Chapter 16
Summer vacation was ending; Myla was about to step out of Flourish and Blotts, not to return till June.
"Myla," the owner said walking up to her; he put a bag in her hand; it was sort of heavy."A going away gift?" Myla tilted her head. "Don't open it till you get home. See you in June."
"Thank you," Myla smiled. "See you in June." Myla got home to red and blue star fireworks bouncing off the wall. "Who put up the fireworks?"
"We did of course," Fred and George smiled.
"We outdid ourselves this year," Fred smirked.
"Have to go bigger next year," George proposed.
"As long as you two don't blow up the house," Mom said.
"Yes, ma'am," the two responded; the fireworks continued to go off.
"Can I stay up a little later tonight?" Myla requested.
"We are leaving in the morning for the train," Mum reminded her. "I'll be more comfortable if you went to bed at the same time as everyone else."
"She hasn't finished packing," Ginny spoke up. "Can't choose what clothes to bring."
"You should've been packed two days ago," Dad reminded her. "Why did you wait?"
"In case I change my mind on what to bring, putting the whole suitcase out of packing order," Myla answered.
"You can stay up two hours later," Mom allowed. "But you best be ready to go in the morning."
"I will," Myla assured. "I'll start packing now."
"Wait till after the fireworks," Fred said grabbing her shoulders.
"Can I stay up with Lala?" Ginny asked; putting her hands together.
"Absolutely not," Mom, Dad, and Percy denied.
Myla shot Ginny a glance; then mouthed. "It'll be our secret." After a cup of mum's legendary hot chocolate, all the students went upstairs to get ready for the big day tomorrow. Myla began to rearrange her suitcase, taking things in and out. Ginny was in bed staring out the window.
"Excited for tomorrow?" Myla asked as she folded a shirt.
Ginny looked at her with a big smile. "Nervous and excited. I hope I get in the same house as all of you."
"You will," Myla assured as she put books in.
"How can you be so sure?" Ginny asked.
"Your a Weasely," Myla answered. "The hat has gotta be mad to separate us." Ginny got up; walked over to a bag on Myla's desk. "Oh, that was from the shop."
"What is it?" Ginny asked as Myla walked over. "Have you opened it yet?"
"I can do it now before I have to do a huge rearrangement in my suitcase," Myla said as she grabbed the bag; she put it in the middle of the room. Myla pulled out a wrapped item, then neatly opened that revealing an old vintage suitcase.
"What an odd gift from your boss," Ginny said, crossing her arms. Myla laid flat; then opened it, revealing numerous books and potion ingredients.
"It's brilliant," Myla smiled. "Nothing wrong with an extra suitcase either. "I'll ask dad to put an extension charm on it like he's done with the others."
"Is this going to put rearrangement on your packing?" Ginny asked as Myla closed the suitcase and then went to leave.
"Of course it will," Myla confirmed as she left the room. She went up to the fourth floor in; knocking on it.
"You are supposed to be in bed!" Mom shouted.
"It'll just take a minute!" Myla exclaimed as continued to knock. Myla put her ear to the door; she heard whispering that sounded more like arguing.
"Come in, Lala," Dad said in a cheerful voice, Myla happily opened the door. "What you got there?"
"A gift from the bookstore from the owner," Myla answered. "There's some books and potion supplies in it."
"That was very thoughtful of him," Mum smiled as took the suitcase; opening it.
"Dad, I was wondering if you could put a little extension charm on it?" Myla requested. "To just fit some other school supplies into it?" She put her hands behind her back, giving a smile.
"Of course," Dad said grabbing his shoulders. "I recognize your desire to separate clothes and supplies...wise choice."
"Thanks, Daddy," Myla smiled as Dad grabbed his wand.
Dad walked over to the suitcase as Mum closed it. "Capacious extremis."
"How much longer are you going be up for?" Mum asked she opened the suitcase.
"Oh, not too much longer," Myla answered. "Not too worried; I'm not driving, and I can just sleep on the train if anything."
"Ah," Dad said as Mum closed it. "The train ride to Hogwarts did always give great sleep; here you go pumpkin."
