Chapter 19

Jimin:

Today's the day. Jimin grins as he looks up at her window. She's in her kitchen moving around.

She's having a late breakfast.

Jimin runs his fingers through his hair, biting his lip.

This time. This time I'll persuade her.

Nodding to himself, he begins walking across the road, a small smile playing on his lips.

Suddenly, he spots a car he recognizes from Bighit. He ducks behind a pillar as he watches the car leave the garage and down the street. As it passes him, he recognizes the driver.

Grimacing, he squats to the ground, clutching his hair to gain control of his emotions again.

Him again?

Fucking Min Yoongi.

He takes a deep breath and stands again, watching the car go regretfully. Of all the members he could go up against, he wishes it wasn't Yoongi.

He recalls the call from Namjoon he received last night not long after leaving Lilly's place:

"Jiminie, what are you doing?" Namjoon whispered tiredly.

"Hyung, I love her," Jimin responded, his chest tightening.

"But she doesn't love you back," Namjoon said firmly, "You can't keep terrorizing her like this or you won't even be able to salvage a friendship,"

"You don't know anything!" Jimin snapped, his hand gripping the phone tightly, "I know she still has feelings for me. I can't let her go like this. I've never felt like this before,"

"You're hurting yourself and others," Namjoon sighed, "You need to let go so you can move on, okay?"

"Stay out of this, Namjoon Hyung," Jimin sniffled, ignoring the stabbing pain of disappointment, "I'll win her over! Watch me!"

"Jimin, she messaged me. She said you had been there and that she was scared," Namjoon mumbled sadly, "Please, don't do this,"

"I'm hanging up," Jimin snapped, turning his phone off.

He pushes these thoughts aside as he slips into the garage before it closes.

He rushes up the stairs to her home. He stands in front of the door, his heart beating fast.

Taking another deep breath, he knocks.

"Who is it?" He grins as he hears her timid voice on the other side.

"It's me," he says, trying to control his butterflies.

"Jimin?" she says loudly, gasping.

"Can I come in?" he bites his lip, imagining her blushing.

She's not blushing you idiot, she's scared!

He once again ignores his subconscious.

"Jimin, I can't see you today..."

"Why?" He asks, frowning slightly.

"Yoongi will be back soon,"

"He'll be back?" Jimin grimaces, imagining them cuddling on the couch, "Does he live here already?"

"At the moment, yes," She replies.

"I just want to talk, I promise," Jimin murmurs. He must see her.

"I don't know..." She mumbles, right next to the door. He looks up at the little hold in the door. He smiles kindly up at it, hoping she's looking out.

"Please?"

After a pause, Jimin feels the door rattle. She opens it up slightly, peering up at him hesitantly.

"What do you want to talk about?" She asks. She looks so beautiful in the morning, her tussled hair hanging over her face and neck like a parted veil.

I want to wake up to this...

"Us," He says without thinking.

She sighs and looks away from him.

"Jimin I can't do this right now," She whispers. Jimin clenches his fists momentarily before taking a deep breath and unclenching them, pushing on the door instead.

"I want to know what you think of me,"

"Jimin –" She begins.

"I need to know if I have a chance!" Jimin raises his voice hysterically, "Please, just talk with me. Let me in, huh?"

She hesitates a little more, before letting the door go.

She turns and leads him to the dining table, taking a seat carefully.

"Thank you," He smiles as he takes the seat across from her. He takes a moment to stare at her as she waits nervously. He recalls when they first met at the pier in Sydney.

"You remember when we first met?" He asks, his smile widening as he imagines it.

"At the restaurant?" She mumbles before gasping, "No... At the pier, right?"

"Yeah. I saw you for the first time then," He smiles down at his palms, wondering if he should hold her hand like he used to.

"Me too," She smirks, "But I just saw a bunch of foreigners acting crazy,"

"Yeah, we are pretty crazy," He chuckles, recalling how beautiful she looked back then. It has been almost a year since that day, but it feels like forever.

"I wish..." He gulps, looking up into her eyes, "I wish I could go back to that day and start again,"

Lilly bites her lip and looks away.

I want to bite that lip.

Unable to stand it anymore, he grabs her hand, holding it firmly between his. She looks down at his hands in shock.

"Jimin..." she starts, but he shakes his head.

"Can we start again? Can we go back to that day?" He begs, bringing her hand to his lips.

"Jimin... we can't change the past..." She smiles sadly, pulling her hand out of his, "Please, let me go,"

"I can't let you go," He snaps. A sudden thought occurs to him. She's nervous because Yoongi is on his way home.

He stands and grabs her hand, pulling her towards the door.

"Jimin!" She yells tugging from his grip, "What are you doing?"

