Chapter [14]

Sunny sighed as he leaned his head against the cage. Chef just have took off to find Troll Village, thanks to Sunny's directions.
Sunny was left bleeding and in pain. He wiped off the blood repeatedly. He thought of Beatrice all over and over again. His mind was filled of her, especially the times when she smiles. He thought of her smile as precious and bright as the sun. He treasured those moments, of course. He loved them. He loved her.

He saw the grey figure in the corner of his eye again. He felt irritated because of how it could've been Beatrice without actually doing anything. But the male troll knew that she wouldn't do anything just like that. It just felt wrong to him. He turned his head towards the figure to see who it really was.
The grey figure moved and hid behind a jar. Sunny absolutely knew that it wasn't Beatrice.

"Hey, come here. Please don't hide," Sunny said softly, carefully trying not to scare the troll. He saw the troll slightly peeking. He saw that she had bright purple eyes and a purple nose. She looked younger than the age of Sunny and Beatrice. She had grey skin with dark hair. She looked slightly afraid as well, but Sunny just smiled warmly. "Hey there..."
"Holy moly, she wrecked you good," the troll mumbled and stepped out from behind the jar. Sunny blinked, then he looked away and chuckled. "—which is also why I should leave."

"—which isn't gonna be happening," she said and walked up towards the cage. Sunny honestly thought that he should actually leave, but he's starting to get concerned about this other grey troll in front of him. "And why's that?"
"Chef's got control of me. Not literally. I'm— working for her," she said while looking away. Her hands were stuffed in her pockets while her sewed up dress was waving with the wind, as if creating a graceful dance. The window was opened, it was starting to get chilly.

"How?" He asked. The troll looked at him in guilt. She rubbed her arm, "Lets just say that it's for me to know, and for you to find out."

"Cmon, just let me out," he stood up in front of her and held the bars tightly. Despair and sadness was in his tone, and the troll of course noticed.
"My best friend is waiting for me out there," he said. Hurt was in his voice as well. "She needs me and I need her," he took a second to catch his breath. "Please..."

"Alright, alright. I'm so gonna be dead," the troll took out a pin from her hair to unlock the lock from his cage. Sunny quickly stepped out and stretched his arms, hearing a quiet crack.
"I was a bit cramped in there," he explained.
"Didn't ask," she shrugged. Sunny smiled and looked at her with a sparkle in his eyes. "So what's your name?"
"Starlight, but you can call me Star."

I ran towards the kitchen where Sunny just might be. I was pretty worried because on the way here, I heard a lot of screaming and crashing. I don't even wanna think about it.
"Huh," River whispered beside me. We were hiding from above a chandelier, carefully watching a Bergen wearing a white dress approach to what seems like the king.

"Your majesty," she bowed.
"Rise," said the king. The Bergen with the white dress stood back up. She had an evil grin mixed with a scary smirk. Her teeth were yellow and sharp. Something no one would want to be near to.

"I have found the location of Troll Village, sire," she said and held out a map. It had a giant red thumbtack pinned on a location surrounded by trees and many mountains. I knew for a fact that it wasn't the right location of Troll Village.
"But how?" asked the Bergen king. "It took us a ton of years to find it!"
"Alas, that rancid Troll I have caught in my traps told me," she smiled pridefully. Rancid Troll caught in her trap? Sunny. He lied.

"He told me the exact location. It wasn't that easy though, it took— sweat and tears," she said metaphorically with an even wider smirk. Now I was even more worried about Sunny than I was before. River was looking around and saw the door of the kitchen slightly cracked open. River darted her head towards it as she looked at me, then I nodded my head and decided to stealthily head there.

"My assistant is taking care of him, now—,"

I stopped and stayed on the chandelier. I peeked again and listened. Assistant?
"Oh, her," the king rolled his eyes. "How do you still trust her? She's a troll for Bergen's sake!"

A troll? Now I was even more curious. River stopped in her tracks to realize I was staying still. She whispered me to keep going but I ignored. The chef chuckled and clasped her hands together. "Oh sire, Star knows what she's capable of. And she knows what will happen if she does something wrong. She's like my little pet," she smiled.
The king decided to nod his head and smile back. "Alright, you are excused."

The chef walked to a different room. River sighed and shook her head, "Cmon Beatrice, we don't have all day," I turned to her. "Okay, I'm ready. Let's just go,"
I couldn't stop thinking, now. Is Sunny alright? Who's Star? What's her deal with Chef? Why is she here? And most importantly... is Sunny okay?
