Draco's POV:

Hermione had been making me stay at her house so she can 'keep a better eye' on me, as she put it. I didn't mind, I liked waking up every morning to her smell filling my senses. I stayed in the guest bedroom, it only being the next room over from hers.

When I woke up, I checked my arm to make sure it was still healing properly. A large, bright pink scar covered most of the soft flesh of my forearm. It still hurt but was just a dull throbbing most the time. I swung my legs over the bed and felt the cold hardwood floor under my bear feet. It had been close to a month sense I was released from the hospital. Sense Hermione kissed me. I hadn't had a drink sense then. Nor had I kissed her again. It was still to early for us.

I made my way to the shower with a fresh change of clothes and a towel in hand, turning the water on once the door was closed. As I waited for the water to heat up, I began to take my clothes off, looking at my thin frame in the mirror. I looked horrid. My ribs were grossly visible, protruding out and appearing like they would break through my skin at any moment. My skin was so pail it looked transparent. My eyes were sunken in and looked clouded over. As I stared at the familiar stranger looking back at me, a wave of disgust washed over me at what I had let myself become. My parents would be ashamed of me if they could see me now.

I stepped into the shower, letting the hot water run over my skin, turning it a bright pink in response. My hair flattened and I ran a hand through it. Slicking it back like I used to when I was in school. Tears fell without my consent and mixed with the fresh water as a sob escaped my lips. How can I even be here knowing that I did nothing to stop what they did to her. I let a low yell of pure rage out as I pulled at my hair.

A soft knock on the door pulled me out of my self loathing long enough to hear a gentle voice from the other side. "Draco? Are you you ok? Do you need something?" Hermione asked and stepped into the bathroom. Only the shower curtain separating us.

I didn't say anything as I shut the water off and slipped my arm out of the curtain. She handed me the towel and I wrapped it around my waist. I stepped out timidly and heard her gasp at seeing my full body for the first time. Tears made their way to her eyes as she reached out and gently touched my ribs. I looked away in shame but she threw her arms around me and cried into my chest as soon as I did. "I'm sorry." I mumbled to her and more tears streamed down my face.

She pulled away and looked into my eyes. "Please don't. This isn't your fault. Don't blame yourself. Just promise me you'll try to get better."

"I promise I'll try." I said with a weak smile. "For you, I'll try." I kissed the top of her head and closed my eyes before moving back and picking up my clothes from the counter. She blushed before leaving me to change. I quickly put on a pair of dark blue skinny-jeans and a black, button up dress shirt that I left unbuttoned. The towel rested on my shoulders as I walked out of the bathroom and into the living room. Hermione sat on the couch with her cat curled up next to her. She was reading a book quietly and didn't hear me walk up to her. "Hey..." I mumbled as I sat next to her and picked her cat up, placing it on my lap. It layed back down immediately, purring softly as I pet it's soft ears. "What are you reading?"

"Just a collection of muggle books in one, my father used to love reading to me." She said with a sad smile. "It's about a detective who uses deduction to solve all sorts of different cases." She closed the book and placed it beside her.

"Sounds interesting. Mind if I borrow it once you're done?"

She looked at me with a pleased smile and nodded. "Of course. I'd be happy to let you read it." She stood up and walked to the kitchen. "What do you want for breakfast?"

"I don't really care. Anything's alright." I looked down at the now sleeping cat in my lap. He is so cute. Why don't I have a cat?

I didn't hear her walk back up to me and jumped slightly when I felt a soft hand under my chin, lifting my face to meet hers. "Draco, please. What do you want?" Her voice was soft and she was so close.

"You." I didn't even realize what I had said till it was too late. Shock flashed in her eyes before a seductive smile replaced the shock.

"Is that so?" She pulled me up off the couch slowly. The cat jumping to the floor and trotted to the kitchen. I couldn't look away from her. She was so beautiful. I wanted every part of her. She kissed my lips teasingly slow, causing me to groan before wrapping my arms around her waist. I licked her bottom lip asking for permission to enter, which she granted instantly. She slid her hands up my chest and into my hair, pulling softly. I let out another groan before pulling her, flush against body. I could feel her heart beat rapidly but in time with mine. and then it was over. She pulled away with a smirk and looked at me innocently. "Are eggs and bacon ok?" She asked sweetly.

