Chapter 11

Sorry I've been gone for so long. I had a crazy week. Um, not much to say, so enjoy! Warning: slight gore and swearing.

Socks and Blaza were playing UNO when they heard a knock on Blaza's door. "I'll get it." Socks said. When he opened it up, he saw Jooice. "Hey man!" Socks said, letting him in. "Hey guys." Jooice said. "You okay? You look tired." Blaza said. "Yeah, I am." Jooice said, sitting in a chair. "Wanna play? We're starting a new round." Socks said. "Why not?" Jooice said. They started playing the game, and it was peaceful for the rest of the day. "Man, so close." Socks said when Jooice placed his last card down. "Eh, when you play over time, you start to learn some new tricks." Jooice said. He felt happy, but extremely tired. "Might turn in for the night." Jooice yawned. "Yeah, same." Blaza said. "You good Jooice? You look like you're going to pass out." Socks asked worriedly. "Really?" Jooice said, unsure of what was going on. "Yeah, you're actually talking with your eyes closed." Blaza said. Jooice hadn't even realized his eyes were closed. He opened them, and saw Socks and Blaza's concerned faces. He sighed. "I don't know. I think I just need sleep." He got up, but the world tipped to the side, and then everything went black.

...

"Jooice. Jooice!" Jooice slowly opened his eyes. Socks and Blaza were looking over him. "What happened?" he groaned. "You passed out." Blaza said. He sighed. "Yeah, I'm going to go home, and pass out on my bed." "No, you're staying here. I'm not going to let you go and pass out in the middle of the road." Blaza said. Jooice sighed again. "How much sleep have you been having?" Socks asked. "Barely any I think. Just so much has been happening, I've been up most nights." Jooice said, sitting up. "Listen, I'll go with you back to your house, just in case." Socks said. Jooice nodded. He helped Jooice up, and he staggered a bit, still dazed. "Easy." Socks said. He said good-bye to Blaza, and helped bring Jooice home. "Man, I thought I was just really tired, not super tired that I would pass out." Jooice chuckled. "Yeah. You definitely look exhausted." Socks said. They reached Jooice's home, and Socks brought him inside. Jooice head suddenly swayed. "I think I'm going to black out again." Jooice mumbled. Socks quickly brought him to his bed, and when he sat on the bed, he passed out again.

...

Jooice's eyes fluttered open. "You good?" Socks asked. "I guess?" Jooice said, sitting up. "You were out for almost three minutes." Socks said worriedly. "Sorry I worried you." Jooice said. "It's fine. Not like you had a choice." Socks said. Jooice felt one of the bumps on the side of his head. He got the bump there when his head had been severely cracked, and they had to carefully take the juice out of his head along with consciousness. It had been risky, but it had worked. "Hey, I'll let you get some sleep." Socks said. Jooice nodded. Socks got up, and left Jooice in his room. He was about to leave when he heard a yell. "SOCKS!" Socks turned and ran to Jooice's room. He burst through the door, and found Jooice on the floor, pain filling his face. The window was open, and a breeze drifted through. "Seth." Jooice whispered. Socks knelt down next to him. "Are you okay?" Socks asked. "No, I think he did something, but I don't know what." Jooice said, taking deep breaths. "I'm going to turn you over." Socks said. Jooice nodded, and braced for the pain. Socks carefully turned him over, and when he looked at his head, he sighed with relief. "Good news. He didn't do anything to your head." Jooice felt relief fill him a bit. He didn't need another broken head. "I don't see any physical damage." Socks said. Then something caught his eye. It was embedded in Jooice's sweater, but what made him scared was the fact that it was very close to his spine. He looked at it closer, and found out it was a small dagger. "Take a deep breath, and try not to scream." Socks said. Jooice nodded, and closed his eyes. Socks grabbed the dagger and ripped it out. Jooice wanted to scream at the top of his lungs, but held it deep inside. "Can you move your legs?" Socks asked. Jooice was confused why, but then when he did, he was shocked at how hard it was to move them. "What the?" "He was trying to break your spine, make you paralyized from the waist down." Socks said. There was a small but deep wound, and Socks ran to Jooice's bathroom and grabbed a roll of bandages. He came back and quickly wrapped the wound up. "Thank God he missed." Socks said, finishing wrapping the wound up. "Yeah." Jooice said. He sat up, glad to find that moving his legs was much easier now. "Seth won't come back, it's not in his nature." Socks said. Jooice nodded. Socks helped Jooice back into bed. "Get some rest, kay?" Socks said. "Try to anyway." Jooice said. Socks smiled a little, then left. Jooice turned the light off above him, without hitting any switch. He could control the switch from his bed, since it used electricity. He sighed, and fell asleep. Socks went back to his house, and quickly fell asleep. He realized that this was the first time he was going to get a good night's sleep. He smiled, and let his mind drift away.

