Chapter 28

Lilly:

"What are your plans for today?" Yoongi asks as we enter the Bighit building. I consider his question, thinking about the work that has piled up because certain music producers work without break.

"I have a few songs to polish up for Donghyuk. Also, Bang PD wants to have a meeting about the popularity of the new album and talk about upcoming songs and collaborations," I summarize, realizing exactly how much work I have to catch up on, "What are you doing today?"

"I have a meeting with Bang PD after you," Yoongi smiles, "About the collaborations coming up, and award ceremonies,"

"I see," I bite my lip. It occurred to me the other day that Yoongi needs to spend more time at the dorm and with his members. I recall the conversation I heard between Yoongi and Namjoon.

FLASHBACK:

"Have you been staying there this whole time?" Namjoon asked.

"Yeah, where did you think I was?"

Namjoon scoffed, frowning.

"I thought you were working, that's where you normally are,"

Yoongi looked down at his hands, looking belittled and ashamed to be disciplined by a younger member.

"I'm sorry... I've just been caught up,"

Namjoon tsked, folding his arms.

"I understand this is a new relationship for you, but you are an artist," Namjoon sighed, "We are so behind, and fans have been saying you have been removed from the group because you don't turn up to commercials,"

Yoongi bit his lip, trying to hide his shame from his leader.

"Band PD is worried, I am worried," Namjoon stepped forward, placing his hands on Yoongi's shoulders, "We need you back, okay?"

Yoongi nodded, staying frozen as Namjoon walked away.

"Yoongi," I start as the elevator doors open. Yoongi smirks before beaming down at me.

"What is it?" He asks cutely.

"I think you should move back into the dorms," I state firmly, trying not to look too cold or too firm.

"Why would you say that?" He asks, grasping my hand.

"I overheard your conversation with Namjoon," I look up at him, "You need to concentrate on your work,"

Yoongi considers this for a moment, staring deeply into my eyes. After a moment, he sighs, conceding.

"All right," He smirks bitterly, "As long as I can stay at your place on weekends, or over two days if I have an event on, okay?"

I smirk, beaming up at him. I thought he was going to argue, fight, or even suggest leaving BTS to be with me. I'm glad he's not that desperate. I'm glad he's not willing to give it all up for me. They worked hard to get where they are. Previously, they only rested during video or photo shoots. He needs to get back into it.

"Fine," I grin, giving his hand a little squeeze. As the elevator doors open I let him go, rushing over to the meeting room. Yoongi turns and heads to the practice room where BTS are waiting for him.

The meeting is long and by the end of it, I'm ready to go home. But I have too much work to do. Basically, Bang PD wants us to work extra hard to make another album sooner rather than later. The next album will be followed by a world tour, so it has to be epic, amazing, and unique.

Bang PD has noticed I am very good at noticing problems or errors in already existing songs, so I have been delegated the job of checking and adjusting every song.

This job used to be delegated to all the producers, so they seem a little jealous, yet relieved that some of their workloads have been given to me.

"Do a good job," Donghyuk smiles, patting my back. I bow, thanking him, before heading to my studio.

I look at the list of songs I have to listen to and edit.

Why are there so many already?

Apparently, the next album will be more ballad, with a few upbeat songs as the main songs. This is much easier to edit, but I begin to feel drowsy as I listen to the first song.

It's going to be a long day.

I jump as a knock on my door surprises me.

"Come in!" I call out, expecting to see Band PD or Donghyuk pestering me to hurry up. But instead, I find Jungkook peeking into the room.

I stumble to my feet, bowing to him.

"Hey, Jungkook," I gesture to the second seat in my little room, "Finished practice?"

Jungkook beams as he takes the seat. I sit beside him.

"Nah, we're just having a break," He looks at the song I'm working on, "Is this for the album?"

"Yeah, it's produced by Adora. I'm not sure who wrote the lyrics, but it's nice to listen to,"

Jungkook chuckles.

"You're red-eyed and yawning," He smirks, "Is it putting you to sleep?"

"A little," I confess, minimizing the program, "What can I do for you?"

Jungkook shuffles uncomfortably as he glances briefly at me, his expression and demeanour changing instantly.

"Well, I was wondering if you're busy this weekend..."

I blush, but I'm not sure why. Why do I feel like he's asking me on a date?

"Well, I guess, why?"

"We're performing this weekend, and I want you to be one of our backup dancers," He smiles pleadingly. He's so adorable I can't help but giggle.

