Chapter 33

TW: Violence.

Lilly, earlier that day:

I am so bored!

I groan with frustration as I stare up at the ceiling. I have been writing music all day, but it's no fun without the equipment from the studio.

I find myself longing for the enclosed space of the studio, wishing I could use it right now. I am begging for release from this silent hell.

I never realized how boring it is in this house. I have a TV but there is only news. I could watch Netflix, but I don't feel like watching anything. I don't have any of my books, I don't have any games, I'm already bored with my phone, and writing music is just making me miss Yoongi even more.

I pull out my phone again to check the time. It's only 9 am.

I groan again, rolling over so I am facing the back of the couch. Why do the days go so slow? When have I been such a boring person?

If I could go out I wouldn't be so bored, but I am in lockdown. A friend of Bang PD-nim has been bringing any groceries I need. I wanted BTS to deliver them, but apparently, the fan might be watching them. If they come here, they'll know I'm here.

As much as I understand my life might be at stake, I can't help but feel like this is a bit much.

Yeah, fans are crazy. But I have never heard of a fan who physically attacked an idol's girlfriend. Then again, I don't look at much kpop news.

Plus, if they find me, what will they do? Ask me not to date their bias? I can't see the encounter going well for them.

I stare at the ceiling for a little longer, longing for it to give me some hobby inspiration. But it yields nothing.

Eventually, I decide to just play a random movie on Netflix. Who cares if I don't like it? It's better than sitting here, staring at the roof, thinking about that stupid fan.

If you could call them a fan.

Anger boils inside of me every time I think about them. What is so special about BTS, that any girl with them needs to die? What about the other member's girlfriends? Will they be able to handle this as well as I am? Or will they give up on them and break up, like so many other kpop idol couples?

I pull out my phone and text Yoongi. The movie is boring, and I want to see if he misses me.

LILLY: Hey, how's work?

I wait for a moment, staring at the miniature screen. It doesn't take him long to reply.

YOONGI: It's alright, it would be better if you were here.

LILLY: You know I can't leave my house right now. Not until that person is found.

YOONGI: I know... I just miss you.

LILLY: I'll see you soon, okay?

YOONGI: Alright, I'll call you later, okay?

LILLY: Yeah, yeah. Get back to work before Namjoon tells me I'm a bad influence again!

YOONGI: Ignore him, I've been doing what I want for as long as I've been a BTS member.

LILLY: Ha, ha. Bye!

YOONGI: Bye baby x

I giggle and squirm.

Baby...

I don't know why, but Yoongi calling me baby makes me fangirl. I wonder if there are any videos of him saying, Baby, that fans have made?

I put my phone aside and click the YouTube button on my remote.

I don't find what I am looking for, just short videos of Yoongi saying baby on a loop. But I do find a video that catches my eye.

'YOONGI'S CUTE NOISES/VOICES'

Intrigued, I click on it, ready for any amount of adorableness that is presented to me.

By the end of it, I am squealing. I want to call Yoongi and tell him what I did, but I stop myself. This will be my little secret.

The video is about Yoongi making adorable noises and speaking cutely. He hasn't acted like that around me, so I am excited to tease him about it later. Whether he regrets being cute or not, I will make him act cute in front of me again.

I move on to another video that has caught my eye:

'SAVAGE SUGA'

This sounds more like him.

I giggle. I don't hate the cuteness, but it's a lovely side of him I haven't had the pleasure of witnessing yet.

I click on the video.

There is a moment during the video where Namjoon speaks English really fast. It seems to be a confessional sort of situation. Yoongi just sticks his middle finger through the mesh. I had to pause the video for a second because I couldn't stop laughing.

Is this my life now? Watching my boyfriend on YouTube? Am I that bored?

Well, hubby now...

I smirk, starting the video again.

It's basically a compilation of Yoongi doing savage/sassy things during shows/broadcasts. It's strange watching him on the TV like this, knowing full well I know him so well now.

After quite a lot of videos, I look at the time. I have been watching a variety of BTS funny compilations and all the music videos I haven't seen, plus a lot of BANGTANBOMB videos. I have been on YouTube for 5 hours. I have wasted 5 hours watching BTS videos.

5 hours???

It's almost 3 pm and I haven't had lunch yet.

When will Yoongi finish practice for the day?

Just as I pick up my phone to message him, it starts ringing. It's an unknown number.

Frowning, I answer it.

"Hello?"

"Hello, is this Min Lilly?" A deep voice responds.

"Yes speaking, who is this?" I ask, feeling a little worried. I just remembered that Bang PD-nim told me not to answer any unknown calls.

"I am calling from the electricity company about your recent bill,"

I take a deep breath, feeling a lot better. It's not the fan, just the billing company.

"Oh, hello. What's wrong with the bill? I'm pretty sure I paid it,"

"Before we go any further, we'd like to confirm you are Min Lilly,"

"Alright," I frown.