...

Meme's eyes fluttered open. The morning sun shining through the blinds a bit. He sat up and groaned. His heart let out a sharp pain, and he winced. He shivered, the feeling of death hanging around him. He shook the feeling off, and got out of bed. He quickly got changed, glad to be out of the tight shirt. He went outside to the medbay, and found Laff and Nadwe both sleeping in the beds. He chuckled. He then heard a knock on the door, and went over and opened it. Socks and Jooice were there. "Meme!" Socks said, smiling. "Hey guys." Meme said wearily. "You good?" Jooice asked. "I just woke up." Meme said. "Um, yeah, so me and Jooice were at his house, and...Seth came and attacked him." Socks said. Meme felt his skin crawl, and a feeling of rage filled him. "He tried to hit his spine, but missed, thank God." Socks said. Meme went outside, and suddenly, his skin began to burn. He looked at his hands and saw that he was burning. Fear shot through him like a bullet, and he was suddenly pushed back into the shade. His mind was spinning, he was unaware of what was happening. He felt himself being lifted up by someone, and he was laid on a soft surface. He felt very hot, his skin burning. A cool substance was put on his skin, and it stung at first, but it cooled him down. He sighed with relief, unsure of what had exactly happened. "Meme, can you hear me?" someone asked. Meme nodded a little bit, sleepiness settling into him. "How is this possible? This hasn't happened before." someone said. "Seth must've done something." another person said. He felt something warm wrap around his arm, but it didn't burn him. "What the fuck?" someone said. "Wait, how is that possible, he just burned in the sun a few seconds ago." another person said. Meme didn't know what was going on, so he just fell asleep.

...

