Chapter 6
Morning came around, Myla Weasley, Halle Merlot, and Seika Plum were all standing in McGonagall's office. They had asked about a cheer team, Seika couldn't bare to keep eye contact with the head of their house. While Halle and Myla were both ready for whatever was to be said.
McGonagall sat up straighter than she had been. "Let me get this straight, you girls want to conduct a cheer team for Gryffindor?"
"That is correct," Halle answered. "If the other houses want to do the same they can."
"Seika wanted to show a lot of support for Harry, and we'd thought it best to do it with a cheer team," Myla answered. "Not only will we be cheering on Harry, but the rest of Gryffindor."
"Ms. Plum, what do you have to say?" McGonagall asked.
"Having a cheer team would provide more extracurricular for the students here at Hogwarts," Seika explained as she finally looked up. "It can create a stronger unity among the students, in the muggle world we have sideline cheer, they pump up the crowd along with providing encouragement for the players. " Seika and Halle looked at each other, after a nod, Halle placed a piece of parchment with drawn uniforms for Gryffindor.
"And how-how would these others be recruited?" McGonagall asked as she picked up the parchment.
"Anyone can request to join," Myla answered as she placed her parchment on the table. "We want at least 10-12 people to join; though we can cheer with less. Anyone can try out, practices can be held at the same time as quidditch practices. We can share the field especially since we will not be on brooms."
"We know cheerleading seems a bit strange for quidditch," Seika spoke more. "In this extracurricular, confidence can be built, learn to be a team player."
McGonagall removed her glasses, then looked at the girls. "Very well, I will speak to Professor Dumbledore about this. I can not guarantee this proposal of yours will pass, but I will provide you good faith that this is being done with good intentions." The three looked at each other happily. "I will have an answer for you by the end of the day; I will see you later in Transfiguration, now off to breakfast."
Upon entering the Great, Myla seated herself between Ron and Halle. Ron and Harry told Myla all about last night, Harry filled her and Ron in on the package moved from Gringotts.
"It's either really valuable or really dangerous," said Ron.
"Or both," said Harry.
"Perhaps it's the item the thief intended to steal," Myla said. "For that vault to be broken on the same day Hagrid moved it...that means Dumbledore must've known of the intentions before. It's a good thing you and Hagrid got to it before."
"But what on earth would be safer here than Gringotts?" Harry asked, Myla shrugged. She looked at the potions book she was reading. As she was flipping the page, a large package plopped in front of her and a couple of others. Seconds later, a letter was shoved into her hands before Ron, the package was a broomstick for Harry, Myla looked over to see the boys smiling gleefully at her. The three quickly left the great hall to unwrap the broomstick, they got stopped by Mafloy and his crew.
Marco Flint had seized the package, then looked at Draco. "It's a broomstick."
"You'll be in for it this time, Potter," Draco sneered as Marco threw it back at Harry. "First years aren't allowed them.
"It's a Nimbus Two Thousand," Ron blurted out.
"Don't you have a Comet Two Sixty?" Myla asked. "Flashy brooms."
"But not the same as the Nimbus," Ron added.
"What would you two Weasleys know about it, neither of you could afford half the handle," Draco snapped back. "I suppose you and your brothers have to save up twig by twig."
"That's if Weasley girl doesn't steal it first," Marco added.
Professor Flitwick suddenly appeared. "Not arguing, boys? Lady?"
"Not at all professor," Myla answered.
"Potter's been sent a broomstick," Draco blurted out at the same time.
"Yes, yes, that's right," Flitwick beamed at Harry. "Professor McGonagall told me all about the special circumstances. And what model?"
"A Nimbus Two Thousand, sir," said Harry. "And it's really thanks to Malfoy I've got it."
"And it's thanks to you that Hogwarts will be having cheer teams, the first time ever," Flitwick informed, this made Myla light up.
The three Gryffindors went up to their house.
"Cheer team for quidditch?" Ron asked.
"Seika wanted to provide a bit more support for Harry for his first game," Myla answered. "This way we can support Harry and the rest of Gryffindor." Ron and Harry both looked at each other. "Bad idea?"
"It's just a bit unusual," Ron said as they looked at her.
"Harry thought moving pictures were unusual," Myla pointed out. "It will become a norm quicker than you think."
"If you say so," Harry nodded.

The next day came around, out on the quidditch field stood Myla, Halle, and Seika in front of a ton of other people from the same house.
"Uh, thank you for coming," Myla began. "We would like to try something new here at Hogwarts, starting with the Gryffindor house."
"A cheer team," Halle began.
"You expect us to be led by first years?"
