Conference Room

Abhijeet and Tarika entered the room. Abhijeet looked around to his juniors and saw them bursting to share some news. "Tell me," he said. "Sir, you won't believe what we found. These three ladies - Aarushi, Babita and Chandani - they knew each other since they were ten years old. They had gone with their families for a trip to Manali. These three met," Arjun said. "And Sir, according to Facebook they are friends with each other. If you say, then....," Almas continued. Abhijeet nodded. 

"Sir, what did you find?" asked Arjun. Tarika answered his question, "They recognized a doctor each. And they have never seen or met each other. But Abhi....jeet had guessed that they are lying." 

"Show me the files of their families' murder case," said Abhijeet, smirking sightly. Tarika blushed as she passed the files from Arjun to Abhijeet. Almas spoke again, "Sir, one more thing. Mrs Babita is a nurse and for the past three years, she has worked at many different clinics, all gynecologists, including our four victims, in the same order as they were killed." Abhijeet raised his eyebrows. This was getting interesting. 

He studied the files. He was smiling all along. "Arjun, did you talk to the investigating officer?" he asked. Arjun nodded and forwarded him a few papers. "I have made notes about everything he told," Arjun said. Abhijeet nodded. 

"So, Aarushi used to go to a temple at 10 in the morning and would return by 11 AM but that particular day, she decided to leave an hour before and returned at the same time. Though, she reached to the temple at 10 AM only. Why?? Ahh! because she was stuck in traffic. Arjun check if it's a busy route?" said the ACP. Arjun shook his head, "No Sir. It's not."

Abhijeet nodded and continued, "Babita was in a surgery. She left the hospital at 10 AM and reached her house after 11 AM." He looked at his juniors. "Sir, that hospital is just ten minutes away from her house," said Almas. Abhijeet smirked and said, "Chandani went to her friend's house previous night. Left her house at 1 PM and took approximately an hour to return back for a fifteen minutes distance. Excellent. And nobody saw them near their own houses before these particular times." 

Abhijeet looked at his juniors again. Their expressions clearly stated that they did not find anything interesting. He chuckled and said, "Do one thing. Find out about all these doctors she worked with. Use your informers. And find out everyone who is involved in female foeticide. Everyone will have officers in their cabin. And the next one in this list, we will be in that doctor's cabin. Hidden and ready to catch the murderers. Is that clear?"

Arjun and Almas nodded. "Sir, you know who is the murderer?" Almas asked. Uncertainty was clearly written on her face. Abhijeet smiled. He was enjoying his juniors' confusion. "Don't trouble them, Abhijeet," said Tarika. Of course, she could understand what was going on his mind. He smiled at her. 

"Arjun, do one more thing," said Abhijeet. Arjun looked at him and listened to his senior's instructions, which confused him more. "You have time till Tuesday evening and on Wednesday, the case will be solved," Abhijeet declared in a dismissing tone.
