Chapter 4
A couple of hours later, they had all met up at a restaurant and ate dinner, then headed to a club not far from there. Yoongi still wasn't really feeling like letting loose, but he agreed to at least a few drinks regardless.
He was heading to the bar to get another when he bumped into a person obviously on their way to the dance floor. He turned around to apologize and was shocked at who he found.
"Hana?"
"Yoongi!"
"Uh, I – "
"Crazy meeting you here!" she slightly shouted over the music. "Are you here with your friends?"
"Yeah," Yoongi confirmed. "We're all over there," he said, pointing to their booth. Hana glanced over, but none of the others had noticed Yoongi talking to her. Yoongi breathed a slight sigh of relief at this fact.
"I'll come over and say hi in a bit," Hana said. "I mean, if that's okay..."
Yoongi considered this. He knew how his friends would react to seeing Hana, and he wasn't sure he wanted to deal with their smugness. But, he didn't want to be rude.
"Yeah, sure," he said, somewhat reluctantly, but Hana didn't seem to notice.
"Great!" she said, flashing what Yoongi was beginning to learn was her signature bright smile. "Oh! Come meet my friend! You might know her! She's 3C!"
Yoongi nodded. "Sujin, right?"
"Yeah!" Hana confirmed. "Come say hi!"
Yoongi internally sighed, but followed her since she was headed to the bar. When they arrived, Sujin was just receiving two drinks. She turned around and handed one to Hana.
"Oh, hey, Yoongi!" she said. "Are you here with Misun?"
Both Yoongi and Hana stiffened. "Sorry," Hana immediately offered. "I guess she doesn't know."
Yoongi shook his head. "It's been really sudden. I'm not surprised."
"What's going on?" Sujin asked curiously.
"Misun and I broke up," Yoongi told her, and her face immediately took on a look of horror.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry."
"It's okay, you didn't know. I just moved out today."
Sujin looked sympathetic. "I'll miss being your neighbor," she offered.
"Thanks, likewise," Yoongi replied.
He quickly pushed his way closer to the bar top, hoping to get his next drink and get back to his friends. He was supposed to be here to forget about Misun for awhile, and instead, he was just being constantly reminded of her.
"Well," Hana said after Yoongi had ordered. "We'll see you around out here," she said, pointing to the dance floor. "Yeah?"
"Oh, no, I don't dance," Yoongi said, cringing slightly at the thought. "But again, feel free to stop by our booth and say hi to the guys."
"You don't dance?" Hana asked incredulously. "Then why come to a club?" she elbowed him good-naturedly, indicating she was teasing.
Yoongi took the drink the bartender handed him and gestured at it. Hana chuckled, nodding.
"You deserve that, it seems," she said with a smile. "Well, we're going to dance for awhile. Enjoy your drink!"
"Thanks," Yoongi replied as Hana grabbed Sujin's empty hand and began pulling her toward the dance floor. He watched them go, shook his head slightly, then headed back toward his friends. When he got there, he noticed a small smile on Namjoon's face. He internally groaned. Namjoon had seen the interaction.
"Don't say a word," Yoongi instructed as he slid in next to his friend. "She was just saying hi."
"And dragging you across the club, huh?"
"She's here with my old neighbor. I went to say hi to her and to get a drink."
"Hmm," was all Namjoon replied.
Yoongi rolled his eyes as he took a long sip of his drink. "Just let me drink in peace."
"Of course," Namjoon replied, still with a smile. "You're here to forget about Misun; I haven't forgotten."
And after two more drinks, Yoongi was on his way to doing just that. Many of his friends were pleased, joining him in his eagerness of downing drinks, especially the younger ones. Jin, true to his word, nursed his two drinks throughout the night, and Namjoon held back, too, keeping a close eye on Yoongi just to make sure he'd be okay.
Yoongi, to his credit, kept himself off the dance floor despite the objections from Jimin and Hoseok.
"You guys are both great dancers," he told them. "You know how bad I am."
