Kalos, where dreams and adventures begin- That title didn't suit Kalos anymore. Now it was where you worst nightmares begin- in fact, the whole world was like this, ever since Team Flare had taken over.

Nothing had been right.

The young girl shivered in the rain as she stood in front of the collapsed building. She just had to hope everything would be right again...

"Miette!"

I slammed my notebook shut. I shouldn't be writing at a time like this. I sighed, and kept noting down the people who died in the explosion yesterday. Stupid office job.

I wasn't always working in an office. I used to have an ego, or two, or three, or four. Let's just say I had a lot. Anyway, I used to work as a spy, a pokepuff baker, and a girl who charms other boys for money.

Until something happened, and it wasn't safe for egos anymore. I lost my job as a spy, and my bakery got took down, and I had nowhere to go because my parents kicked me out of the house, which wasn't something very nice to do to a 14-year-old. What's that something? Team Forever.

(different PoV that isn't Miette's)

I walked down the empty streets of what was once lumiose city. I missed my hometown back in Shalour, Lucario, and my gym. But then, it wasn't so much my home town anymore. Shalour City had been turned into an outpost for Team Forever, and it wasn't safe to stay in the gym anymore. The weaver of fate had just had her eyes plucked out to mess this up.

I came to Lumiose City for one reason- a letter. I had been writing to the trainers I met once, long ago. Then they stopped writing for months. Just last week, one of them sent me a letter. His handwriting was rushed, and ink splattered all over the page. He told me to come here, but there was nothing to come to anymore. His gym is ruined, his dream crushed, and the one girl he used to love worried to death about his best friend. I guess he never thought about me the same way I thought about him, or the way he thought about her.

I came to a stop at the old subway station entrance. Dare I go in?

Go on, his voice nudged me. Just do it.

Slowly, slowly, I took a step down. And another. And another.

It felt like an eternity until I reached the bottom. I pulled out a flashlight, and began searching for the keypad that i can type the passcode into. My hand found the palm hole, which I pressed. The wall slid apart, and I slipped in, the wall turning behind me. Slowly, I did the four steps on the floor, which served as a giant keypad. 6...2...7...4... there! the small door slowly swung open, revealing the dimly lit corridor that would eventually lead into the central common room.
