ What's with all this affection!" Jimin smiled a bit as he tried to push his cousin off him but Jin made his embrace tighter, causing him a bit more pain.

"Yah! Get off! Someone bring me a normal human being with whom I can communicate. Y/N~" He yelled your name and Jin let go of him, this time laughing out loud as if he had just heard the best joke ever.

"Y/N? Normal? You woke up with a better sense of humour, I see."

"Hyung, please don't tire me out," Jimin begged him with his eyes, letting him know that he was not in the best of states to be playing around and Jin became serious immediately, leaving his cup of coffee aside and helping him get up and sit on the bed.

"Lay down and get some rest. You need it." Jin advised him as he proceeded to grab his pillow and puff it up a bit.

"What? In the same bed with DongMin?" Jimin pointed over at his knocked out figure who was sleeping rather messily if he was to judge.  "Why is he sleeping here, to begin with. Wake him up and tell him  to get home."

"Actually...I am afraid he got a portion of your medication while we were trying to get you unconscious...because you know..."

Jin's words made Jimin's face drain of any emotion as he finally realized where he was supposed to have woken up. He was in the bathtub last time he recalls and none of them was around and now he was here.

"Did I-"

"It was logical to happen and you know it. You have been really weak lately and-" Jin tried to soothe the possible guilt he could be feeling, for every time he was to lose control of his consciousness, he knew well that he had tendencies to blame himself for it.

"Who?" Jin hesitated to reply to his question for he was aware that Jimin wouldn't be pleased with the truth.

"Spit it out!" His tone grew firm as he demanded a response and Jin threw his eyes away from him before he replied.

"P1" Jimin's hand clenched on the fabric of the blanket that happened to be underneath his palm as he heard that, his eyes closing as an exhale left his lips, displaying his disappointment and devastation.

"Jimin?... Are you okay?" Jin leaned towards him and placed his hand on his shoulder only for him to open his eyes again and look at him, now with a soft smile on his lips.

"Of course I am. There's nothing to worry about." He uttered those reassuring words, even though those words were not meant for Jin but for himself. Because unlike anyone around him, he knew something more than them.

He was not someone that Jimin keeps secrets from off but in this case, only, he had personally made his psychiatrist promise him that she won't tell him anything about the possibility and the possible outcome that he may have one day.

A scenario that he hid from him because he didn't want to scare him and worry him more for him leaving in the fear of that scenario becoming reality, was more than enough. Yet even if he was to speak, whom could understand him fully?

To whom could he possibly explain well enough what it meant to fear of being taken over and vanishing from existence, while your eyes and body would remain untouched. Whom could truly understand the insecurity and pain he felt in his heart every time he was to think that there was to come a day that he may get replaced and unable to ever return again, and the people that he loves and love him, will have no other way but love his killer, for he will have his body.

"Just...promise me something Hyung." Jimin took hold of Jin's hand that was on his shoulder and left his fake smile fade away from his lips.

"Whatever you want."

"If a day comes...that I never return again...If one day comes that I lose this battle...Promise me...Give me your word that you won't let my body live without me. Promise me that you will end the war for me." Jimin's eyes got filled with tears as he made that request knowing fully well that he was putting him in a difficult spot, but despite how guilty he felt for burdening him, he still couldn't stand the thought of letting himself die alone.

He had created all of those personalities somehow and he felt responsible for them. So if he was to go, he would like to take them all with him for he had given life to them and he was willing to die along with them if that meant that he was gonna clean the threat and trouble -that his entity was- from the burdened shoulders of his loved ones.

"...Please..."

"...I promise you."
