{Two Days Later | (9:03 a.m) }

"Glad to see you two today. So, how was Paris ? " Dr. Gregoirs asked smiling and putting her gloves on. 

"We had so much fun. It was amazing ! " Cora answered smiling back. 

"Yeah, it was a cool family vacation." Kal added nodding his head. 

She clapped her hands, "Great ! So, how is the pregnancy going so far ? We're finally in the second trimester ! "

"Well, this pregnancy is REALLY different from the first one." 

"Oh ! What do you mean exactly ? "

"Well, the nausea stopped kind of really quickly. When I was pregnant with the twins, I remember vomiting during the entire first trimester, but this time it wasn't the case. So, I want to know if it's a problem or should I not worry about this ? "

"Well, every future mother is different and some women do have short period of nausea. Plus, with everything that was going on and the stress added to it, I think that's why your body isn't reacting to this pregnancy like to the first one. Do you feel some kind of pain sometimes though ? "

"No, it's okay. Except for my back now, but I know it's normal, but that's not something to worry about. I'm fine and I'd been relaxing lately."

"Good ! Less stress, better the pregnancy will go. And what about you, Kalvin ? Excited to be a daddy ? " She turned her head towards him.

He chewed on his lips, "Well..." He shrugged, "...I don't know. I mean...I'm ready, but not really. Uh...It's all new to me." He scratched the back of his neck.

"Don't worry, it will be alright. Now that we are in the second trimester, you could relax, it's more easy than the first one. By the way, the spam from week 13 to week 27 is called the ''honeymoon''. And it's around that time that you can feel the baby's first movements." She informed him happily.

He nodded his head, "Okay and...Uh...is she still going to act crazy or was it just for the first three months ? " He asked getting a dead glare from Cora.

Nessa chuckled, "To be honest with you, yes ! During that time of the pregnancy the woman realized more than she will give birth to a baby and so she got a little more worried and that's the father's role to reassure her."

He raised his eyebrow, "Okay. And who's gonna reassure me ? "

She kept chuckling, "As I said, it's going to be alright. Don't worry. Plus, you have my number, so just call and I will answer all of your questions. Well now, can we start the checkup or do you want to talk about something else ? " She asked looking at them. 

They shared a look and shook their head, "Okay. Let's go then." 

She did the usual medical tests and take her measurements to make sure that everything was alright with Cora's body and after a couple of minutes she was done with that part. Thankfully, there was no problem. This morning, Cora was a bit scared to come because she was afraid of finding out that something was going wrong with the baby. She was stressing for the most part of the first trimester and couldn't focus on feeling good and taking care of herself for the health of the baby, but now that everything was over with, she promised herself to have a calmer pregnancy. 

"Okay. Keep relaxing and don't do too much. Remember, you're carrying a baby."

Cora playfully rolled her eyes, "Yes I know. That's around this time that I'm getting more easily tired."

"Exactly ! So, nooooow...." She began trailing off and grinning. 

"So now what ? " Kal asked slightly annoyed. He hadn't time to eat a proper breakfast this morning and now he was hungry, what meant grumpy too. 

Nessa sighed, "You were doing so good a few minutes ago, what happened ? " 

Now she was getting on his nerves, "I'm not about to stay here all day, bruh ! " He snapped angrily. 

She rolled her eyes and went in little room, then came back with a Doppler monitor. Kalvin frowned wondering what she was doing with it. Then he thought and realized that they were about to hear the baby's first heartbeat. He was feeling a little nervous all of sudden.

"Ready ? " Nessa asked sitting back on her chair. She didn't wait for them to answer and delicately held the small probe against Cora's growing belly. She could do it earlier in the pregnancy, but she wanted to actually try it for the first time a bit later, because the Doppler doesn't work this early.

She moved it a little bit and then stopped. An intense silence was reigning in the room as they were waiting patiently. And suddenly, they heard it.

It was the first baby's heartbeat.