Meme opened his eyes, and Nadwe was sitting on a chair next to him. "Nadwe." Meme said. Nadwe looked up, and happiness and relief filled his face. "Hey, are you okay?" Nadwe asked. "Um, yeah." Meme said. Then he noticed the burn's on his arms. They screamed with red, and the heat coming from them shocked him. "What the hell?" he whispered. "Meme, breath." Nadwe said. Meme took deep breaths, and his heart suddenly sent a sharp pain. He groaned, laying back on the pillows. Nadwe could tell his heart was acting up, but he couldn't really do anything. Meme managed to settle down, but still was confused as to where the burns came from. "Where is the burn cream?" Meme asked. Nadwe grabbed a container, opened it up, and put some of it on one of his arms. He sighed with relief as the cream cooled the burn down. When Nadwe was finished, he closed the container up, and grabbed a paper towel to wipe his hands. "Okay, what happened? I don't remember what happened, only that Jooice and Socks needed help." Meme asked. "Well, the good news is that your memory is pretty good, but it's what happened after they told you that they needed help." Nadwe said. "What happened?" Meme asked. "Well, when you went out to help them, you went out into the sun, and...you somehow began to burn." Nadwe whispered the last part. "What?" Meme said. He couldn't burn, he was only half-vampire! "That the thing, when we brought you in, Socks put a thing of light on your arm, but you didn't burn." Nadwe said. Meme was confused now. "Wait, so I burned in the sun before, then I didn't after?" Meme asked. "Yeah." Nadwe said. "Okay, um." Meme was about to say something, when he remembered something. They were talking about Seth. The same rage he felt when they mentioned him filled him. "Meme, your eyes just turned dark red. Like, really dark red." Nadwe said. Meme felt the rage fade when he heard Nadwe say that. He rubbed his face, thinking that it was just a coincidence. "I think I just need to rest." Meme said. Nadwe nodded. But something in the back of his mind told him that something was still wrong. Like he still wasn't fully healed. His heart sent another shiver of pain out, and then he felt the area around his heart. His heart skipped a beat when he felt a curve around the area. Nadwe was confused, but then when Meme revealed what he was looking at, he could hardly breathe. He still had an open hole, leaving his heart exposed. It was sorta blocked by a thin weird thing, probably his body trying to heal it, but at least it wasn't bleeding, but he was stunned he didn't see it when he changed that morning. "Get someone, quick." Meme said. Nadwe changed into a bat, and flew out the window, heading over to Laff's. Laff was tending to his farm when he saw the bat. "Nadwe, what's going on?" He asked. "The wound above his heart, it's still open!" Nadwe said. Laff felt shivers go down his back. "Come on." Laff said. He went to his barn he made recently, and grabbed his favorite horse, Blackjack. He had a solid black color, and his eyes were a dark brown "Get on." Laff said. Nadwe got on, and Laff told the horse to go. He shot off like a bullet, surprising Nadwe. "How fast is this horse!?" Nadwe asked. "Quite fast!" Laff said back. They managed to make it to the medbay in minutes, and ran inside. When they found Meme, both of them gasped. Blood managed to escape the hole, and there was a lot. Meme had passed out, and was covered in his blood. "Nadwe, get towels and clean the blood up." Laff said. Nadwe quickly got towels and began to clean the blood up. Laff grabbed a needle and thread, and went back over to Meme. "How are we going to do this?" Nadwe whispered. "Breathe. He's going to be fine." L4FF said. Nadwe nodded. "We have to clean it up to prevent an infection." L4FF said. When he was cleaning the wound, Meme groaned. "Is he waking up?" Nadwe asked. L4FF shook his head, too focused on cleaning the wound to actually talk to him. When he was done, he wiped any remaining blood away, and grabbed the needle and thread. "He may try to jerk away, I need you to hold him down." "I'm not that strong." Nadwe said. "Are you though?" L4FF asked. Nadwe was confused at first, then realized what he meant. "No. Nope. No way, bad idea." Nadwe said. But when he looked at Meme, he saw the pain he was feeling, and a stab of hurt hit him. He couldn't bear to see Meme like this. "I'll try." Nadwe said. L4FF nodded, and began to stitch the wound up. Meme did in fact try to move, but Nadwe managed to hold him down. He fought against the vampire fighting inside, but he knew he was going to lose. L4FF worked as quickly as he could. He just needed to close it, it didn't have to be pretty. Nadwe groaned as his head pounded. "C'mon, c'mon." L4FF whispered. He finally finished closing the wound. "Done!" he said. Nadwe let go, and Meme stopped trying to move away. L4FF went over to Nadwe, who was fighting the vampire deep inside. "Mate, you did it." Laff said softly. Nadwe nodded, but the pain he felt was beginning to take its toll. "Relax. You're fine. Breathe." Laff said softly. Nadwe took deep breaths, letting the tears fall. Laff stayed close to him, giving him a sense of safety. Nadwe began to slow down, and soon, the vampire faded. He fell asleep on Laff's arm. Laff chuckled, and picked Nadwe up, bringing him to one of the beds. Jooice, who was staying there for his back injury, didn't see Laff and Nadwe come in as he was asleep. "What happened?" Jooice asked. "Just had a little bump in the road, that's all." Laff said, putting Nadwe on one of the beds. Jooice chuckled. Laff sighed. "You know, I haven't seen Natalie, Zack, and Sonja for a while." "Yeah. Hey, did it seem to you that Natalie..." "Seemed agitated about something." Laff finished. They both stared at each other. "Something's up." Jooice said. "Yeah. I'll go check it out." Laff said, starting to the door. Jooice went to get up and follow, but his back protested. "I would come, but my back would prefer to stay behind." Jooice sighed. "I'll bring someone with me if you want." Laff said. "You're already bringing L4FF with you." Jooice said. "Or am I bringing Laff with me?" L4FF asked. Jooice laughed. "I promise I'll be careful." Laff said. "Yeah, I know." Jooice said. Laff then left, leaving Jooice alone. Laff hopped onto Blackjack, and took off to the island. While riding there, he started having a conversation with L4FF, who had not noticed what was up with Natalie. "What's wrong with Natalie?" "She's been acting weird. We haven't seen her, or her brother and Sonja." "She did seem irritated when we had that band on our neck." "We need to check it out." He finally made it to the bridge, and rode Blackjack up it, hoping that they three were okay.

So Jooice almost got paralyized from the waist down because of Seth (idk if this is true or not so we're going to believ it is) Meme found out that his heart is exposed and Nadwe and L4FF worked together to heal him, and now L4FF and Laff are going to check on Natalie. See ya!
