Chapter One
Peril didn't know what she expected. She had mated with an old freind who shared her scolding burden, but it didn't once cross her mind that she could become pregnant. Queen Scarlet had told her from an accurate Nightwing test, that it was a fact that she probably wouldn't get pregnant. Peril was almost completely infertile. Peril couldn't help but to scowl to know her mind brought Scarlet, of all dragons, into her track of mind in this scenario. It's not time for that. She let out a huff knowing that the egg's father was definately long gone. It's possible to keep her underbelly hidden, maybe she could hide it?
That probably wouldn't work, she absolutely needed help with this anyway. Plus, how would she even hide the bump if everything burns off her body? Rather if she wanted to admit it or not it's the truth. But.. who should she tell? She felt an incredible sinking feeling in her gut as she knew for a fact that her child would have an abundance of fire, possibly even more than her. Would she even be able to touch them, as an egg, as a dragonet? Even with that extra fire, could she touch them without burning them? It would be impossible to take care of them without any type of touch! Unless....
Peril sprinted towards Clay's cave, repeating to herself in her head about how it's for the best, for the egg. For the child. She leaped into the room stunning Clay, who was just about to sink his teeth into an extraordinarily chuncky hippo. Peril jumped in front of him, and began to explain things feverishly fast and hardly understandable. "Whoa whoa, slow down Peril. What's got you so upset?" Peril explained everything, toning down a few events as to not scar Clay for life, and broke into steaming tears near the end.
Clay embraced Peril and did his best to comfort the loudly weeping mother as their scales began to sizzle and mold against eachother like burning clay, neither of them cared much. After a while Peril calmed down and instead of bawling, she let out small, long weeps. Clay offered her a bit of hippo which she devoured greatfully, trying not to scarf it all down with her new but surprisingly tame appitite. They both shared a bond that was unbreakable, and Clay's determined to help one of his best freinds, and crush, through this and if she let's him, be a father figure to the child.

After a few days, Clay and Peril decided to tell the rest of the destiny crew of Peril's pregnancy. They were sure that Sunny would swoon over having a new child in the family, but they sadly weren't sure about everyone else. They hadn't yet told anyone but eachother but they knew that it had to be said if they wanted the help that Peril needed. After telling them, they decided to ask Thorn for advice. The child needed every chance it could get to survive, and they even contemplated asking Stomemover but they put that idea aside a bit. Instead, they decided to ask him for information about the egg's health.
Peril inhaled deeply as Tsunami expertly swooped into the room, followed by a bounding Sunny and thinking Starflight. They all looked extremely curious about the sudden meeting. After a bit, Thorn and Stonemover came in, everyone could tell that they still had quite some tension between eachother but their situation is getting much better than before. Lastly, Glory came in as late as ever, with her normal lazy but authoritive aura. Clay sent Peril a reassuring smile, causing her to gulp and send a shaky grin right back at him.
After a bit, Peril anounced her pregnancy unevenly, causing quite a predictable reaction to come from Sunny, "Oh my gosh! A BABY! OOOH! A BABY BABBBY BABY EGGY BABY~!", Sunny cooed loudly as she knelt down to caress Peril's slightly rounded stomach, only to retract her talon swiftly and painfully from her newly aquired burns. The two of them had become surprisingly close with their somewhat long amount of time spent together. Tsunami had a slightly judgmental look in her eyes, but she kept herself quiet. "Oh, should I pick out a few scrolls to help you?", Starflight asked calmly, causing Peril to agree to that idea. Even if she wasn't very fond of scrolls, it's for the egg. It's quite impressive that so many scrolls are fire-proof now.
"Well, I knew you could do it, Clay!", Glory shouted encouragingly, causing both him and Peril to blush hotly as they tried to explain the truth, "Yeaaa, sure.", Glory replied, throwing a proud wink at Clay. Thorn placed her claw over her stomach for a few seconds and threw Peril a small, encouraging smile causing her to smile right back. It all made her wish she had more time to spend with the strong dragoness, they could be great freinds, but she's a busy queen.
"I've gained quite a bit of my soul back, I could check the egg for you", Stonemover rasped out, but Peril tried to decline. Causing him to decline her decline, and eventually Peril simply gave in to the stubborn old dragon. She might actually think about accepting that offer, but she'll try not to carry out on it. He's regaining his soul, why take it away again? But, before she could finish those thoughts, he grabbed her talon gently and let her to his cave, his rock-like scales temperarily protecting him from her fire. Before she could even open her mouth, he laid her down and put his talons over her slowly growing belly.
"Relax..," Stonemover attempted to sooth the tense dragoness and it worked quite successfuly. After a few moments, the room filled with a thick crimson colored mist. The air suddenly felt heavy and hot, like a rainforest introduced volcanic ashes into its air. "This is.... not good to say the least." Stonemover muttered quietly looking at Peril with sad eyes before clearing his throat and coughing a bit, "The dragonet should burn itself from the inside out, and if it lives it'll only be for a few minutes, it'll be in complete agony," he said quietly, watching as Peril violently curled up and sobbed dryly with tears steaming out of her eyes.
"There is something I can do, but I have to do it now," he said carefully, soothing her by rubbing light circles into her back while straightening her posture up a bit. He re-placed his talons on her stomach and rubbed lighter circles on it. A strange feeling emitted from her womb, an extremely hot tingling feeling, just as hot to where it doesn't hurt but it's uncomfortable. It slowly made its way from her stomach to all of her body. After a bit, that extra heat wafting thoughout her body slowly returned to her stomach and into an oval shape. She can feel her egg.
"Your child should be safe now," Stonemover said dully, sounding quite emotionless. Peril nearly hugged him, but held herself back as she left the room, waving a small goodbye to him as she caressed her stomach. This is her child, and she'll do anything in her power to protect them.
