I have a bone to pick with the phandom.

*THIS ISN'T ABOUT EVERYONE, ONLY SOME MEMBERS*

If you were a YouTuber, and you worked for hours making a video and editing it, would you want the majority of comments to be something about how people are only there for phan?

No. You wouldn't. It would annoy you.

Imagine if you worked for hours on a video, only for most comments to be about some phandom reference that popped up for a second.

I've seen comments like-

"Only here for phan" - YouTubers react

"PROTIP" - literally everywhere

"THE WAY DAN AND PHIL WERE LOOKING AT EACH OTHER AT 3:57 MY HEART" - any video where Dan and Phil appear for three seconds

- and numerous others.

IT'S ANNOYING. Don't people understand that?

It's like all of the creator's hard work is NOTHING compared to the piece of good advice they gave, which can immediately be called a 'PROTIP'.

I personally think it's horrible to the maker of a video to dismiss their work like that. If you see a phandom reference, laugh over it, sure, but don't comment it where the creator can see it and get hurt or offended by it.

I like a protip as much as the next person, but not commented on a documentary about terrorism. It's not always the time for protip. Okay?

It's not only the phandom who do this, I should clarify. I was watching KickThePj's video, 'Colour Bandits', and half the comments there are about how the poem sounded like something Twenty Øne Piløts might make. And I just thought, "NO. PJ made it, not TØP. Piss off." Sure they might've meant it as a compliment, but it still annoyed the hell out of me, because it was undermining his creativity by saying it was like something someone ELSE might make.

But I'm not complaining about the tøp fandom. Because they're not EVERYWHERE, dismissing people's work.

(Well, they might be. I haven't noticed them, though.)

Anyway if you're an 'only here for the phan' commenter, stop it, or get out. The door is open.
