Draco's pov:
The day after Ron broke into Hermione's house in the middle of the night, we woke up late that morning. Hermione was scrambling to collect her things she needed for work. I woke up to the sound of her groaning loudly. "Ugh! Where did I put my badge?" Her hair was still a mess. Complete contrast to her pristine work outfit.
"In the bedside table." I rolled to my side to look at her better. She walked over and a sigh of relief escaped her lips upon spotting it. "Have a good day at work, ok? I'll be waiting for you here when you get back."
"I'll be back at about 5:30. I'll bring you home something sweet if you make dinner tonight." She smiled and kissed my lips softly. "I love your cooking." She walked to the door but turned to look at me again. "I love you, Draco. Send me your patronus if something happens." And then she was gone.
I got out of the bed after she left. I was still in my clothes from the night before so I decided to go to my room to change. There was a dark oak wardrobe in my room that held all of my shirts and a matching dresser for the rest of my clothes. I grabbed a white button down and a pair of jeans. Then I headed to the shower.
When I looked at myself in the mirror, I didn't see the same familiar stranger I had 5 months prior. Nor did I see the person I grew up knowing as myself. Hermione had changed me in the little time I had been with her. My hair was messier, as apposed to being slicked back. My clothes were brighter, where as before they consisted of mostly black. Even my skin and hair had darkened a bit from going out more rather than staying in.
I turned on the shower and stepped in. The immediate cold, knocked the wind out of me for a second but quickly began warming. Soon it was hot enough to leave my skin a blazing red.
I let out a soft sigh and ran my hands through my hair, dampening it as I did so.
Then I began to lather it up with a lavender scented shampoo, taking my time to savor the feeling. The small bathroom filled with the smell of the purple flower causing me to smile slightly. It was Hermione's shampoo but I loved using it.
I rinsed my hair and moved to wash the dirt from my body before stepping back out of the shower and shutting the water off. I wrapped a towel around my waist, left the bathroom, and made my way to my room.
I didn't even make it to the door of my room before I heard a noise. Cautiously, I made my way to the living room, wand in hand. When I arrived, I saw Harry, standing there quietly. He looked at me and tried not to laugh.
"Looking good Malfoy. Want a shirt? Or are you gonna keep walking around naked?" He asked with a slightly amused tone.
"Look Potter, you're the one who let yourself in. Hermione isn't here, by the way." I turned and walked to my room, Harry following suit.
"Yeah I know. I came to talk to you." He started as I began to dress myself. "Ron is beyond pissed. I swear he wants you dead. And he would kill you himself if I weren't stopping him."
I looked at him and raised a single eyebrow. "So? What does that have to do with you talking to me? I already knew he was livid." I stated blankly as I began to button my white, dress shirt.
"That's the thing, you don't actually know how mad he is. I think he might try to hurt either you or Hermione. My guess is that it's you but I don't put it past him to hurt her for being with you. He thinks you're unpure and that you tainted her."
I looked at him shocked. "If he really cared about her, why would he hurt her?" I was a little worried now but not enough to show
"He thinks that the best thing to do is to rid every trace of you from her. By whatever means necessary."
"And he could very well do that if he wanted. There's a bloody spell for it!" Now I was truly worried. I pulled my wand out, and cast my patronus. A small otter bounced around before landing directly in front of me. "Go to Hermione. Tell her to be on guard. That Ron might try to obliviate me from her mind. And that I want her to be safe at all costs. Even if that means leaving work and coming home right away." I sent it off and watched as it disappeared into the wall. I sat anxiously while I waited for her reply, completely forgetting Potter was there.
"It'll be alright." He said, causing me to jump slightly. "I'll go watch out for her. I have to go to work anyways. I'll see you later Malfoy." Then he left.
I sat on my bed for a couple minutes longer before I saw another glowing otter appear through the wall. It spoke in Hermione's voice. "Draco darling, I'll be alright. He won't be able to harm me here. I'll be home later and we can talk, ok? I love you and stay calm." It kissed me on the cheek before disappearing.
I touched my cheek with my fingertips. I couldn't feel the kiss but I know it had happened. My he'd fell forward and my shoulders slumped, causing my arms to fall at my side. "This woman will be the death of me." My breath was practically a whisper.
Bellamy came up to me and began to purr loudly while rubbing in between my legs. I smiled sadly at him but decided to put on some real clothes, not just stay in my towel.
I changed into a simple grey T-shirt and some nice fitting jeans. Once I was done, I went back into the living room to feed Bellamy. "There you go. Might as well spend this time with you while I can. Merlin knows what's to happen next." I sat on the ground and let my back and head fall against the wall. My eyes fell closed and I let out a groan.
I stayed like that for a few hours. Just sitting there, thinking about how I was gonna get out of this mess with my mind still in tact. Hermione was gonna be home in a couple hours. I had spent the majority of the day on the floor. So I pushed myself up, though I struggled a bit. I made my way to the kitchen and began making dinner for when Hermione arrived. It only took about an hour and a half to make everything. The table was set up in another 10 minutes and whine was poured in another two. When she finally got home I had drank about three glasses of whine. I was stressing myself out, thinking about what Weasley was going to do.
"Dinner looks lovely, Draco." She said as she sat across from me at the table.
"Thank you. I worked hard on it." At this point, I wasn't drunk but I was a little buzzed as I finished off my fourth glass of wine. I was far from a light weight, having spent an entire year doing nothing but drink.
"How many glasses have you had?" She asked without looking up from the steak she was cutting.
"More than you would like but less then I would." My reply was devoid of any emotion as I stared at my empty glass. I knew better than to pour myself another. "So four." I set my glass down on the table and looked up at her.
She wasn't looking at me though. She had her eyes closed and was pinching the bridge of her nose. "Draco, I thought we talked about this. No more than one glass of you're preferred alcoholic beverage. Four is way over that." She sounded exhausted and I felt sad at the thought that I made her feel that way.
"I'm sorry. I was just stressed today. I was worried about you and..." I let out a sigh. "And I felt like this was the only way to calm myself down." I finished in a whisper.
She finally looked up at me and smiled sadly. She rose from her seat and made her way to sit on my lap, wrapping her arms around my neck. "It's alright. Just next time, call me home. I can take some personal time if you need me. Just please don't go back to drinking like you did. Okay?" Her voice was soft and she rested her head on my shoulder.
I wrapped my arms around her torso and pulled her closer. "Ok. I promise to call you home next time." I kissed her on the forehead and just held her for a while longer.
We stayed like that for a couple of minutes before she sat up and looked at me. She leaned forward and kissed me softly. I pulled her closer, deepening the kiss. She let out a soft gasp and I took this chance to slip my tongue into her mouth. She moaned quietly and slipped her hand into my hair, tugging lightly. I slid my hand up the back of her shirt and scratched down her back. She moaned louder and tugged harder on my hair. I detached my lips from hers and started to kiss and lick down her neck.
She pulled back and was breathing hard. "Draco, don't. You've had to much to drink and I don't want our first time to be like this." Her voice was rough and she had a look in her eye that was full of disappointment.
"I'm ok, I'm barely even buzzed. I can still make my own decisions. Come on, 'Mione. Please? I promise to be gentle." I said in a soft voice, as I trailed my fingers up and down her spine.
She paused for a minute and bit her lip. "O-okay. But if I want to stop, we stop. Alright?" She said hesitantly.
I smiled and picked her up and carried her to the bedroom. She let out a giggle as I plopped her down on the bed. "At any point you can tell me to stop." She nodded and I began to kiss down her neck and remove her clothes. All the while telling her how beautiful she was.
