Chapter Ten
Silverdust was helping Ratchet organize the medbay to his liking while waiting for the others to return from patrolling or to hear back from those rebuilding Cybertron. It was quiet and Silverdust liked it, though it did slightly unnerve her. She wasn't used to this kind of quiet. There wasn't the normal hustle and bustle out in the hallways, because there weren't all the vehicon troops patrolling the hallways. They were either helping with construction, or being held in the brig because they refused to work the Autobots. Knockout was in the brig too, even though the others had informed her of his wanting to switch over to being an Autobot.
Silverdust was knocked out of her thoughts by a ground bridge opening in the medbay, and Smokescreen pulling a severely injured Ultra Magnus through it. Silverdust's optics widened, and she rushed to help, Ratchet a little bit ahead of her. They got him onto a medical berth and the autobot CMO started working on him, scanning to see what was wrong. Silverdust started working on fixing his superficial injuries, welding the cuts closed so the commander's energon would stop leaking. She only paused when she finished with those.
"He is suffering from a multitude of internal injuries, most quite severe", Ratchet said as Ultra Magnus groaned in his pain induced sleep.
"So, care to explain what two more predacons are doing on Cybertron?" Arcee asked.
"I thought Optimus said new life wasn't possible on Cybertron without the Allspark", Bulkhead responded. Silverdust shook her head. While she knew Bulkhead wasn't the smartest, it still annoyed her sometimes. He just forgets to look at all possibilites, such as Shockwave.
"I'm no authority", Bumblebee growled softly. "But something tells me cloning old bones doesn't constitute new life."
"Shockwave's been playing in his lab since the war", Bulkhead said. "Why stop now?"
"Doesn't matter where those beasts came from", Smokescreen finally spoke up. Silverdust had completely forgotten he was there until then. He was leaning against the wall, glaring down at the floor. "We gotta take em down", he snarled, turning to face the others.
Bumblebee got a thoughtful look on his face. "If Shockwave's back in business, there could be more of them. A lot more."
"We need to call Optimus", Bulkhead immediately said. Silverdust shook her head.
"We can't", she told Bulkhead. "He has his own mission to perform. We need to figure this out on our own."
Bumblebee nodded and told the others to get ready for a scouting mission. Silverdust frowned. "Why search for the two predacons? It's not like you're gonna find them. Shockwave is very good at hiding."
Bumblebee smiled in amusement. "We're not searching for those predacons. We're searching for Predaking."
Silverdust's optics widened. "Take me with you!" she nearly shouted as she lunged at Bumblebee. Bumblebee was about to refuse, but Silverdust kept talking. "He was my friend here, he'll listen to me! Please... take me with you."
Silverdust stared pleadingly at Bumblebee, and eventually he crumpled. "Fine. But you're the one who has to tell Heatwave."
Silverdust nodded, and instantly started heading out toward the construction area, where she knew her sparkmate would be. She passed by several vehicons, who greeted her with familiarity. She always greeted them back by name, having befriended some of them. These were ones who disagreed with Megatron, and wanted him gone. They had seen how he treated Silverdust, and wished it would stop.
"Silverdust!" The white and gold femme smiled at the familiar voice and turned to look at the mech she had grown to love.
"Heatwave!" she grinned as she turned to look at the red mech. As he grew closer, she threw her arms around him and hugged him tightly.
"What are you doing here?" Heatwave asked as he hugged her.
"I just came to see how the construction was going", Silverdust said innocently. The firefighter mech stared at her, not believing a single word she was saying, which caused her to giggle nervously.
"I'm going on a scouting mission with Bumblebee, Bulkhead, Smokescreen, and Arcee", Silverdust said nervously.
"Okay", Heatwave said. Silverdust pulled away in surprise.
"You're not going to try and stop me?"
"Why should I? You're your own femme. You can make your own choices. Besides... you'll be safe with those four. They're good fighters. I just hope you won't come across any fighting."
Silverdust stared at him in surprise before grinning widely. "Thank you, Heatwave."
Heatwave was about to say something in return but Silverdust's comm-link pinged. It was a message from Bumblebee, telling her that they were meeting in front of the warship.
"I gotta go! I'll see you later, Wave!" With that Silverdust ran off, heading towards the meeting place.

"Watch your step", Bumblebee said, leading them along a path that none of them recognized, pausing to grab a odd shaped pole. Silverdust knew that Bee knew what he was doing, and followed silently.
"Who made him leader?" Smokescreen asked from the back of the group.
"Bee did snuff Megatron", Bulkhead explained.
"I'm not leading", Bee called back as he knelt down and swiped at something there. "I'm scouting."
"Fair enough", Smokescreen said. "But you do realize that we're no where near where we found those predacons, right."
Silverdust sighed from in front of Smokescreen and turned to look at him. "We're not looking for those unknown predacons. We're looking for an old friend of mine. Why do you think I was allowed on this mission? Bee wouldn't have let me come if it weren't for the fact that I could possibly persuade him."
"Woah!" Bulkhead exclaimed. "You mean we've been tracking..." He paused at the sound of wingbeats as the large dragon looking predacon rose up and screeched at them. "Predaking?"
