Phan is a massive ship.

It's the biggest ship from YouTube.

And literally everyone seems to ship it.

If you don't, then you do whatever makes you happy. I don't even ship it that much - I write phanfics, sure, but I just don't get that invested in it, and I can totally see why other people don't as well.

BUT that's not the point.

The point is, I thought for many years and came up with theories for why people ship phan.

THEORY ONE - OBSESSION WITH GAY SHIPS.

I have a friend. Her name is LeafChild. And she has a huge obsession with gay ships. (Also read her book. It has a gay ship in it. #spon) You name it, if it's gay, she ships it. (Sorry Daisy I used you as an example.)

And I'm sure that there are loads of people who ship phan just because it's gay, and they like shipping gay things.

Ok let's stop this right here NEXT THEORY.

THEORY 2 - BECAUSE THEY GENUINELY THINK PHAN IS REAL

Pretty self explanatory.

THEORY 3 - PEER PRESSURE

Hey, my cousin somehow persuaded me to ship phan a bit. It can happen.

THEORY 4 - THE FUTURE

So this is my favourite theory because I think it's probably the most likely.

Basically

How many 35 year old men live with their best friends? How about 40 year olds? 45? Especially if they have a girlfriend/boyfriend, or if they get married.

Dan and Phil live together. THIS ISN'T GONNA LAST FOREVER.

That's what people don't like. They go 'oh no they'll move out and get married one day PHAN IS REAL'. Nobody wants to admit that one day, 'Dan and Phil' might become 'Dan who lives in London with his girlfriend and Phil who lives in Lancashire with his wife and kids'.

We ship phan because we think it's the only way for Dan and Phil to live together and be best friends forever.

THEORIES.

None of that made any sense did it.