"No," Seika denied as she twiddled her thumbs. "Captains can be 6th year or up. But we want to put together a team of 10-12. And Professor Sinistra was kind enough to look over for tryouts." They all looked over to see the Astronomy teacher, she was sitting on the sidelines. "We should begin."
***
When news spread to the other houses that a cheer team had begun for Gryffindor, they too were quick to form their own. Tryouts went well, Myla and her two close friends made the team of 12.
1. Lorenzo: 7th year and Captain
2. Irene: 7th year
3. Phong: 6th year
4. Benedict: 6th year
5. Alma: 5th year
6. Stu: 5th year
7. Ajax: 4th year
8. Darlene: 3rd year
9. Otis: 2nd year
10. Halle Merlot: 1st year
11. Seika Plum: 1st year
12. Myla Weasley: 1st year

Between school, and practices the school year seemed to be flying by, it was October 26th, a few days before Halloween; Myla was sitting on a boat in the black lake with Neville, Seamus, and Dean, they were doing homework together...well Neville was doing homework.
"You seem distracted Mimi," Neville spoke up.
"Mimi?" Myla asked as she looked at him.
"Can I call you that?" Neville asked as his ears turned red, this made Dean and Seamus laugh.
"Sure," Myla agreed. "But before you can, I have a potion I want you to try."
"I knew it," Seamus laughed as he looked at Dean. "It was only a matter of time before she poisoned someone."
"That sneaky Gryffindor just had to earn our trust first," Dean added as he wiggled.
"Oh shut up," Myla rolled her eyes. "I promise on bloody hell that I am not trying to poison you." She then pulled out a bottle. "Time to prove your bravery, boys if Neville isn't up to it."
"I'm brave!" Neville squeaked. "I'll drink whatever it is!" He took the bottle from her hands. "What is it?"
"Well, I'm hoping it works how I want it to," Myla answered.
"That's not a lot to go on," Seamus shook his head. "Probably just trying to steer from the word poison." Myla then kicked him. "Ow!"
Dean formed two fists and began to chant. "Drink." Soon the other three joined in till Neville took a drink. He slowly lowered the bottle, putting the cap back on. "Well? Are your kidneys slipping into your stomach?"
"No," Neville denied. "I feel rather warm." Seamus took the bottle and sniffed it. They looked at Myla to see her scribbling in her notebook.
"If it works as I want it to, the effects of this potion should last for hours," Myla informed. "For how long? That I don't know."
"Got a name for your invention?" Dean said as he leaned forward to look at what she was writing.
"Not yet, "Myla denied.
"Why you make a potion like this?" Neville asked.
"For cheer," Myla answered as she looked up at him. "Halle was concerned since our quidditch season is held when it is a bit colder out."
"It's brilliant, Mimi," Neville complimented; this caused Myla to blush a bit as Seamus took a swig.

Myla was one of the top students in her year, she was below Hermione, but above Draco. She still hasn't found a name for her potion, but she was able to sell it to older students. Myla kept the money in a dragon egg jar, she got the jar from Charlie a few years ago for Christmas; it was placed in the drawers beneath a red cloth. In another notebook she got Percy to give her while on a Hogsmeade trip; it was used to record all the people that have bought the potion from her; and how much she's made.
It was now Halloween, for Charms class Professor Flitwick was going to let them learn how to make their feathers fly.
"Do you know?" Ron asked leaning over to her as
"Yeah," Myla answered. "Unlike you, I make use of my free time."
Ron shot her a dirty look and opened his mouth; before he could say anything Professor Flitwick made a statement. "Keep talking to a minimum when I am instructing."
"Sorry," Ron and Myla apologized.
Professor Flitwick went back to teaching. "One of a wizard's most rudimentary skills is levitation...or the ability to make objects fly. Uh, do you all have your feathers? Good. Now, don't forget the nice wrist movement we've been practicing, hmm? The swish and flick. Everyone."
Everyone picked up their wands. "Swish and flick."
"Good," Flitwick smiled. "Oh, and annunciate. Wingardium leviosa. Off you go, then."
Everyone turned their feathers and began to attempt to make it fly, multiple murmurs of the same spell throughout the classroom. "Wingardium Leviosa." Myla listened to everyone as she simply waved her wand around. Myla did not feel the need to flaunt her intelligence, she felt it would draw more attention to her. As a thief, more attention was the last thing she wanted. Her attention was broken by Ron's sleeve smacking her in the head.
"No, stop, stop, stop," Hermione ordered, Myla looked over to see Hermione was ready to talk to Ron again. "You're going to take someone's eye out. Besides, you're saying it wrong. It's Levi-osa, not Levio-sar."
"You do it, then, if you're so clever," Ron snarled. "Go on, go on."