"First confirm your birth date,"

I tell him my birthdate.

"And your full name,"

"Min Lilly," I sigh, "Do you guys always ask these questions?"

"You haven't received security questions before?" The caller snaps. My frown deepens. Should I hang up? What if it really is important?

"Now, please confirm your address,"

I bite my lip. I'm sure they haven't asked me for my address before.

"Shouldn't you know that already?"

"Would you like me to call back another time?" The caller asks, "Or we can send officials to your apartment,"

"No, that's okay," I sigh, reciting my address.

The line goes silent, so silent I can hear his breathing on the other end.

"Hello?" I mumble, listening carefully.

"W-We just wanted to let you know that we'll be checking your meter next week, okay?"

"Alright," I frown.

"Have a good night," He murmurs cheerfully before hanging up.

I look down at the phone. Why on earth did they need to confirm my identity to check my meter? Don't they check the meter before you move in?

I look up at the TV screen and spot a video I haven't seen. I push the thought of the electricity call as I click on it, feeling excited again.

3 hours later my stomach begins rumbling aggressively. I decide it's time to make dinner. It's already 6 pm.

I head into the kitchen, pulling out some ramen and a pot. I pour the noodles into a bowl when my phone vibrates. I open it and read it.

UNKNOWN: I see you.

I put the empty pot in the sink, clutching my phone as my heart rate increases. I reply.

LILLY: Who is this?

They don't respond for a minute. I take my bowl to the table and begin eating, staring at my phone. Am I being pranked?

The worst time for a prank.

What if it's the fan? How did they get my number?

As fearful thoughts run through my mind, I receive another message.

UNKNOWN: That looks yummy.

My eyes go wide as my heart falls to the pit of my stomach.

This isn't a prank. It's them. It's the fan.

I reply.

LILLY: I'm calling the police.

I bite my lip, waiting for them to respond, my finger hovering over the emergency call button.

UNKNOWN: I wouldn't do that if I were you.

I reply back. The biggest mistake of my life.

LILLY: Is this the person who has been emailing Bighit?

UNKNOWN: Yes.

LILLY: What do you want?

UNKNOWN: Didn't you know that the company checks your meter before you move in?

LILLY: That was you?

UNKNOWN: Yes.

LILLY: Just tell me what you want!

UNKNOWN: Do you really want to know?

LILLY: Yes!

UNKNOWN: Then come open the door for me.

I look up at my front door, my heart beating fast and hard against my throat. He's here? He's really here?

I stand up and move towards the kitchen, my eyes glued to the front door.

"Go away!" I scream as the fear lashes out of me. I cling to the kitchen bench making my knuckles go white.

I hear a deep chuckle. Whoever it is, their voice is deep. Too deep. Like the devil has crawled his way up to whisper things in my ear. I shiver, chilled to the bone.

"Open up, Lilly..." He snickers, "Don't make me break down the door,"

I sink to my knees, clutching my phone. I am screaming at myself in my head, begging myself to call the police, hide, move, scream. Do anything! But, I remain still, staring at the door, my hands shaking. Memories, fears, too many thoughts. Things come clawing back into my mind.

Am I going to die here?

"Okay, we'll do this the hard way," He whispers through the door. Chills run up and down my spine.

Call the police!

I fumble with my phone, trying to find the emergency number. I look up at the door just as the doorknob turns and swings open. In the doorway is a man, tall, muscular and broad. He is wearing black clothes, a leather jacket, a black cap and a mask. His eyes are dark and angular. They crinkle at the edges as he smiles down at me.

My voice is caught in my throat. Instinctively, I press call.

His eyes dart to my phone, the movement from my finger catching his eye. He storms forward, closing the gap between us in seconds.

"Hello?"

I open my mouth to scream, but he clamps his gloved hand over my mouth. He tugs the phone from my hand easily.

"Hello? This is the police,"

He hangs up.

"Naughty..." The man tsks.

He places the phone on the counter before crouching behind me. His movements are slow and controlled, like an army officer, or a serial killer.

"Why did you have to be with him? Huh?" He murmurs, gently grabbing my wrists and holding them behind me. I twist and tug, trying to pry away from him. But he is too strong. Even though he's holding me with one hand I can't break away. How big are his hands? How strong is he?

My lower lip wobbles as I feel him tie cable ties around my wrists before covering them with tape. I feel suffocated as the hopelessness overwhelms me.

Scream!

"HE-" Before I can finish my sentence, he places a tape over my mouth. He stands and walks to the door, closing it silently.

He stands by the door, looking down at me. His eyes swallow me up, the darkness consuming me. His stare scares me to the core, but I can't look away.

"Lilly..." He saunters over, taking his time opening the bag that was on his back, "Do you know why I am doing this?"

I shake my head. A sob tries to fight its way out as tears fall down my face. My eyes widen at the tools he is pulling from his bag.

