Chapter 4
On the fourth day of containment, Ta'lali had to fight to keep her eyes open. Weak from blood loss and food deprivation, she didn't even notice when Charity brought her a new dress that fitted her newly skeletal body.
" You look so much healthier when you aren't gorging on the suffering of the innocent." Charity crooned, gently washing the scabbed over wounds.
Ta'lali's golden eyes were dull, and Charity frowned.
" You should be thanking me. I could've killed you on the street."
Ta'lali whimpered and Charity patted her gently on the head.
" But I didn't! Aren't you glad?" She said, rinsing Ta'lali's blood encrusted face with a warm washcloth.
" I'm your savior." Charity whispered.
Ta'lali fell asleep, and Charity stood up and glared at the demon.
Carefully, she pulled out the vial of liquid and put it to Ta'lali's lips, pushing just a bit of the murky liquid into her mouth.
Ta'lali spat violently, convulsing at the taste.
" What was that!?" She asked.
Charity left the room without another word, leaving Ta'lali to wonder if she was to be in this private hell for the rest of her life.