"Thanks again," Myla said as he was handed the suitcase. "See you both in the morning." She kissed their cheeks before heading back down to her and Ginny's room. Packing only took about twenty minutes; sorted her suitcases along switching clothes in and out again. Myla swore she would have slept better if it wasn't for Ginny's excitement
Everyone was awake at dawn, and it was nothing but chaos. Mom dashed all around the house looking for things people couldn't find. Lots of collisions on the staircase, and dad almost tripped over a chicken. Soon all 11 people, two owls, and a rat were in the car. They had to turn back multiple times, for George's box of Filibuster Fireworks, Fred's broomstick, and Ginny's diary. With how late they were running; mum struck her foot down on dad flying the car with the invisibility booster on. This was the faster Myla had ever seen Percy move as they dashed to the platform.
"10:58," Dad read. "Come on, come on."
"Train will be leaving any moment, "Mum added.
"Fred, George, Percy, you first," Dad instructed.
"Then you Ginny," Myla instructed. "I'll be right behind you." They all went, as Myla said she was right behind her sister. They were given the usual speel about being good at school, hugs, and kisses, and they were on the train. Ginny cried a little as they waved bye to mum and dad. "Alright, let's find you a place to sit."
"You aren't sitting with me?" Ginny asked as Myla began to check the compartments.
"No," Myla laughed; Ginny was not happy. "The train is one of the first places you meet your friends; someone to stick by throughout Hogwarts. It's how Ron and I met Harry."
"You met him at the bookstore," Ginny corrected.
"Ron at least," Myla said as she opened a compartment revealing a girl with waist-length blonde hair, and blue eyes. "Are you a first-year?"
"Yes," the girl nodded. "I am Luna Lovegood...tell me does Hogwarts have items to keep the nargles away?"
"Nargles?" Myla repeated.
"They infest mistletoes and tend to be mischievous creatures," Luna answered as she pulled out a magazine. "Quibbler?"
"Sure," Myla answered taking; she noticed the cover was upside down. "Luna...I am Myla Weasley."
"Oh, dad and I know all about you," Luna spoke. "Gave us a well-needed laugh with your arrest from a long time ago."
"Glad some people find it humorous," Myla smiled. "Would it be okay, if my sister Ginny, sits with you?"
"Lala!" Ginny exclaimed as Myla pushed her into the room.
"The train takes about eight hours," Myla informed. "Take the time to get to know each other." With that, Myla made her way down the train; finding a compartment filled with Marco, Seika, and Halle.
"What took you so long?" Seika asked. "I was getting worried that you didn't make the train?"
"It was a close call," Myla informed as she put her luggage up. "Though my baby sister Ginny is starting Hogwarts this year; I was finding her a compartment."
"Is she excited?" Marco as Myla sat next to Halle.
"Kept me up all night with her excitement questions," Myla answered. " How many lavatories does Hogwarts have? When does quidditch start? How many exams are there? Who will be my teachers?"
Can you believe THE Gilderoy Lockhart will be our Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher?" Halle asked as she crossed her arms. "My mum loves him, while my auntie despises him and calls him phony." Myla looked at the others. "How was the rest of your summers and ambitions for school?"
"I've decided to be more attentive toward potions this year," Halle answered. "I want to invent potions; but not in the same sense as you."
"What direction do you plan on taking with yours?" Marco asked.
"A beauty direction," Halle answered. "There's only one beauty shop and it tends to be in Diagon Alley; there should be one at Hogsmeade, where a lot of teens visit on the weekends."
"Ambitious," Myla smiled. "I like it...how about you Seika?"
"I may try joining a club," Seika answered. "I want to be a bit more outgoing this year."
"Which ones do you have in mind?" Halle asked.
Seika took a deep breath. "I'm thinking the Gobstone club or the knitting club." The three nodded.
"I'm going to try out for Slytherin's cheer team," Marco informed. "I'm just worried about what my brother would say."
"Forget him," Halle advised. "His nasty opinions will only hold you back from your potential." They talked for a few hours, Myla then duplicated herself. "Don't cause too much trouble."
"I won't," Myla promised, she stayed as her clone left the room. Her clone walked down the train, she found Hermione sitting all by herself; she seemed upset. "Hermione?"
"Myla!" Hermione lit up. "I thought you all decided to not sit with me." Myla looked around the room to see only Hermione's suitcase.
"My brother and Harry aren't with you?" Myla asked as she sat next to Hermione.
"I thought they were with you," Hermione sniffed back tears; Myla shook her head. "Then who?"
Myla thought about it, she check back on her memory; her eyes widen. "I think they missed the train."