Hermione rolled up her sleeves; flicked her wand. "Wingardium leviosa!" The feather rose up high in the air.
"Oh, well done!" Flitwick cried. "See here everyone, Miss Granger's done it!" Myla watched as Ron's quickly turned foul. "Oh, splendid!"
"Wingard leviosa," Seamus began to attempt the spell more. Right after Flitwick congratulated Hermione, there was an explosion. Myla started laughing the moment she saw Seamus sitting dumbfounded, and his feather burnt.
"I think we're going to need another feather," Harry requested.
Soon they were all leaving class, everyone paired off.
"Didn't see you attempting the spell, Myla," Seika said.
"She probably already knows it," Halle added. "But why she didn't show off--"
"I am the thief you all complain about so much," Myla reminded her. Halle and Seika nudged her. "Parkinson should really not carry stuff like this in her pockets." Myla pulled out a small crystal charm.
"Since you're so confident, why not show the spell to us," Halle suggested. "Right here, and right now."
"But we aren't allowed to use magic in the corridors," Seika reminded her.
"As if Myla has been a ruler follower from the start," Halle laughed. "So, what's it going to be Myla?"
Myla scoffed as she pulled out her wand, she pointed it right at Marco Flint. "Wingardium Leviosa." The girls watched as Marco Flint's underwear started to be more revealed. The boy didn't seem to notice until he felt himself being pulled upward.
"Wha-" Marco began as a crowd started to help. "Ah! Help! Help me!" People were laughing as Marco got placed on a pole, dangling from his trousers. "Help!"
"You didn't have to be so cruel," Seika said as they started to walk away from the scene.
"Or Marco can learn to pull his pants up more," Myla suggested.
"You're lucky that there were no teachers," Seika scolded. A hand went over Seika's mouth as Snape walked passed to go help the student in crisis.
Soon they had entered the great hall, pumpkins floating above the table, thousands of bats fluttering around, and more. Myla was chatting happily with the people around her.
"Where's Hermione?" Seika asked as she glanced down at the table.
Neville leaned over to them. "Pavarti Patil said that she wouldn't come out of the girl's bathroom. She said that she'd been in there all afternoon crying." Myla noticed Ron and Harry glance at each other, Myla immediately recognized the look of guilt on her twin's face.
The doors suddenly flew open; the defense of the dark arts teacher dashed into the room. "Troll! In the dungeon! Troll in the dungeon!" Everyone grew heavily silent as Professor Dumbledore got to his feet. "Thought you ought to know."
"And that's our DADA teacher," Myla sighed just to be smacked by Ron and Halle. Soon a ton of people were screaming as lightning struck across the room.
"SILENCE!" Dumbledore blared, getting everyone's attention. "Everyone will please not panic. Now...prefects will lead their house back to the dormitories. Teachers will follow me to the dungeons."
"Hufflepuff, this way!" Everyone started to calmly leave the great hall, Myla managed to stuff a few cookies in her pockets before going with her classmates.
"Gryffindors, keep up please, and stay alert!" Percy ordered as he led the students.
"How did a troll get in?" Harry asked.
"Definitely not on its own," Myla denied. "Trolls are not the brightest."
"Probably people playing jokes," Ron suspected. "Probably Fred and George's idea." Harry suddenly pulled back Ron and Myla. "What?"
"Hermione! She doesn't know," Harry reminded them. The three took off towards the girl's bathroom, they stopped when a strong order filled their noses. In the distance they saw a large shadow, footsteps made the area around them tremble.
"I think the troll has left the dungeon," Ron said.
"It's a mountain troll too," Myla added.
"Does it matter what kind?" Harry asked.
"Yes," Myla nodded. They hid behind a wall as they watched the troll come into view. "It's going into the girl's bathroom." Moments later they heard screaming and the sound of things being destroyed. The three of them rushed into the girl's bathroom.
"HERMIONE, MOVE!" Harry ordered.
"HELP!" Hermione cried as the troll destroyed more stalls. Harry, Ron, and Myla all started to throw debris at the creature.
"Hey, peabrain!" Ron shouted as the item he threw hit the troll in the head. The troll saw Hermione crawling away, he swung his club back.
Myla jumped in front with her wand out. "Protego!" The troll's club bounced off the shield hitting him in the head and then hitting the sink to the left of Hermione.
"HELP!" Hermione cried.
Harry jumped on the troll's club as he went to attack more. "WHOA!" The troll just missed as Harry landed on the troll's neck. "WHOA! WHOA!" Harry ended up sticking his wand up the troll's nose.
"Ew," Ron scrunched his nose as Myla went under the sink to hide with Hermione, the two girls held each other's hands.
This caused the troll to thrash around more, till he grabbed a hold of Harry's leg. "Do something!" He dodged the club.
