"Why aren't you getting dressed for the party?" Steve asks while entering the room.

He saw Natasha sitting on the bed with her laptop in a sweater and sweatpants.

"Why aren't you getting a shower? You're drenched in sweat. What did your dad do to you?" Natasha asks

"We just had a workout." Steve says while grabbing a towel.

"Right. Well get into the shower, you only got one hour till the party." Natasha says, "And I was just ordering your Christmas gift."

"A Christmas gift, huh? Well I already got something for you." Steve says and pecked Natasha's lips.

"Ew, sweat. Get in the shower." Natasha says and pushed him away.

"Fine." Steve sighed and entered the bathroom.

Natasha smiled and closed her laptop. She grabbed her black dress from the closet and put it on. Then she started on her hair and makeup.

"You've been doing your makeup for the past 30 minutes." Steve says while he put on a bowtie.

"Well, I'm sorry for trying to look good on my own birthday." Natasha says

"You always look good." Steve says and wrapped his arms around Natasha. "You ready?"

"Yes." Natasha says

"Before we had down I got a birthday gift for you." Steve says

"You got more? Steve, you already gave me enough today." Natasha says

"I know, but I would give everything to my girl." Steve says

He grabbed a black box from his nightstand and opened it in front of Natasha.

"Steve... It's beautiful!" Natasha says and looked down at the silver necklace with diamond pendant.

"Let me put it on you." Steve says and took the necklace from the box.

Natasha turned around and pulled her hair up. She flinched when the cold necklace hit her neck. Steve closed the necklace and pecked Natasha's cheek.

"It's amazing." Natasha says

"My girl deserves the best diamonds." Steve says and kissed his lips.

"You already gave me enough diamonds." Natasha says

"You can never have enough diamonds." Steve says

"I love you." Natasha says

"I know." Steve says, "Now let's go."

Natasha wrapped her arm around Steve's and they walked downstairs where all Natasha's friends were already waiting.

"Happy birthday, Nat!" Wanda says and hugged her friend.

"Thanks." Natasha says

She got some more congratulations from people and eventually she stood by the bar ordering an ice tea.

"What happened to champagne? I bought a special bottle for your birthday." Steve says

"I know, but I want to be sober tonight." Natasha says

"But it's your birthday." Steve says

"Last year I got really drunk and threw up the full day after, so I'm gonna pass drinking." Natasha says

"One drink?" Steve asks

"No." Natasha says and sipped her ice tea.

"Do you want to dance, miss Romanoff?" Steve asks

"I would love to, mister Rogers." Natasha says and grabbed Steve's hand and led him to the dance floor.

Natasha wrapped her arms around Steve's neck and Steve rested his arms on her waist.

"Why won't you say you love me?" Natasha asks with a very cute look. She was looking at Steve with her emerald green eyes and her mouth in way she looked like pouting.

"Nat, you know why." Steve says

"Actually I don't." Natasha says

"After Peggy I didn't believe in love." Steve says

"But you said I made you fall in love." Natasha says

"I never said that." Steve says

"Do you even want to be with me?" Natasha asks

"Of course I do." Steve says

"Then why don't you say it?" Natasha asks

"Because I'm scared." Steve says

"Of what? Steve I won't leave you like Peggy. You're the first man I ever loved, please don't push me away like this." Natasha says

"I'm just not ready yet." Steve says

"Okay, well tell me when you're ready." Natasha says and rested her head on his chest.

"I will." Steve whispers and kissed her head.

"Steve really spends a lot of money on you." Maria says while sitting in the comfy chair in Natasha's office.

"I know." Natasha says and touched her necklace. "God, I love him so much."

"And now you're moving in together." Maria says

"Yes! I'm actually heading to his office now to pick him up so we can move my stuff." Natasha says

"Do you want help?" Maria asks

"No, we want to do it ourselfs." Natasha says and put some files in the closet. "Maybe I should buy some flowers when I go there."

"Flowers? Seriously?" Maria says

"It's romantic." Natasha says and put on her coat. "Also I'm gonna lock my office, so you coming?"

"Yeah." Maria says and picked up her coat and purse.

"How's Yelena doing as your boss?" Natasha asks

"She's okay." Maria says

"Hi, Sharon. Is Steve in his office?" Natasha asks

"He's still in a meeting, but the door is open." Sharon says without looking up from filing her nails.

"Thanks." Natasha says annoyed and opened Steve's office door.

Natasha placed the white roses she bought on his desk. She sat in Steve's chair and twirled around. She put her elbows on his desk and put her head in her hands.

One file caught her eye. She pulled it from under a pile of papers and looked at it. She flipped through the file and all she could see was a contract for her father. A contract for Steve to buy Romanoff Enterprise.

"Hey, you're here." Steve says, "Ready to get moved?"

"No." Natasha says and stood up.

"What?" Steve asks

"What is this?" Natasha asks while holding up the file she just looked through.

"Just a contract." Steve says

"A contract to take over my fathers company, why?" Natasha says

"I wanted it to be a suprise." Steve says and took the file from her. "I wanted to offer you a job as COO, because then you would kinda have the position you wanted but not only over Romanoff Enterprise also Rogers Enterprise."

"And you think I would want that? I'm happy with my job. Also you're full of shit. It says on the file it has been in the works since April, we only started to date in May." Natasha says

"Okay so maybe I wanted to take it over sooner." Steve says

"You used me. You used me to get to my family business. You cost me my job!" Natasha says

"I would give you the job and you quit yourself." Steve says

"You got close to me and stole my heart! Do you even care about me at all?" Natasha yells

Steve stayed silent and Natasha knew enough.

"You're exactly the same piece of shit you were when we were eighteen." Natasha says

"Eighteen? We didn't met until we were twenty-two." Steve says

"Right, you were drunk." Natasha says and started to walk away, but Steve grabbed her arm.

"What happened when we were eighteen?" Steve asks

"We met at this party of Tony. Wanda dragged me there during my first week in the States. We talked and you made me fall for you, then you said you would get me a drink, after 15 minutes you didn't return so I went to find you." Natasha says and stepped closer to Steve. "You know what I found? You kissing another girl in the corner of the room. From that day on I've hated you with all my heart, and you just proved that you, Steve Rogers, can never love."

"Nat..." Steve says

"Leave me alone. We're over." Natasha says and walked out of his office with tears in her eyes.

Y'all finally know what I've been keeping a mystery thing this whole book, that Steve was an ass when he met Nat for the first time.