"What?" Hermione asked in surprise. "How could they miss it?"
"We got here late," Myla answered. "I didn't see any of them at the platform as we said goodbye to mum and dad." Hermione grew worried. "Don't worry, Mione...Ron will most likely come up with a plan; no matter how horrible it is."
"How bad of a plan could it be?" Hermione asked with a light smile.
Myla looked out the window to see a familiar blue car driving erratically in the sky. "That bad." Hermione looked out the window, her mouth dropped open as they saw Harry dangle from the car seat. "I am certain you are the brains of your friend group Hermione...my brother isn't dumb, but combined with Harry...those two are complete idiots."

Myla ended up sitting in a carriage with Hermione on the way to Hogwarts so she wouldn't have to sit alone, they were now in the great hall listening to the sorting ceremony. Myla noticed Snape disappear from his chair going out the back; she then looked back to see Ron and Harry peeking through the door.
"What are you looking at?" Dean asked.
"Wanna know how Ron and Harry got to school?" Myla asked; people around her looked. "Ron flew the car."
"He flew the car?" Fred asked with a wicked smile as he looked back. "Are you sure?"
"Thre Harry out the door; almost killing him," Myla answered as they clapped for the student just sorted. "Isn't that Ms. Granger?"
"Sadly, yes," Hermione sighed as she tried to lower her head. Luna ended up getting sorted in Ravenclaw; and as Myla predicted Ginny got sorted in Gryffindor. Ginny's face was full of relief to be placed in the house of her siblings. Conversations exploded once the feast started; Myla pointed to plates that she knew Ginny would enjoy most.
"Is it true?" Ginny asked. "I heard you whispering about Ron driving dad's car to school?"
Someone leaned over and whispered in Myla's ear. "It's true...they even crashed into the Whomping Willow."
"What's that?" Colin Creevy asked.
"It's a tree that attacks anyone and anything that came into its range with its branches," Percy answered. "So, never go near it." The first years quickly nodded.
"Is it a creature?" Ginny asked with nervousness.
"A magical tree," Neville answered. "Most herbologists have difficulty tending to them; they are very rare."Myla looked over at him; he seemed different from the last time she saw him. "Neville stopped coming around to Diagon Alley p two weeks before school started."
"So Colin, what are you looking forward to most?" Seamus asked. "Potions?"
"Don't ever be near Finnigan when he has a cauldron by him," Myla advised. "Might just blow your face off."
"Bloody, I'd wear protection around him when he has his wand out," Dean added.
"Hahaha," Seamus faked laughing as Dean and Myla high-fived. "This year will be different, I'll keep my eyebrows! You'll see?"
"Five sickles says he loses it in the first week," George bet.
"First day," Fred countered.
Soon; they all were escorted to Gryffindor tower; Myla was chatting among others went eh door opened.
Lee Jordan pulled Ron and Harry through; Hermione scrambled in after. "Brilliant! What an entrance! Flying a car into the Whomping Willow, people'll be talking about that one for years---"
"Good for you," a fifth-year complimented.
Fred and George pushed their way through the front. "Why couldn't we've come in the car, eh?" Everyone was happy besides Percy and Hermione.
"Did you lose us points already?" Seika asked.
"It's the start of term," Halle reminded. "There are no points to be lost."
"Detentions are probably being put in order," Myla smiled. "Hell, they might even break my detention record with how they started."
"Let's not make something like that into a contest," Percy scolded; he was furious.
"Got to get upstairs," Ron began. "Bit tired." They pushed their way to the spiral staircase; soon everyone went up as well, and classes were starting tomorrow. An extension charm was used on the room; so all girl six girls could be in the same room; extra window. Lavender, Pavarti, and Hermione on one side, Seika, Halle, and Myla on the other side.
"Myla is everything alright?" Lavender asked. "You seemed less outgoing at the Great Hall than usual."
Pavarti laughed. "She was just probably scheming about things to invent...inventors can be silent when ideas are turning in their head."
"She seemed perfectly normal to me," Hermione said as she pulled the blanket over her. "Had absolutely no issue about commenting on Seamus's little explosion problem." Lavender and Pavarti giggled. Soon all girls, but Myla was fast asleep. With the type of day Myla had, starting at dawn, she was sure she'd sleep well tonight. She ended up falling asleep in defeat not figuring out what was keeping her awake.