"What?" Ron asked as he looked around.
"Anything!" Harry pleaded as he continued to dodge. "Hurry up!" Ron pulled out her wand.
"Swish and flick!" Hermione instructed as she did the wand movement.
"Windgardium leviosa!" Ron shouted the troll's club lifted out of his hand.
"Hmm," the troll sounded while looking at his empty hand. Once he looked up at the club, Ron broke the spell, letting the club slam into the troll's head.
"Cool," Ron smiled. The troll dropped Harry, it started to wobble for a bit; Harry backed up as fast as he could before the troll could crush him with his weight.
"That was excellent, Ron," Myla complimented as she and Hermione got out of hiding.
"Is it...dead?" Hermione asked.
"I don't think so," Harry answered as they crowded around the creature. "Just knocked out." He bent down, pulling the wand out of the troll's nose. "Oh! troll boogies."
Myla bent down and blocked out two troll whiskers, they all looked at her. "They have a lot of value." Many footsteps entered the room.
"OH!" Professor McGonagall cried entering the room, she looked like she was going to faint. "Oh, my goodness." She turned to the boys. "Explain yourselves! Both of you!"
"Well--" Ronbegan.
"What it is--" Harry began.
"It's my fault Professor McGonagall!" Hermione blurted out, everyone looked at her and each other in surprise.
"Miss Granger?" McGonagall asked as her heart broke.
"I went looking for the troll after hearing about Myla having invented a potion," Hermione began to explain. Myla froze, forcing her eyes to the ground, she could feel Snape's eyes on her. "I'd read about them and thought I could handle it, but I was wrong. If Harry, Ron, and Myla hadn't come and found me, I'd probably be dead."
"Be that as it may..."McGonagall began. "It was an extremely foolish thing to do. I would have expected more rational behavior on your part, and I am very disappointed in you, Miss Granger. 5 points will be taken from Gryffindor." Hermione lifted her head. "For serious lack of judgment." She looked at Ron, Harry, and Myla. "As for you two gentlemen and girl--I just hope you realize how fortunate you are. Not many first-year students could take on a fully grown mountain troll and live to tell the tale. 5 points...will be awarded to each of you." The three smiled at each other. "For sheer dumb luck." She started to walk away. "Ms. Weasley, come with me now!"
"Go on," Harry and Ron nudged her. Myla followed Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape down into Snape's office.
"What did I hear about a potion invention?" McGonagall asked.
"It's true," Myla answered. "Halle mentioned that it was going to be cold out for cheer--"
"Show me," Snape ordered as his hand fell in front of her face. "Now." Myla rugged into her pocket; seconds later Snape was pouring the contents into a vial.
"For a first year too--" McGonagall began. "Perhaps the youngest of this century."
Snape took a sip from the vial. "Centuries." He turned to Myla. "Explain your reason behind inventing this."
"Well, as I was saying earlier, Halle mentioned that it was getting cold," Myla began. "And I wanted to make sure the cheerleaders during the quidditch games were able to stay warm." Myla looked down. "Though as I think about it, a potion like that was a bit dramatic compared to putting on a few layers."
"Do you have a name?" McGonagall asked as Snape started studying the contents of the potion. "Do you have a recipe for this potion?"
"Yes, ma'am," Myla nodded. "It's up in my dormitory...as this moment it is nameless."
"I feared the students would be teaching this year would be the usual group of dunderheads," Snape admitted. "Ms. Weasley, you've proven yourself to be rather gifted in the art of potions."
"Thank you, sir," Myla stated as she looked up a little. Dumbledore came into the room, Myla watched as the three adults stood in the corner whispering to each other, they kept looking at each other.
"Ms. Weasley," Dumbledore asked as he walked over. "Have you thought of a name for this potion in the matter of our private discussion?"
"Calidumus," Myla answered. "Also known as the Warming Potion."
"Clever choice," McGonagall complimented as a stack of papers was put on the desk. "I don't expect you to get through this in one night. And 100 points to Gryffindor."
"100 is way too generous," Myla declined.
"Not to worry, I'm sure older twin brothers will lose them all by breakfast," Snape assured.
"You must be very proud of your student, Severus," Dumbledore said looking at the potion master. "Not many first years would be able to do something like this." After, that Myla went to Gryffindor tower, and upon entering only Halle and Seika remained.
"Goodness!" Seika cried as both girls crushed Myla in a hug. "I'd thought something terrible happened."
"When Ron, Harry, and Hermione came back, we got worried," Halle added as they pulled apart. "What you got there?" The three girls sat in front of the fire for hours into the night. Myla told them how Hermione let slip of Myla's invention, and they went through the paperwork together.