"I'd like to, but I don't know the dance,"

"That's okay," Jungkook shuffles forward in his chair, "It's simple. You'll pick it up easily,"

"We'll see. Is there no one else? I'm not sure if Bang PD will allow me,"

Jungkook shakes his head quickly.

"Don't worry. One of the backup dancers injured themselves so they can't make it. I told him you are a really good dancer, so he sent me to ask you,"

That makes sense, of course he's here to see me for an innocent reason. What's wrong with me?

I look at Jungkook curiously. He has a very 'bad boy' aura. The way he sits, the way he stares at me, all of it. He makes me feel like I am sitting beside a real manly man. Then, all of a sudden, he switches to this adorable, bunny-like cuteness. How can he be both cute and badass?

Or sexy, but whatever floats your boat.

I ignore this thought. I can't think things like this whilst I am dating Yoongi, especially not after what happened with Jimin.

"I'd love to dance for you guys," I say after the initial shock wears off, I shiver with excitement. Jungkook chuckles, looking up at me with those eyes. I blush and look down at my hands. Jungkook stands, making me look up at him.

Why is it that I feel so small, like a young girl, in front of him? He's a year younger than me, why am I feeling this type of aura?

"Let's go," He holds his hand out for me to take, smirking at me like he's enjoying a private joke.

Just as I am about to let him lead me to the practice room, the door slams open.

We both whip our heads around to see Yoongi in the doorway. He is glaring at us like he was expecting to find us doing something.

His expression softens, and the tension leaves his body. He frowns as if trying to control an emotion I can't identify. Eventually, his expression becomes wary.

What's going on?

"Let's go, the choreographer wants to start," He murmurs, not looking at Jungkook.

"Ah, s-s-sorry," Jungkook stutters, "I was looking at the composition Lilly was working on,"

I frown at the two of them. They're not looking at each other and Jungkook looks nervous. Yoongi just looks wary or distracted, I can't tell. He doesn't acknowledge Jungkook, grabbing my hand and leading me from the studio, leaving Jungkook behind.

What is going on between these two?

Has being away from the dorms caused them to hate each other? Is Yoongi just jealous of all of his members now?

Have I ruined his friendships?

"Ah! Lilly!" A man laughs, his arms open wide, "I hear you need to learn the choreography?"

I nod, unable to speak. My mind is still on Yoongi and Jungkook, and their weird behaviour.

Jungkook slips into the room, standing beside the other BTS members. Yoongi joins him.

"All right, I'll get everyone to go over the dance without Lilly, so she can see what the dance is supposed to look like,"

I watch as the choreographer sets up the music and the members begin to dance. The choreographer has joined in what I assume will be my position during the performance. I am happy to see that I will be dancing similarly to them, just behind them. Except for one moment.

During the last chorus, each of the female dancers dance in front of the BTS members, sexily. I watch as a random girl dances provocatively in front of Yoongi. I quickly look back at the choreographer, feeling the heat rise up my body, embarrassment and jealousy.

The member I will be dancing in front of is Jungkook.

At the end of the performance, I am blushing furiously. My chest hurts from the mixture of jealousy, guilt, and embarrassment.

"Alright, so now I will teach you the first part without BTS," The choreographer gestures for the members to leave, "Go have a break!"

They leave hesitantly, Yoongi watching me warily. I look away, my jaw set and my head swirling.

However, as soon as the choreographer begins teaching me, my mind goes blank. I allow myself to lose myself in the music, forgetting all the emotions of the past 10 minutes.

After an hour, I have perfected half of the dance.

It's not hard, not like the member's moves. There are quite a few moments during the song where I am not moving at all.

The choreographer calls BTS back in and I begin the excruciating process of learning the provocative movements.

As soon as I master it, the rest is easy. The choreographer is clapping excitedly.

"Wow! Jungkook wasn't lying when he said you are good!" he beams, chuckling at Jungkook's uncomfortably laugh, "Now, let's practice that bit together, come here, Jungkook,"

Jungkook glances at Yoongi before standing in the middle of the room.

The music starts, and we begin. We dance well, moving together in sync. It's easy to follow Jungkook and keep up with him, even though the movements are awkward and uncomfortable. I follow Jungkook's tempo easily, so we move like we've been practising for weeks.

By the end of it, the room is cold. The BTS members and staff shuffle uncomfortably as Yoongi's glaring eyes engulf the room. I ignore him, and so does the choreographer.

"Well done! Now, from the top!" The BTS members and backup dancers get into position.

We do the dance a few times, so I get used to dancing with the group. It's not a difficult dance. If I was learning BTS's parts I wouldn't have learnt it this quick. The backup dancers have very simple, easy movements.

