(10:46 p.m)

Kalvin explained to Cora what was going on with his brother and Amy and then quickly changed his pajama pants for sweatpants. After that he put his shoes on, took the keys and left locking the front door behind him. He still couldn't believe it. How could she ? On one side, he could understand that she was in pain and surely needed to go away, but on the other side, she was wrong to leave like that without telling Kaldrick where she had taken Mikayla. 

He was praying for everything to be alright. He was hoping that they were going to find them as soon as possible. And he was wondering where they could be at that moment. Just when he thought that life was back to normal and they were far away from drama, drama always found a way to come back to them. He was tired of it and wanted all of this bullshit to be over. 

Just when he had to stop at a red light, his phone rang for the second time in not even twenty minutes. He sighed and asked strength to God. He needed this more than anything else, "I'm on my way, bro. Don't worry, I'll be there soon." He reassured him instantly. 

"They…They…Kal, they are at the hospital."

He frowned and looked at his phone wondering if he wasn't going completely insane right now and then put it back on his ear, "WHAT ?! What happened ? "

"I don't know, they got in an accident. Amy just called me, she's with Mimi and Kalia. I'm driving to the hospital." 

"Okay, see you there." Fortunately, he wasn't too far from there, but it took him twenty-five minutes though. These minutes felt like forever. He parked and got out of his car the fastest he could. He locked his doors with his keys and then ran in the hospital. There was Kaldrick talking with the receptionist and it seemed like she was getting on his last nerves. 

"Kaldrick ! " Kalvin called coming towards him, "Where are they at ? "

"This bitch doesn't want to tell me ! Where is my daughter at ?! " He asked raising his voice. It's been five minutes that he was trying to have some info, but the woman was telling him to sit in the waiting room until his turn to come, because they were other people before him, but Kaldrick didn't care. He was scared and had no clue on what had happened to his daughter, sister and baby mama. He felt anxious, angry and sad. A lot of emotions and feelings were mixing in his heart and he couldn't control the effect it had on his behavior. Like, usually he doesn't call a woman out of her name, but seemed like it was different today. 

Kal was shocked. He had never heard his big brother talk this way, "Damn. Kal, calm down, I'm sure they're fine." 

"No, you're not sure, Kalvin ! " He yelled at him then turned his attention back to the receptionist who began to be afraid of him, "Are you gonna tell me or what ?! " He spat at her getting more frustrated. 

"Sir, please, can you sit in the waiting room ? This family was here before you and this one too." She said pointing the other persons. 

"Kaldrick ! " A female voice called and the two brothers followed it by turning their head and there was standing Amy with little bruises on her face. They both sighed in relief and ran to her. 

"Amy, thanks God, you're okay. Whe-" Kalvin started, but was quickly cut off. 

"How could you ?! How could you do this to me ? Who you think you are to take my child away ?! " 

Kalvin rolled his eyes, "Kaldrick, lower your voice, damn. You really have to do this now ? "

"Yes, I do, Kal ! She took my child away ! "

Amy frowned looking at him like he had lost his mind, "What are you talking about ? " She asked confused. She really didn't know what he reproaching her. Personally, she knew that she had done nothing. For her, she had done nothing he was accusing her of, "I didn't take her away from you. The hell are you saying ? " 

"Really ?! But y'all were going somewhere, right ? Plus, you asked my own sister t-"

She laughed dryly not believing this, "She was driving us to my grandmother, because I didn't feel good to be behind the wheel." 

"Why did you not have told me that y'all were going to your grandma ? Huh ? Can you answer that, please ?! I went to your house and you weren't there and when I tried to call you, you didn't take the call ! And when I asked your neighbor if she knew something, she told me that you left and have two or three luggage with you ! " He was too pissed to even attempt to calm him down, so Kalvin just shook his head.

He finally got it. His brother jumped to conclusions and now he got him in his feelings and he couldn't control his anger. 

"After what happened at your house, of course I didn't want to talk to you ! And I had to go away from a little time to be able to think and to relax, and so I feel like I needed to pay a visit to my grandmother more than anything else for that, because she had always been there for me through my hardest times, it always seems like she had all the response that I need and I missed her, so I decided to spend three  days with her and Mikayla wanted to come with me since it's been awhile that she hadn't see her mama Harrya ! I turned my phone off not to be disturbed during the trip, because I wanted it to be a good one, mainly for my daughter ! I was going to call you as soon as we'll be arrived at her house and we'll be back before the end of this week and if we wanted to stay more, I will let you know ! Anyways, it was my turn to have her ! Did you seriously think that I took her away from you like that ? You really thought that I was that selfish ? She just met you guys and she loves you so much, it wouldn't be correct to do something that cruel to her and to y'all also ! I'm not you, Kaldrick ! I do think about the others' feelings ! "

Kalvin bit on his lips feeling embarrassed for his brother. 

"Uh…" Kaldrick shoved his hands in his pockets looking down at his feet. He felt so stupid, "…I'm so sorry, Amy. But with what you said and you weren't talking to me for one month, even when I was picking Mimi up and taking her back to your house…I…I'm really sorry." 

"I am too." She shook her head folding her arms, "She's in room 248 and Kalia is with her. I'm going outside, I need some fresh air." Kalvin saw the tears in her eyes and he felt worst about all this situation. 