Silverdust stayed still, just behind Bumblebee as the others backed up and readied their weapons. She saw Predaking began to build up fire in his throat and instantly stepped forward.
"Predaking! It's okay! We're not here to hurt you! We just want to talk!"
Predaking's fire died down as he chirped curiously, looking at the white femme standing before him. He narrowed his eyes and hesitated.
"Please, Predaking. You know I'd never harm you. You're my friend, just as these four are. Please... hear us out. You may find that we have some interesting information for you, if you don't possibly know it yourself."
Predaking's eyes softened, though they still held a bit of wariness in them. Silverdust watched as he shrunk down into his bipedal form, and his proud voice rang out from him.
"What could you possibly know that I don't?" he rumbled.
Bumblebee spoke up at that time. "Do you know any other predacons currently on Cybertron?"
"Indeed", Predaking growled. "Legions of them. Behold! My subjects, a countless multitude, rendered extinct by the great cataclysm, unearthed by the shifting of the plates during our planets restoration."
"Yeah, well, me and Ultra Magnus just about got scrapped by two living predacons. Know anything about them, your highness?" Smokescreen said sharply. Silverdust growled softly at his mocking tone.
"Two? Where?" Predaking asked in excitement.
Silverdust answered. "We don't know. We were hoping you could help us find them, so that we might find out exactly what Shockwave and Starscream are planning, in hopes that we can prevent any more blood be stained upon Cybertron's soil."
"Princess, I have no doubts that you are telling the truth, but I cannot forgive the Autobots for the role they played in my comrades destruction."
Silverdust grimaced at the title she had been given. "I'm no princess here, Predaking. I may have been on Megatron's warship, but I want no connection to him. And I understand that, but can we set that anger aside just for a little bit, for the good of Cybertron. If Shockwave and Starscream continue to run around, we may all be fighting the others of your kind, including you. Because I have no doubt that those two will use the predacons they're cloning to wreak all sorts of havoc. We need your help, Predaking."
Predaking hesitated. "Very well. I shall put my feelings aside so that we may save Cybertron from being ruined at the servos of those two decepticons. However. I shall only work with the pri- Silverdust because she is the only one I trust."
Bumblebee hesitated, and looked at the others, who all seemed to be saying no to that idea. They didn't want Optimus' adopted daughter to be hurt. Bumblebee looked at Silverdust, who had a determined look in her optics.
"Bee, we can do this. I can protect myself, and Predaking is powerful. If we come across the predacons, we can take them."
Bumblebee sighed. "Okay, but you have to call for backup if you see them."
Silverdust nodded, and looked to Predaking. "We will accept your request. For this mission, you and I shall be partners."
Predaking smiled lightly. "When shall we start?"
Silverdust looked at Bumblebee. "It would be best if we could start right away", he said. "We'll split into pairs. Silverdust and Predaking, Bulkhead and Arcee, and then me and Smokescreen. Search different quadrants, report back to each other every twenty earth minutes. We'll search for two earth hours, and unless one of us finds something in those two hours, we meet back at the Nemesis, and figure out the next best plan."
Everyone nodded, and Predaking transformed, gesturing for Silverdust to climb on his back. The femme did so, and Predaking took off. Silverdust let out a surprised squeak, and flailed around trying to grab something to hold onto. When she finally felt secure, she looked around and gaped at the sight she was seeing.
"Woah. I mean, I know I can fly, but seeing it when I'm not in my alt form is amazing. The others are missing a beautiful view."
Predaking chirped lightly and Silverdust smiled. "It'd be amazing if we could understand you when you're in this form."
Predaking chirped again. Silverdust gazed around before getting an idea. "Hey, what if instead of searching for them, we bring them to us?"
Predaking tilted his head to the side, as if asking a question.
"Your fire. If you send a long blast of fire into the sky, someone is bound to see it, like those two predacons. If they find us, we can talk to them."
Predaking angled downwards, landing and allowing Silverdust to get off of him, before transforming. "Are you certain this will work?"
Silverdust nodded. "Give it your best shot."
Predaking transformed, and immediately sent a very long breath of fire into the sky, before transforming once more. "Now what?"
"Now we wait" Silverdust answered. "If they don't show up in an hour, we'll leave and search properly."
Predaking nodded, and they just sat there, waiting for something to show up, hopefully those two predacons.

Silverdust sighed. "It's nearly been three hours, and there's been nothing. I know Bee gave us permission to stay out longer, but still. I don't think this is gonna work..." Predaking growled, and stood up, walking forward a little bit. His face brightened.
"There's something coming!" Silverdust stood at those words and stepped up beside Predaking. As the object got closer, Silverdust frowned.
"That's not a predacon, but it is distinctly cybertronian. Slightly familiar, but also not."
Predaking nodded, and watched intently as the cybertronian got closer. They transformed in front of the duo, and Silverdust's optics widened at the face. The very familiar face... She started trembling as memories of the five long years she spent thinking the Autobots were dead went through her head.
"Megatron?!" Predaking snarled in shock.