I just nodded breathlessly and followed her into the kitchen. "The things you do to me witch." She simply giggled in response as I wrapped my arms around her waist.

We slowly became closer as time passed. I began to gain weight, returning to my former self. My scar, fading from a bright pink to a patchy white. After about 4 more months of me staying with Hermione, her friends began to worry as to why they hadn't seen her in so long. One Saturday afternoon, there was a knock on the door while we were sitting on the couch reading together, my head in her lap. "I'll get it." She said as she gently got up and answered the door.

As it was opened, Ron and Harry pushed their way in and bombarded her with questions. "'Mione, where the bloody hell have you been? We haven't seen you in months! You don't even owl anymore! What the hell? Last time we saw you, you were running after bloody Draco!" Ron rushed out, Harry nodded beside him.

Hermione simply rolled her eyes and made her way back to me. I watched as the two stood there in shock at seeing me lift my head for her to sit back down, then lay my head back in her lap. "I've been busy boys. And if I remember correctly, you haven't owled either." She said as she picked her book back up.

"What is he doing here?" Ron yelled, his face almost as red as his hair.

Hermione looked down at me, and i back up at her, before her gaze returned to her book. "He has lived here for about five months now. Which you would know if you had cared to check in before now. Bloody git." She mumbled the last part only loud enough for me to hear, causing me to suppress a laugh.

Ron only glared at me, whereas Harry walked up to me. "How are you, Draco?" His voice was soft. As though he thought I would break if he spoke to loudly.

"Better... A lot has changed sense the last time you saw me. I may look like shit right now but I almost died before Hermione found me." I laughed awkwardly and rubbed the back of my neck. "That's why I'm here. She has been watching me... Making sure I eat and don't try to kill myself...again." I said the last part quietly. I looked up to see Ron's anger simmer down.

"Plus he's my boyfriend." Hermione added without looking up from her book.

"Oh and that." I agreed and Ron lost it.

"Excuse me? Draco Malfoy is your boyfriend? I don't bloody think so!" He drew his wand and pointed it at me.

"Weasley, did you you not just hear what I said? I'm not afraid to die. Give it your best shot." I said but Hermione looked up at him and drew her wand as soon as I finished. She disarmed him and was on her feet in front of him before he could blink. Her quickly standing, however sent me to the floor with a loud thud.

"First, you show up at my house and come in uninvited. Then you draw your wand on my boyfriend? I should hex you Ronald Weasley." She said in a calm voice, her wand pressed to his throat dangerously. I placed my hand in her shoulder but she shook it off. "Don't try to stop me, Harry. He has it coming and you know it."

"I'm not Harry, love. Let him go." I said and gently lowered her arm. She took a step back and glared at Ron. "Leave." I said to them without looking away from Hermione.

Ron stormed out, Harry waiting for him to leave before turning to us. "I'm sorry. I'll be back. Without him next time." And then he left.

"Hermione, look at me." I said in a soft voice after a moment of them being gone. She looked up at me and I saw the pain in her eyes. "Why do you look so sad? Nothing bad happened. I'm still here." I cupped her cheek with my hand.

"Why would you say something like that? Like you aren't afraid to die. Aren't afraid to to leave me." She said and a tear slipped out from behind her eye, causing my heart to break.

"I'm not going to leave you. I promise. he wouldn't have hurt me. Not with you right there. I was just being an ass." I kissed her forehead softly. She nodded at me and I smiled at her. "So I'm officially your boyfriend now am I?"

She rolled her eyes and sat back down on the couch with a smile. "I guess that's what I said. Isn't it."

I smiled at her and layed back down in my original spot with my head in her lap. "Good. I like that thought."

"Guess you'll have to take me on an official date now, won't you?" She said with a smirk.

"Anything for you, love." I smirked back.
