White ran at the base of the hill, looking for a den for her and her soon to be here pups.It was spring and her pups were due any day now.White stopped at a hole with a rock in front of it, she sniffed around the rock it was familiar.A memory flashed through her mind, this was the den her mother used.Memories of running and playing in front of the den with the new green grass and purple flowers.

She crawled in and knew why her mother used this den.It was wide on the inside, with moss on the floor so the pups had a soft place to sleep.Small beams of sunlight seeped in from the entrance, with was up high so the pups couldn't escape the den when she was out.Blood came into the den after her, looking around.

"This is the den you were born in?"He asked White nodded they had grown closer over the past moons.White pressed into his side her belly bulging with the pups.

A few days later White lay in the den, looking down at her three newborn pups.Their eyes and ears closed dry fur and cute little muzzles.The first was red with white on his legs, White decided to name him Red leaf.The second was a tawny female, White named her Spotted sand.The last was smaller than the others, a soft silver male with a white tail.White leaned and touched her nose into his fur, his name Frost Moon.

Blood crawled in and when he saw the pups he smiled.White nuzzled his nose, then looked down at their first litter of pups."What are their names?"He asked,looking at them with pride."This one is Red leaf."White said nosing each one in turn."And this one Spotted sand"White stopped at the small male."His name is Frost Moon."White smiled then leaned ageist Blood never happier.
