Two
He was alone, no one by his side. I half-expected him to be wearing a beanie or even have a hood pulled over his head, but no. There was no disguise. I also thought he'd look away when our eyes met but he didn't. So I let my fingers relax and pulled my hand away from Andy's and started towards him.
The smile was hard to keep off my face. I didn't fight it, I let the corners of my mouth stretch until my cheeks were hurting. A laugh slipped out as soon as I'd reached Louis and was standing in front of him.
A grin just as big as mine was on his face.
"New York, huh?" he asked.
I shrugged. "What can I say? I couldn't stay away."
He laughed before his arms wound themselves around my waist and pulled me into a hug. My arms immediately wrapped around his waist - I was far too tiny to rest them around his neck - as my cheek rested on his chest. As I inhaled, I caught a whiff of his cologne, a woodsy one that wasn't very strong.
The hug only lasted for a very short moment and eventually, I felt Louis begin to pull away. I let my arms fall to my sides as Louis grinned down at me.
"What are you doing here? I figured you'd be in UK," I asked curiously.
As far as I knew -- from what the many gossip sites and social media said -- Louis wasn't doing anything big lately. One Direction weren't planning to go on any tours nor was an album going to be released anytime soon. Their separate careers have taken off and were quite successful in doing so, though Louis was simply laying low and relaxing. Enjoying a few years of simplicity, as one site once put it.
Which made me realize he'd probably be in the UK where he lived and would be at home. America was the last place I expected him to be.
He shook his head as he looked down at me, a soft smile on his face. "Nah. Think I happen to like being in America in my free time. It's nice here, yeah?"
I opened my mouth, ready to respond, when a hand was place on my shoulder and pulled me away from Louis. My eyes flickered up to see Andy a tight smile on his face. Immediately the good mood I had dwindled down and my grin vanished.
"Babe, who's this?" he asked, eyes flickering towards Louis.
Louis' eyes flickered between Andy and I before they finally fell onto Andy's hand that still rested on my shoulder.
"Um," I muttered as I took a moment to unscramble my brain. "This is Louis Tomlinson. You know One Direction, right? Well, he's kind of in the band. They're all doing their own thing now, though, but.. This is Louis. Louis, this is my boyfriend, Andy."
A deep red blush filled my cheeks as I introduced the two. It was something I never thought I had to do. Mostly because I never thought I'd ever run into Louis again, but still.
A grin appeared on Andy's face as he pulled me tighter to his side. My hand found a way to his hip. "Morgan, you never told me you were friends with Louis Tomlinson."
The blush deepened. I was pretty sure I looked as red as a lobster by now. "Well we were on rode a bus together a few years ago to Los Angeles. We didn't really stay in touch after that."
Of course that was to my request and I knew I had made the right decision then. My aunt was my sole priority then and that would have never changed no matter what happened. Love would have never changed that decision.
"Well," Louis said, turning to Andy with a smile. "It's nice to meet you but my friend is already here. I'd best leave you two alone." Then he turned to me, his smile softening. "It's good to see you, Morgan. Maybe we can catch up another time if you'd like."
I nodded my head. "Yeah, I'd love to. Dinner, maybe next week? There's this small restaurant that serves really good food. Their lasagna is to die for."
"That sounds fantastic. Your number hasn't changed. It's still the same, right?" he asked.
"Still the same, yes."
"All right. Bye, Morgan. It's good to see you."
Louis then leaned in a corner of his mouth tugged up into a smirk. He pressed his lips to my cheek and dangerously close to the corner of my lips. I felt my heart thud unevenly in my chest as he pulled away. His eyes flickered to Andy for a moment.
"Nice meeting you, Andy," he said before he turned his back and disappeared into the large crowd.

The movie X-Men: Apocalypse was fantastic and I found it amazing. Andy however wasn't entirely a fan of the X-Men movies like I was. When I asked how it was, he simply shrugged and said it was okay.
Even dinner was a quiet affair. We went out for burgers at a small burger joint and afterwards Andy walked me up to my apartment. Throughout the carride and up the flight of steps he was quiet. It worried me.
"Andy," I peeked up at him to see a thoughtful look on his face. "Are you okay? You haven't said much the whole evening. You aren't mad I talked to my friend, are you?"
He shook his head. "No, Morgan, I'm not mad you talked to a friend."
"Then what's wrong?" I pushed the matter a little further. "I can feel it. Something's the matter. Won't you tell me?"
"It's nothing. I promise," Andy leaned down and pressed his lips to my forehead. "But I have been meaning to tell you. Your friend's wedding in a month, in London? I can't make it. My boss won't let me get off work for it. I'm really sorry, babe."
I deflated a little. I'd been really excited to bring Andy to London with me to see Tammy and her soon-to-be-husband Tom. Tammy, too, had been excited to meet my boyfriend of eight months.
I pouted a little, forcing myself to smile at him. "That's okay. Maybe I can take one of my work friends with me. Darcy would love to see London. She'd go nuts."
Darcy was one of the few people at work that I could stand and I thought was funny. She had a sarcastic humor and was really fun to get along with. Also she had a love of food that came in handy on more than a few occasions.