After another hour of adjustments, the choreographer is satisfied.

"Well done everybody! We'll have another practice Thursday and Friday before the performance Saturday night. Fighting!"

Everyone cheers and claps as the choreographer turns and begins packing his things.

The other backup dancers quickly collect their own things and rush out of the room, leaving me and BTS to stand in the cold, brooding aura.

I look up at Yoongi to find him glaring at Jungkook. Jungkook shrinks away, looking scared.

That's enough!

Why does he have to treat his members like this?

Yes, I was jealous of the girl before, but she obviously doesn't have eyes for him. She literally dances like it's her job, and it is. She does the movements and moves on. So I am no longer jealous; if anything, I feel ashamed that I was jealous at all.

This is our job. He has no right to make Jungkook feel uncomfortable.

"Yoongi," I murmur. All the members turn and look at me warily, but Yoongi ignores me.

"Lilly," Jungkook mumbles, "It's okay. I'll see you later," Jungkook bows and shuffles to the exit with the other BTS members. Yoongi's eyes follow Jungkook out the door.

Suddenly, it's just me and him.

I fold my arms, glaring at him. He turns his eyes to me, but the anger and wariness don't leave them.

"Stop this," I say firmly, "This is our job. You don't see me getting jealous over that girl,"

Yoongi's eyes go wide briefly, before looking away. He bites his lip, as if he wants to say something, but can't.

"I'm... I'm not jealous," Yoongi murmurs before clearing his throat, "I'm mad at Jungkook over something else,"

"What did he do?" I ask. Yoongi ignores my question, turning around to grab his bag. He heads to the door, pausing in the doorway to look at me. He slouches like he has a heavy weight on his shoulders.

"Can I come over tonight?" He smiles sadly. I nod, still frowning. Yoongi nods as well as he turns, leaving me alone in the practice room. I let out a loud, frustrated groan, picking up my own bag.

What the hell is going on with them?

I shake my head and leave the room, heading back to my studio.

And I still have so much work to do?!

Fuck!

. . . . .

Jung Kook:

Jungkook slowly saunters out of the Bighit building to the car that the other members are in. Yoongi went ahead already in his own car. Namjoon says he needs to talk to Lilly.

Lie.

Jungkook sighs bitterly. Even though his feelings are new, he can't help feeling jealous and bitter. He had to fight off his triumphant smirk during the dance practice today. But Yoongi's piercing eyes brought him back to reality. There is no point in being happy to be with her. There is no point in being jealous. She doesn't belong to Jungkook, she's Yoongi's girl.

And no amount of jealousy will change that.

Suddenly, Jungkook spots Lilly passing the BTS van on her way out of the garage.

"Lilly!" He calls out automatically. He has nothing to say to her, but he wants to hear her voice one more time.

She turns and beams at him. He jogs over to her, ignoring the sound of one of the members stumbling out of the car to stop him.

"Hey," He grins shyly. She taps him playfully on the shoulder.

"Hey, don't worry about the dance, or Yoongi,"

Jungkook feels his heart increase and his chest inflate, threatening to make him levitate.

Don't worry about Yoongi...

He smirks, trying to hide his happiness at those words.

"I just wanted to ask you if you wanted to practice more tomorrow and Wednesday," Jungkook says, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

Lilly's smile falters a little, but she brings it back, her eyes a little wary.

"Why?" She asks.

"Well, you learnt that dance today and..." He chuckles, "I don't want you to mess up our comeback stage,"

"Yah!" She smacks his chest again, leaving her hand there a little longer than usual as she laughs.

His chest tingles after she removes her hand.

"Okay, we can practice," She shakes her head at his comment.

"Awesome," He turns to the van to see Namjoon watching him like he's grown two heads, "Well I better go before Namjoon drags me back,"

Lilly looks over his shoulder, frowning at Namjoon's expression. She seems to think for a moment, most likely trying to figure out why Namjoon looks so scared. Her frown slides from her face as she appears to decide why he's so wary.

"All good, hey!" She holds his arm as he turns to leave, "Don't worry about Yoongi, I'll talk to him, okay?"

Jungkook nods, trying to ignore the picture of them talking and cuddling on the lounge later.

"It's okay, I'm not worried," He grasps her hand, holding it a little longer than necessary, before turning and running to Namjoon, grinning like an idiot.

He turns and waves to her. She waves back enthusiastically as she turns and leaves the garage. Jungkook's heart aches for a moment, but it's gone almost instantly.

This much is okay... this much is fine.

As long as she doesn't hate me, I'm fine.