"What happened to letting loose?!" Jimin demanded.
"Those were your words, not mine!"
"Boo!" Jimin slurred in Yoongi's face. "You're no fun!"
Yoongi rolled his eyes. "Just go dance!"
"Fine, I will!" Jimin said with a smile. "I'll get you out there eventually, though."
"Keep dreaming!"
Yoongi was on his fifth drink when Hana finally stopped by their booth to say hi. Sujin was faithfully following behind her, looking shy.
"Hey, guys!"
"Hana!" Taehyung and Jungkook exclaimed.
"What are you doing here?!" Taehyung asked.
"Just having a good time! I saw Yoongi earlier, and he told me you were all here, too! Just wanted to say hi!"
"Well, hi!" Seokjin said. "It's good to see you again!"
"You, too," Hana beamed. "This is my friend, Sujin," she said, pushing her forward. "She lives next door to me."
Each of them greeted Sujin politely after she bowed, and then Jimin stepped forward.
"So, who's this?" he asked, a bit louder than necessary. "Hana?"
"Yeah, I'm a friend of Yoongi's," she answered, and Yoongi's eyebrows shot up. "We were almost neighbors!"
"Oh, you live by Misun, then?" Jimin asked, a scowl taking over his face.
"Yeah, a couple of apartments down from her. I just moved in this morning."
"Well, be wary of her," Jimin said. "She's a real bitch."
"Jimin!" Yoongi chided.
"What?" he asked pointedly. "She is after what she did to you!"
"Still, be nice," Yoongi insisted. "She's still a nice girl. She'd be a good friend for someone new to the building like Hana."
Sujin, who had been watching with wide eyes, suddenly stepped in. "What happened?" she asked before she could stop herself.
Yoongi sighed. "She found someone else."
"She cheated," Jungkook interrupted. "Jimin's right, she's a bitch."
"Guys!" Yoongi said, a bit more harshly. Jungkook shrugged.
"I'm sorry, Yoongi," Sujin offered. Yoongi shook his head.
"It's whatever," he said. "It's over now and in the past."
"Still."
"Okay, so next topic!" Hana somewhat frantically interrupted, wanting to move on from the awkwardness. "We need to get Yoongi on the dance floor!"
"Yes!" Jimin and Hoseok exclaimed at the same time.
"We've been trying for ages!" Hoseok continued.
"C'mon, Yoongs," Namjoon said. "Have some fun!"
But Yoongi emphatically shook his head. "Well, get another drink then," Taehyung said slyly.
"You won't get me drunk enough to dance," Yoongi said.
"Sure we will!" Seokjin said, returning from the bar and handing Yoongi yet another drink. Yoongi hadn't even seen him slip away.
"I'll take this," he said. "But I'm still not dancing."
"We'll see," Hana said, winking at him. "You seem like the type who can eventually be persuaded."
Yoongi opened his mouth to reply, but Namjoon cut him off. "He is!" Yoongi shot him a look, and Namjoon shrugged.
"I've known you for 15 years, Yoongs. You're a sucker for persuasion from people who care about you."
"But not when it comes to this."
"Like Hana said, we'll see."
And it only took two more drinks for Yoongi to allow himself to be led to the dance floor by an increasingly insistent Hana, who held one of his hands while Sujin tugged on the other. Jimin, Hoseok, Jungkook and Taehyung followed as well, and soon, they were all dancing in a group, seemingly having the time of their lives.
"You think he gave in because of her?" Seokjin asked a tipsy Namjoon.
Namjoon shrugged. "I'd like to think so, but I think he just knew that none of them were going to give up."
"So, what're the odds he'll have her phone number by the end of the night?" Seokjin said slyly.
Namjoon grinned. "Not entirely impossible, but I'm not sure he's ready for that yet. I just hope that, if he doesn't, he does run into her again eventually."
Seokjin nodded. "She's cute and fun. And seems caring towards Yoongs. I think this is all exactly what he needed tonight."
Namjoon nodded. "I hope so."