"Well," His eyes crinkle again, "My girlfriend left me because of BTS. Suga was her favourite,"

I frown. Isn't this too cliché?

"I know it sounds typical, but we loved each other," He sighs, "She took her beatings every day like she was supposed to. Then one day she leaves. She left behind a poster of Min Yoongi. I knew it was his fault. I had to destroy him," He stands and walks over to me. He grabs my arm and lifts me to my feet easily.

He beat his girlfriend and blamed BTS? Why is this guy still roaming the streets?

I struggle, using all my weight to pull away from him. But he drags me away easily.

My mind struggles to come up with a solution. Fear, hopelessness, and weakness consume every thought in my mind. I can't think.

Why didn't I call the police immediately? Why didn't I scream? Why did I have to freeze like that?

Why, why, why, why, why?

Yoongi...

"You are going to sit right here," He shoves me into the wall that separates the lounge room and dining room. I hit a shelf hard. I black out.

I wake up a long time later. My eyes flicker open, trying to understand what's happening around me.

"You're awake? So weak..." All I see is his smirk, that evil smirk. He's removed his mask. I look around the room, trying to figure out how long I've been knocked out. A muffled whimper escapes me as I pull my legs as far away from him as possible. Tears fall down my cheeks as I stare at what he's prepared.

He's organised a variety of knives and blunt objects in a line in front of me.

He is sitting cross-legged on the other side of them, spinning my phone in his hand.

"Your boyfriend... want to see if he's messaged you?"

I nod vigorously. He chuckles, showing me the message.

YOONGI: I'm finished work for the day, can I come over early?

I struggle to pull myself from my bonds, but it's no use.

Yoongi... help me.

"I'm going to respond," He says blankly, taking the phone back and typing. Once he's done he shows me the message:

LILLY: I am going to bed. Goodnight.

"Now it's just you and me," He smirks, "When he sees what I've done to you, he'll feel the pain he needs to feel. Hopefully, I won't get too excited and hand him a body," He chuckles, his eyes alight.

I whimper, trying to make myself smaller.

Even back with my first boyfriend, I have never felt this weak, or this useless. Because now this pain won't just hurt me, it'll hurt him.

"Let's see how much you can stand," He chuckles, getting to his feet.

I shake my head, trying to push myself away. I don't know why I bothered.

His fist collides painfully with the side of my head. It snaps around and hits the wall behind me, denting it.

I sob, trying to blink the stars from my eyes. Now would be a better time to black out, so why not now? Is fate so cruel that I must be awake to experience this?

He picks me up and throws me to the floor. Before I can even gasp he lifts me and throws me again. I am winded, crying and bleeding.

Yoongi! Save me!

Please!

He doesn't touch me, so I open my eyes. He is towering over me, a small knife in his hand. I close my eyes as I feel his hand caress my skin, exploring. He cuts me. I wince, trying to pull away. He backhands me, pulling me closer to him.

Caress, caress, slash. Caress, caress, slash. The routine continues for so long, I feel like I've lost my mind. All I can feel is his hands, the sting, and the dripping of blood. On and on. Caress, caress, slash. Caress, caress, slash. My breathing becomes heavier.

All of a sudden, his phone vibrates. I tense, waiting for him to cut me again. He chuckles, looking down at it. He sighs.

"I'm afraid our time is up," He murmurs. He stands, looming over me like a beast watching his prey slowly die.

I let out a sigh of relief as I feel safer. Something is coming, someone is coming. They'll save me.

I wish I hadn't groaned aloud.

I feel his foot hit my chest hard. The pain takes a moment to hit me, like a poison spreading from the point of contact.

I groan, crying in earnest.

I lose all feeling. I can't see clearly, I can't hear clearly. My senses have decreased. This torture has made me lose myself. I can't think. I can't reason. I just cry. I don't know how long I lie there.

Soon, I feel a hand on my arm. I panic, my screams muffled by the tape.

"It's okay!" I look up at the figure. It's a police officer. He quickly removes the tight restraints from my wrists, freeing my aching arms, before gently peeling off the tape from my mouth.

I'm safe. I'm finally safe.

"Yoongi" I sob. The officer leans down and picks me up, taking me to the couch. I cry into their shoulder, begging, telling.

He listens to my story, not blinking. He gives out a few orders. I don't notice a lot of it. It's all too real right now.

After I'm finished, I sit in silence, hiccupping and sobbing. As I calm down a little, I realise the attack didn't occur for that long. I spiralled.

He leaves me to my thoughts, not offering words of comfort or touching me. At first, I feel hurt, but then the other officer touches a cut on my leg and I cringe away from him.

Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me.

Yoongi.

"Min Yoongi is on his way," The officer smiles. I nod as the other officer moves away.

I'll see him soon. I'll feel better soon. I push aside all my thoughts, concentrating on Yoongi.

He'll be here soon.
