Chapter 17

Zephyra Point of View

"Nayae, Durnak" I whispered in a nostalgic tone as I slowly bowed down and knelt before the glass case.

I tugged Valen bud's jacket and pointed the cushion beside me for him to take. With a very expressionless face, he knelt down beside me on the cushion while Via, Oreo and Valen family members stood behind us in a polite silence.

Because this is the place where silence is most appreciated.

The place where my parents' remains are kept well preserved. This is the place where most of the parents and their ancestors remains are kept safely.

This is like an ancestral home to us.

"This is my Nayae." I nudged him and pointed at the picture of my mom. She was such a beauty when she was alive that even after so many years of her death, her picture is still glittering like an unextinguished lamp.

"Your what?" I smiled at his question and suddenly remembered that he doesn't know my clan language or the terms we use.

"Nayae – which means 'mom'. That is what we call mom in our language." I explained in a soft tone enough for everyone to hear but to keep the serene silence in the room.

This is a very small cabin in the ancestral homes building that belongs to our tribe and clan. Here, every single one from Virelle family who are dead, has their remains well-kept in this place.

Some has their painting hung up, some has their pictures and some from very early and ancient age has their personally used things cased carefully.

In short, this is Virelle ancestral history museum.

"That is my Durnak – which me 'dad'. They are also your nayae and durnak now. I want to consummate our wedding and enter into the next and most important phase of my life after you and I get blessings from my parents and my ancestors." Saying, I took his hand, held it tightly and with my hand under his, we moved forward and touched the glass case in which the remains are kept.

Nayae, durnak, please bless us with yourself.

"I bow my head and ask you to grant me my wish and be born as my child." I spoke softly and then realized that my words might create a misunderstanding for my dead parents so I made it clear for them.

"You both discuss and choose who to become my child. I don't want my parents to be born as siblings. If one is born to me, the other should be born to someone else and then become a couple in the future." Thankfully, I made it clear.

"What if the other is born to any of sisters or cousins?" Valen bud's doubt is well founded.

Although I could see him trying to not laugh, I could still grasp the important part of his question.

"That's right, nayae, durnak, you should look for someone from other unrelated bloodline. At last moment don't make a mistake and come down as siblings or cousins. That would mess up everything. Ah right, you should also be born in the same generation with maybe two to three years of age gap. Don't go on and have a generational age gap."

After making everything clear to my parents; I waved my hands between their pictures and my stomach and chanted 'come, come into my womb. Please be born as my child' several times and when I felt that the spiritual vibe around is used enough, I stopped and gave them another bow.

Turning around, I saw my new family smiling at me and my family ancestral room. So, I introduced everyone to everyone from both families.

Although my ancestors are far away from my generation, they are still considered deities to us. I specially took their auspicious blessings and asked them to keep me, Valen bud and my new family safe and happy.

I also asked them if there was any of them who are not reincarnated yet, they should choose my womb to be born. I also promised them to take the best care of them and be a great mother to them.

I also marketed their future prospective father to them. "Your prospective father will be the best father in the world, I promise. If any of the great ancestors are only waiting to be born in the tribe again and did not find right person or right chance, give me and Valen bud an opportunity to make ourselves best parents for you." I offered.

"But, sister Zephy, how will we know how many of them are still waiting?" Liana asked, tapping her finger on the chin curiously.

That's right. How would we know?

If it is one or two, then it is fine. What if tens of them are still looking for an opportunity?

How will I be able to give birth to so many?

"You are right. But how to solve this issue now? Does anyone have any brilliant idea?" I looked at my new family members and waited for their opinions.

For some reason, Valen bud has become much quieter in these two days after getting married. He hardly expresses himself as he used to.

Is this the wedding maturity that a man assumes after getting married?

That should be the case.

I looked at everyone's pondering frown and felt relieved that I am not the only one to look for solution. If I were to think so much, I will go bald.

The discussion went on for few short minutes and several suggestions came out but none of them were practical enough to use until Liana, that little darling, came up with a right way out to the issue.

"How many kids do you want, sister Zephy? How about you give them that number of slots?" Brilliant!

Absolutely brilliant!

"That is an amazing idea! Valen Bud, how about we both have – umm – one... nah, too less; two... apt but normal; four – let's have four kids. Not too less or too much, just right enough for my body to bear."

"Good. Four is good." Mom and dad encouraged enthusiastically and everyone showed their support unanimously to my decision.

Valen bud who assumed the married maturity is seen quite and calm without giving any answer.

Silence is acceptance; right?

"Ancestors, there are four slots for now. One is already filled with either my nayae or durnak, the rest are all yours to choose. Please discuss among yourselves and knock the door of my womb peacefully."

We spent in the ancestral cabin for few more minutes and walked around the ancestral sanctuary for a while. The whole sanctuary was surrounded by neatly trimmed lawn with flower patches at every turn.

There are huge decade old trees here and there, providing shade from the glaring sun. under the trees are benches to rest.

The whole sanctuary has a very positive and spiritual aura to it as if the deceased ancestors residing here are very happy with their surroundings.

Upon walking for an hour, we got into our respective cars. We are going to Valen mansion to celebrate and welcome newlyweds. This is also my first time some this is also an event of bride's first entry into the house.

Amidst confetti, hoots and hollers, amidst some fine music and showering drizzle of wine, Valen bud with me, we both entered the house together.

We were stopped by Kaiya and the other cousins after two steps inside. They looked at both of us with bright sunny smiles which caused me to blush like an organic rose blusher.

"Now, now, now; where are you going just like that?" Kaiya asked in a sing-sang manner.

"Inside. Tired. Shower. Sleep." Valen bud answered in a very strange grammar.

"No. No. No. Not yet." Kaiya replied back, throwing a glare at him and then suddenly turned to me with a beautiful and wide grin.

"Tell me your endearments for each other first and then go to your room to struggle of bed." Hey, hey, hey; I saw something like this in an Indian daily soap.

But here, we are asked for endearments. Now that he is my husband, what should I call him?

Valen bud is fine but the term is not 'married friendly' enough. As a wife, I should call him with some sweet names, right?

And so should he.

How about – pancake, pineapple, bunny, kitty, baby, darling, sweetheart, Buttercup, sugar, treasure, pumpkin – nah, so routine and tasteless.

What should I call him then?

It should be very toe-curling sweet and also special.

"I'll call her demon girl. A perfect name for her." I recently started learning about innuendoes and if the endearment 'demon girl' is considered from that angle, then it does sound a little playful and sexy.

But this is not very special sounding though.

"Shut up and come up with something good and different." Kaiya knocked on his head and turned to me to ask.

"How about I call him – Grrrgal?" I blinked at him waiting for him to express his joy.

"I call you Grrrgal and you can call me Zzzrrk." I made the suggestion and looked away shyly.

Grrrgal and Zzzrrk – what a great endearment they are for both of us.

Not to mention what a nice ring they have when put together!