Kaldrick tried to grab her arm, but she moved away before he could even touch her and walked outside, "I wouldn't be proud of myself if I was you." The receptionist said looking at Kaldrick with narrowed eyes. She rolled them and got back to her business. The other people who heard and saw everything shook their heads at him and then kept doing what they were doing before this scene occurred. 

"I'm the wo-"

"It's unnecessary to say all that. Go find her and talk to her." Kalvin said interrupting him. 

"But…she…I'm sure I'm the last person she wanted to see right now." 

Kalvin sighed wiping his face, "You're never there for her when she needed you the most. Do you really love her ? " He asked and his sibling nodded his head, "I want you to answer to me ! "

"Yes, I love her ! "

"Then be there for her ! She just got in a car accident and then you come with that bullshit, go see if she's okay." 

"Shit ! I'm so stupid." 

"Yeah, yeah, everybody knows it now."

.

"Uncle Kal ! " Mikayla greeted him with a hug.

He put the Sour Patch on the nightstand next to the bed she was sitting on, "Princess ! How are you ? " He asked pulling away and then checked her face. She had a little bruise on her cheek and nothing else, "And I bought you candy." 

She smiled, "Thank you ! I'm good. Where is daddy at ? "

"He's with your mother, talking." She nodded her head, "Where is auntie Kalia ? "

"In the bathroom." As she said that, Kalia walked out of there and was now in the room with them. Kalvin and her hugged tightly. 

"How are you ? " He asked concerned. 

"I'm fine, I guess." 

He raised an eyebrow, "You guess ? "

"I'm still a little bit shaken by that. I thought I was about to die. Thankfully, it wasn't our time." She answered looking at her niece. 

"Yeah, thankfully. But, what happened exactly ? "

She shrugged, "I don't know. I was driving, we were singing along with Keyshia Cole and then a truck was coming in the other direction directly on us. I honked and when I realized that it was really going to hit us, I tried to go to the right, but I hadn't been fast enough and it touched us and pushed us out of the road and then we hit a tree. Thanks God for the airbags though." She explained replaying it in her mind.

"Damn." That's all he could say. 

"Yes, I know." 

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door and less than one minute later, a policeman was entering in with a clipboard in his hands, "Uh…Sorry for disturbing, are you Kalia Ryans ? "

"Yes." She simply answered.

"Here, I have your license. You lost it." He handed it to her. 

"Thank you. Uh…can I know what happened with the other driver ? "

"Yeah, was he drunk or something ? " Kal added curiously. 

The policeman shook his head, "He wasn't drunk. Actually, he had a heart attack while driving, that's why he wasn't going in the good direction." 

"Oh my ! Did he wake up ? "

The policeman shook his head sadly, "The shock was too hard for him, he died a couple of minutes ago. Well, my job is done here. Take care." 

Life was crazy.

{ The Next Day | (10:15 a.m) }

"Are you okay ? " Cora asked looking at him. 

Kal got out of his trance, "Uh…yes, I think. I still can't believe everything that happened yesterday night." He said honestly. 

She rubbed his shoulder, "It's going to be alright. Amy and Kaldrick are going through a lot, but they'll be good at the end. They just have to work on their relationship. Mimi is an exceptional kid, she'll be good too. She's always smiling and thinking positively -what we all should do by the way. Kalia is a strong woman, I talked with her this morning before we left and she told me that she's okay. Nobody really got hurt in this accident, thanks the Lord. Don't worry…God always knows what he's doing, right ? "

He nodded agreeing with her, "Exactly. Anyways, let's talk about something else, like our baby. We're finally going to know the gender." He said as a huge grin appeared on his face. 

She smiled and then pouted, "Yes…but…I really don't want to know." His face expression changed immediately causing her to laugh, "I'm just kidding." He rolled his eyes, "So, you still want a boy ? "

He shrugged, "I want a healthy baby. But if it's a girl, I'm going to buy me a gun after that appointment. And I might go in jail a couple of times in the future, because I'm sure I'll have to hurt a boy or two or maybe three." Was his response. 

She chuckled, "Oh ! So, you're going to be an overprotective daddy ? "

"Yes ! And if it's a boy, he better not get STD's. And also not to get a girl pregnant before to finish his education and be established in life and she'll better not be slut. And he better respects women too. He'll be as amazing as Almar, I'll make sure of it. He's gonna have the best big brother and sister though, I know they will teach him a lot of interesting things. Well except giving cars away." He said causing Cora to smirk shaking her head. 

"I can't wait for him or her to be here."

After the usual baby conversation and check up that took a couple of minutes -actually almost one hour- it was finally time to find out the sex of the baby. The both future parents were excited to know and couldn't wait anymore. With that info, they could get more ready within these next four months. They only had four more months ! The date was almost there. It felt like these past five months passed by like five minutes, even if some days seemed way longer than an entire year.

A lot happened and it wasn't the end of it just yet. 

"Okay, let me look at it carefully. Now you two need to know that what I'm going to tell you it's not sure at 100 percent and I can make a mistake. Usually I don't, but we never know. So, are you ready ? " They nodded their head both biting on their lips. 

"Please, stop the suspense and tell us ! I'm about to have a heart attack and to pee on myself also. Just tell us ! " Kal said growing really impatient and making Dr.Gregoirs and Cora laugh a bit. 

"Well, it's a…"