It was a special moment. Cora's heart was beating hard. She was so happy and couldn't help but shed some tears. It was beautiful. It was as amazing as when she was pregnant with the twins. She already loved her unborn child and now the love had only got stronger. Until this moment, she still couldn't believe that she was going to be a mother for the second time in her life, but now it was getting realer.

She was going to be a mommy again.

Kalvin was so shocked to hear this. It was all new to him. His heartbeat sped up as he was hearing his unborn child's heart beating. His first baby. His first baby boy or baby girl. That's now that it really got to him. He was going to be a father in a couple of months and they were going to go really fast. It's already been four months and he hadn't even seen them pass. A little life was growing in Cora's belly and it was his child. It was weird, but felt incredible. 

He was going to be a daddy for the very first time of his life.

After the appointment, Cora and Kalvin went to lunch and there they spent all the time talking about the baby's heartbeat and how they were excited, but also anxious to welcome their little boy or little girl. And they concluded that now they really had to have a plan for their near future. They didn't want to be all lost once the child will be born. 

Now, they were shopping at the mall. Since Cora was gaining weight, she had to buy some new clothes and Kalvin needed some sneakers. Once they were done and had their stuff, they put them in Kalvin's trunk and then came back for the baby's stuff. Even if Kal kept telling her that they didn't really need to do it -because of the gifts they were about to receive for the baby shower, Cora wanted to get some things on her own.

"Aww ! " She cooed and picked a blue newborn onesie, "It's so little. Look ! " She pouted as water was coming into her eyes. 

Kal sighed wiping his face, "Oh my God ! You're not gonna cry again, are you ? It's just an onesie." He couldn't wait to be done with this pregnancy now. She was having the same reaction everytime she was trying clothes for herself earlier. He was tired of it.

She pouted more, "I'm not crying." 

"No, but you're about to." 

"Kal, I'm pregnant ! My emotions are all over the place." 

"Yes, I know."

"If you know, then shut up ! " 

He was about to say something, but held his tongue back. He wasn't going to argue with her and didn't want to get her frustrated either. They were supposed to chill for the rest of the day.

"You're really irritating ! Why are you even talking ? If it's to say nothing good or smart, then close your mouth and mind your own business ! If I want to cry, I'm crying ! " She snapped at him getting mad.

As a lot of events were going on, it didn't feel like she was pregnant to him during these past three months. They were way too busy handling the chaotic situation with their family and Cameron to pay much attention to the pregnancy. But now, Kalvin was realizing more the effects of the hormones on her. She was too emotional according to his own opinion, but hey he couldn't change it and had to accept the consequences of his act and take in. 

He inhaled, then exhaled slowly calming himself down. She was getting annoying, but she was the one snapping like he had done something bad. He made a little prayer in his mind asking strength and patience to God. That new experience was definitely something else, "I'm sorry." He apologized causing her to frown. 

"Okay..." She said then groaned rolling her eyes. 

He sighed following her as she was walking away, "Are you really mad at me ? " He asked curiously.

She stopped and turned around, "I...Don't say things like that to me, okay ? I'm tired of crying so easily and of all these emotions, but I-WE have to do with it. Be patient with us." She beamed and touched her belly. 

His eyebrow raised as he was attempting to understand, but he just let it go. He was not about to talk about it forever, "Okay. And you know what ? " 

She frowned a bit, "What ? "

He grinned, "You're really beautiful." He complimented her causing both of her cheeks to redden immediately. She moved her hair in front of her face and tried to hide her gigantic smile, but Kal moved her hand, leaned in and then pecked her lips. Cora could feel the butterflies, "You're really cute when you're blushing." He then kissed her nose.

She giggled, "Stop. Uhg ! What are you doing to me ? " 

"It's called natural seduction 101." He answered making her laugh. 

"Okay ! " She continued to laugh. 

"So, how is it, professor McKall ? " He asked seductively biting on his lips and staring intensely into her eyes.

She smirked and wrapped her arms around his neck, "A+++ and ++ and more. " She licked his bottom lip and he then let her tongue slide in his mouth. They moved in sync enjoying the contact of their lips. They had a make-out session for a moment before to break away from each other, but still being in the other's arms. 

"Cool."