Andy chuckled. He'd met Darcy plenty of times and happened to like her sense of humor. Those two got along pretty well and were friends themselves.
We were at my door and I turned to unlock my apartment and step in. However I stopped when Andy didn't follow me in right away. I turned to him, confused.
"Aren't you coming inside?" I asked him.
Andy shook his head, smiling at me. "No, I'm not. I'm sorry I have an early day tomorrow and I need to get some sleep. How about I'll call you when I'm done with work?"
"Yeah, okay," I nodded my head. "Yeah, call me when you're all settled after work and we can hang out here."
"All right. I'll see you later, babe," Andy said, kissing my forehead again before turning and bouncing down the stairs. However as he left the apartment building, I couldn't help but feel like maybe the reason he was so quiet throughout our date was because Louis showed up out of nowhere.
Or... Maybe I'm just reading too much into things...
I wasn't entirely sure.

"Shut up!" Tammy howling, doubling over in laughter through the screen. The woman clutched at her sides as tears streamed down her face. "He did not!"
I scowled at my best friend in return. It was two in the morning in New York and it was seven in the morning in London, where Tammy currently lived.
I'd just finished telling her my week of work and ended it with the story of one of the worst people I've ever come into contact with at work. And the wench just sat there laughing at my misfortune!
"It's not that funny," I glared at her.
Tammy didn't listen, she was still hunched over laughing her ass off.
"Tammy, I swear to God if you don't stop laughing, I'll hang up on you!"
That sobered her up quickly. She straightened herself out as she wiped the tears from under her eyes. Tammy simply smiled at me sheepishly before apologizing half-heartedly.
"Oh, whatever. So when am I going to meet that boo of yours, hm? I keep hearing about him and you're sending me pictures of the guy - who is gorgeous by the way; he looks like a younger Chris Hemsworth, my goodness - but I've yet to meet him. Is Andy even real?"
I groaned, falling back onto my pillows before burying my face into one. Muffled, I said, "He is too real! And you would have met him at your wedding if his boss let him off work. But he didn't so you're going to have to meet him some other time. So now I got to figure out who else to take with to London. What about Darcy? You like Darcy, right?"
Halfway through speaking, I sat up again and fixed my half-ridden shirt. Tammy groaned, just as disappointed as me, once hearing my boyfriend wasn't able to come.
"What the hell! I was so looking forward to meeting the guy to snag your heart. Tell him I'm disappointed in him and that he still needs my approval to date you - best friend rules."
I snorted, amused by my best friend.
"Oh! And yes, I like Darcy! She's funny and hilarious. Of course she can come to my wedding as your plus one. Oh, and she's super pretty, too, with her long dark hair and her curves. God if I wasn't getting married and I wasn't straight, I would have gone for her. I'm telling you, Morgan. If I was into women, I would have gone for her."
I laughed outright. Another plus side to the Skype call this late was having to listen to Tammy ramble. She tended to do that more in the mornings and late at night. It was funny and I could have listened to her ramble all day long.
"All right," I said, grinning from ear to ear. "I'll ask Darcy when I go into work next. On the next note, however, you would not believe who I ran into while I was on a date with Andy."
Tammy gasped, her fingers twitching as she squirmed in her seat. She demanded to know, "Who! Dammit, Morgan, who? Tell me!"
I laughed. "Louis Tomlinson."
I watched as Tammy freaked out over this and squeal loudly. The woman couldn't keep herself still over this new information and demanded to know more. Like what happened, what did we say and if anything happened.
I shrugged. "I don't know, Tams. I kind of left Andy to go talk to him and we were talking about New York when my boyfriend interrupted to introduce himself. Louis and I agreed to see each other again and planned to have dinner next week at that little restaurant we like. You know the one. He still has my number and is going to text me whenever."
Just as I finished talking though, there was the buzz of my phone going off on my nightstand. Maybe it was Andy. Sighing, I held up a finger while I leaned over to check who it was.
The number was unfamiliar but whoever it was sent me a message. I slid my thumb across the screen, tapped in my passcode and opened the message.
Hi, Morgan. Sorry if I woke you. Are you awake? - Louis T.
A blush crawled across my cheeks and I peeked up at my best friend who was staring at me in curiosity.
"It's Louis," I murmured loud enough for her to hear. "He's wondering if I'm awake."
A shit-eating grin stretched her cheeks. "So?! Text him back! Tell him yes!"
I laughed as I did so, relenting when Tammy asked for the exact words I sent him.
"I told him, 'Yes, I'm awake. Can't you sleep?' Does that satisfy you?" I rolled my eyes at her.
"Yes, it does satisfy me. I'm not the one meeting famous people and running into them by chance. I have to live through you. Duh."
Good. Are you up for a midnight snack? I'll come pick you up and we can find somewhere to eat if you want - Louis T.
My heart thudded unevenly in my chest again as I stared at his text. Two in the morning and he wants me to hang out with him and have dinner? There was only one answer for that.
Yes. I'll be ready in 15. - Morgan