Silverdust couldn't pay attention to the conversation in front of her. She was getting sucked into her own helm. Suddenly a familiar voice came through on her comm-link and managed to calm her down enough that she could hear the sounds of battle going on around her.
"Silverdust! Are you alright!" Heatwave exclaimed.
"I'm fine, Heatwave", Silverdust said shakily in response.
"Are you sure? Your voice is shaking."
"That's because... Megatron is back... somehow... I don't know... he looks different."
"It's not Megatron", Heatwave said quietly. "It's Unicron. Bee and the others barely escaped him alive. Get out of there!"
"I can't leave Predaking", she said bravely and ended the call. She ignored him when he tried to call back. She wanted to help.
Silverdust looked back at Predaking and the mech that looked like her abusive sire. She tried to stop the trembling but it didn't work, and it grew worse when Unicron started to get the upper hand. Eventually, he managed to knock the powerful predacon unconscious, and Silverdust started sneaking back, attempting to escape. She knew she stood no chance.
She watched as Unicron pressed a hand against Predaking's helm, and she knew that the god was searching through her friends memories. What for, she didn't know. Finally, he looked away, and directly at her. She froze, all except for her trembling and watched with scared eyes as the cybertronian grew closer. When he was standing in front of her, she was cowering like an earth deer in headlights.
"You're closest to Prime, out of all the minions of the Prime I've met. Yet you also seem to share a bond with Megatron. Just who exactly are you, femme."
Silverdust couldn't speak, her voice box refused to work.
"Ah, so you're Megatron's daughter. But the Prime adopted you. Perhaps you would make a good bargaining chip then. Of course, the Autobots won't actually get anything good from the bargain, but that doesn't matter."
Silverdust tried to shake her head and say no, but all that happened was she whimpered.
"At least you know when to be afraid, because you should be very, very afraid of me", he grinned. For I can cause your eternal suffering if I so chose to, just as I am doing to your sire right now."
Unicron grabbed her arm, and stared into her optics deeply. "You will follow me or else I will make sure both your sire and your adopted sire will perish. And don't even think about trying to contact your fellow Autobots."
Silverdust nodded meekly, and transformed when Unicron did, following him back to the place where she had first found Predaking with her friends. She wished they were here now. To save her from the mech that looked somewhat like her sire, but in reality was so much worse.
As they approached, Silverdust noticed four mechs, two of which were very familiar. Starscream and Shockwave, as well as what had to be the two predacons Smokescreen and Ultra Magnus encountered. She and Unicron landed, and walked forward, her standing just a little bit behind him, and looking down at the ground.
"I do find it curious that I am not the only one currently seeking out the remains of mighty legions", Unicron said loudly, gaining the attention of the four cybertronains.
"It cannot be...." Starscream said in shock.
"It defies logic", Shockwave continues.
"Lord Megatron", Starscream says. "But.. But how?"
Silverdust tuned out of the conversation, not wanting to listen to Starscream's grovelling. She was only startled back into the conversation when Unicron boomed a loud "Silence!" She realized that Unicron had moved forward, and stepped foward until she was again, just a little bit behind him. Starscream had been knocked back several feet.
"Your master is under my control. I am the Destroyer of Worlds, the Bringer of Chaos, and the Lord of the Undead!" As Unicron spoke, he started glowing purple. Silverdust backed up as the two predacons transformed and started attacking Unicron. She knew they stood no chance, because Unicron managed to defeat Predaking. There was no way they would beat him, even there were two of them.
Silverdust watched as Unicron beat up the two predacons, knocking them unconscious. He walked forward, gesturing Silverdust to follow him, which she did wordlessly, shrinking into her armor plating as Starscream finally noticed her.
"Princess? What are you doing with him?"
"She is a bargaining chip", Unicron snarled before bring purple lightning down to the ground, and sending it out to all of the predacon bones. Silverdust watched as the ground glowed purple and started breaking it apart as the predacons began to rise out of their graves.
Silverdust watched as Starscream took off in fear of the predacons, and as Shockwave tried to fight them, only to fail miserably. She closed her eyes, and waited until it was over.
"Come, Princess", Unicron said mockingly. "There are places we need to be so we can end the life of my brother once and for all."
Silverdust shuddered at the thought of Cybertron being dead, but followed Unicron to one of the Predacons. Unicron made her climb on top of it, and then he climbed on it as well, sitting behind her to make sure she couldn't leave.
Unicron lead the Predacons towards a familiar location. Silverdust's eyes widened. "You're heading directly for the spark of Primus... the Well of Allsparks..."
Unicron chuckled menacingly. "Is that what you fools call it? How suffocating."
Silverdust drew in on herself, and stared at the ground in front of the predacon, trying to ignore the predicament she had gotten herself into. But it wouldn't leave her mind, and it was all she could do but pray that Bumblebee and the others would get there on time. She also prayed that there would be no casualties in this final battle. Because that's what it was going to be. A final battle between the Autobots, and the ultimate Chaos Bringer.
As Silverdust thought, a peaceful feeling entered her spark, and she somehow she knew that everything would be okay. She just had to keep holding on. And that's what she did, as her captor led his army to the Well of Allsparks.
