Wednesday, 9 AM
Doctor's Cabin

Two ladies entered the cabin. One of them was pregnant. The doctor greeted them in his most pleasant smile and inquired about the issue. As the pregnant woman began explaining her trouble, the other lady moved behind the doctor's chair. The doctor, though listening to his patient, gave a confusing look to her. Soon, she was right behind him. Raising her hand, she placed it on the doctor's mouth, not letting him make a sound. The supposedly pregnant lady stood up swiftly, pulled out a knife and was about to stab the doctor, when both the ladies were pulled away from the doctor and the knife was safe in the 'evidence' bag.

ACP Abhijeet and Senior Inspector Arjun stood in front of the ladies and the doctor as the women constables took out the make-up from their faces. The door opened and came in Senior Inspector Almas with another lady. As their make-up was removed, there stood Aarushi Khanna, Babita Chatterjee and Chandani Mehta.

"Good morning ladies. I thought you didn't know each other and here you are murdering a doctor together," said Abhijeet. The ladies looked at him and Aarushi spoke, "You have no proof against us, officer." Abhijeet looked at Arjun, who played a video on his mobile. The three ladies looked shocked. "We are not kids madam. Give us some credit at least," said Arjun.

Abhijeet moved forward and looked at them sternly. "Now tell us, why did you kill the doctors and your family??" Babita feigned innocence, "Our families? You are accusing us of something we never did." Almas spoke, "We found a blood covered knife hidden in your garden, coincidently Aarushi's family was stabbed to death. We found a bottle of poison hidden in Chandani's house, coincidently your family was poisoned. We found a blood covered cricket bat hidden in Aarushi's house, coincidently Chandani's family died because of being hit on their skulls." Aarushi tried to say something but was cut by Abhijeet. "Don't try to deny it. Our forensic doctor can confirm this. And your mobile location has proved where you were on that day."

Chandani spoke for the first time, "You don't know how those people had broken us. Taking a child away from the mother is wrong but killing a child in front of the mother, it's a crime. And these doctors, they are also criminals." She looked at the doctor in disgust. "Then you should have raised your voice against them. They killed a child and you let them do so. Aren't you all criminals too?" asked Abhijeet. The women lowered their head, clearly having no answer to the question. Almas, along with women constables took them away.

Abhijeet looked at the doctor. "Arrest him, Arjun, and every doctor in that list who is guilty of this heinous crime."

Conference Room, 1 PM

The three officers, along with the forensic doctor were sitting, a little relaxed. Finally, Arjun asked his senior, "Sir, how did you know everything?" Abhijeet smiled and spoke, "I suspected them. And then with the officer-in-charge's words and the case files, everything was clear. When Almas said that they knew each other, I knew that this was done together. Aarushi left an hour early to kill Chandani's family. At that time, Chandani was at her friend's place. Babita returned late from the surgery because she was busy murdering Aarushi's family. At that time, Aarushi was at the temple. Babita went back to the hospital and Chandani who was returning back from her friend's place, dropped by and offered them poisoned food for free, as per the neighbour, and the task was done. They lied low for three long years, finding out about their next victims. And three years later, the murders began." "As to why they chose a Wednesday, it was because, coincidently all these three ladies met their gynaecologist for the first time on a Wednesday," said Tarika.

Almas looked at her and asked, "You knew?" Tarika chuckled and replied, "I have worked with him since forever, of course I knew." "And on the top of it, you are his girlfriend......," Arjun spoke but soon realised he was talking about his senior. "Sorry Sir," he apologised. Abhijeet looked at him sternly but ended up laughing at the end.
