Chapter [17]

Sunny laid in his bed, staring at the ceiling as the sun started to slowly set and is no longer shining. Sunny felt... gloomy. The opposite of the actual adjective.
Everything has changed ever since.

Beatrice's funeral is happening in two weeks. Sunny just can't bare to go, but a voice was screaming inside of him saying Go, it's for Beatrice for troll's sake.

He sighed and sat up from his bed, his back leaning against the wall beside him. He planned to gather all the Infinite Flowers from Beatrice's bunker (which he looked inside to remember his memories of Beatrice) and lay them in her grave. It had to be special in Sunny's mind. Beatrice is and was special to him. He had to do something for her.

He got up from bed and walked to a mirror. His bright smile disappeared. He saw the sad frown on his face, especially his bright and colorful skin. He shook his head and decided to wipe the paint off.
He looked himself in the mirror again and saw his gray self. Beatrice wouldn't care whether he was gray or not, she wouldn't judge him by his looks nor his mood. Beatrice would've loved him no matter what.

He reached for his phone to test something. He grasped it tightly and went to the contacts. His finger was about to tap Beatrice's contact, but he hesitated. Then he thought about it for a moment and started calling Beatrice. He waited for a while, and then a voice was heard.

'Unless you're Sunny, please leave a message after the beep'

Sunny sighed. He finally heard Beatrice's voice after almost an eternity. He missed her soft voice that made him smile. In fact, he started to smile. A sad one. He waited for a while to think of something to leave a message, even though he knew that she wasn't gonna receive it, he just decided to say something. "Hey Beatrice," he chuckled sadly, a small frown on his face. "I love you,"

Two weeks later, Beatrice's funeral was happening. Sunny dressed up into a black suit with a bouquet of flowers. Beatrice's grave was filled with Infinite Flowers from Sunny truly. It was a beautiful sight. Sunny smiled at the sight as well, tears forming in his eyes. River was there too, but she left early before Sunny could.
Sunny walked towards her grave and knelt beside it, laying the bouquet of flowers on top. He looked at the carving from her tomb stone. Beatrice Leaf 1990-2012

"Hey Beatrice," he sat beside her while lighting up a candle. He decided to lay down and stare at the bright sky. He sighed while fumbling with his fingers. He wasn't so sure what to say.

"I miss you, I really do," he sighed. He stared at the blooming flower planted beside her grave. It looked beautiful. Just like her.
"You better not be having fun without me," he chuckled, smiling and blushing only a little bit. It ached his heart a little to see her like this; without talking to her, seeing her nor hearing her. He took out his phone to contact her again, and received that same moment where she speaks. He tried his best not to cry.

"I'm sorry it had to end like this. You deserved to live a longer life— with me," tears started forming in his eyes. He has failed to stop them. He wiped them away, feeling pain, anger and sadness, the stages of grief.
He tried thinking of other things to take his mind out of it for a while. He didn't want to cry in front of other trolls weeping for their loved ones who has passed away as well. He thought that he would look like a coward.

Suddenly, he realized something. Star.