"Let's go somewhere," He grins, "Let's get away from this place to talk. You'll feel better,"

"No, I won't! I'm still in my pyjamas!" She blushes cutely, convincing Jimin to let her go.

"Get dressed then," He smirks. She shakes her head, holding her hands up.

"I can't go out, Jimin," She looks away from him, "Yoongi will be home soon,"

TWITCH.

Jimin snaps, steps towards her and grabs ahold of her shoulders so she has to look at him.

"Why do you keep mentioning him? I told you I don't want to hear his name!" He yells, shaking her slightly.

"Stop it, Jimin," Lilly whispers. Her breathing seems to be getting harsher, like that time at the restaurant.

"Lilly, please," Jimin begins shaking as he tries to ignore the emotions trying to escape from him.

SLAM!

"PARK JIMIN!" Jimin lets Lilly go, turning around to see Yoongi framed in the doorway just before he enters, slamming the door behind him. Jimin smirks.

Finally, someone to take my anger out on.

Jimin saunters forward as Yoongi walks forward. Yoongi is glaring down at Jimin like he's never seen him before.

"Hey Hyung," Jimin sneers, "What's wrong?"

Before Jimin can react, Yoongi punches him right in the jaw, causing him to fall back onto the tiles. He touches his jaw tenderly, getting into a kneeling position.

"That's for kissing my girl," Yoongi spits before addressing Lilly, "Are you okay?"

Jimin looks up at her as she nods at Yoongi, her eyes wide and fearful.

This is what you've done, Park Jimin. You've ruined everything.

Why did I have to ignore her for so long? If I just ignored my jealousy, we wouldn't be like this right now. If I just ignored those unreasonable feelings, she wouldn't have fallen for Yoongi.

Jimin gets to his feet, glaring at Yoongi. He steps forward and shoves Yoongi back, so he bumps into the kitchen bench. He only winces but can't react in time for Jimin's next attack. Jimin punches him in the nose causing blood to flow out instantly.

"Stop it! Both of you!" Lilly screams, trying to step in.

"Out of the way!" Yoongi yells, pushing her aside so she bumps into the dining table. She gasps in pain, looking at them warily.

You fucking bastard!

"YAH!" Jimin screams, pushing him again, "You want me to stop when you treat her like that? Touch her again and I'll kill you!" Jimin punches him in the gut, hearing a satisfying grunt from Yoongi as he leans forward. He decides to knee him in the head, making Yoongi yelp in pain. Jimin watches Yoongi as he leans back, a huge grin on his face as blood falls into his mouth and down his chin.

"Hey," Yoongi chuckles, "Did you forget the day she ran away from you? Right into my arms?" Before Jimin could do so much as glare at him, Yoongi charges forward, grabbing Jimin around the waist and pushing him to the ground. Jimin gasps completely winded from the fall, Yoongi's weight on top of his chest. Yoongi shuffles so he is sitting astride him, glaring down at him.

"YOU need to stay away from her!" Yoongi growls, punching Jimin in the face. Jimin begins to feel dizzy as he hits him a few more times.

And again.

And again.

Just when he thinks he'll just die there, Yoongi stops.

What is this? Why are there more voices in the room?

How hard did he punch me?

Jimin frowns as he sees 7 people standing in the room instead of 2. What's happening right now?

"Are you okay?" A familiar voice asks as too many hands help him to his feet.

"Lilly..." Jimin mumbles incoherently as his vision goes black.

. . . . .

Yoongi:

"Why are you here?" Yoongi asks as he allows Jungkook to put an ice pack on his head.

"Namjoon called Jimin yesterday and it didn't go well," Jungkook murmurs, looking at the bruise on Yoongi's cheek, "So he asked Bang PD if we could check on you. There was no point in having a meeting without you and Jimin anyway,"

"I see," Yoongi smirks.

Taehyung sighs, frowning down at him. Yoongi glares up at him, knowing exactly what Taehyung wants to say.

"I don't care if he's my friend," Yoongi snaps, "He deserved it,"

"An eye for an eye will make the world go blind," Namjoon chimes in from the lounge room where Jimin is.

Yoongi pulls a face, wincing as Jungkook continues to apply antiseptic cream to the cut on his cheek.

Seokjin enters the kitchen, closing Lilly's bedroom door behind him. Yoongi glares up at him but regrets it immediately.

"Yah!" Seokjin snaps, "Don't you go getting jealous of me! It's your fault you can't see her!" He tsks as he leaves to check on Jimin.

"I still don't see why we don't go to the hospital..." Taehyung mumbles once again.

"How do you think fans will react if we have a scandal like this? After everything we have preached, I don't want to disappoint them... again," Yoongi sighs, looking at the closed bedroom door sadly.

He has never regretted anything more instantly than that moment. He just didn't want her to get hurt, but she looked at him with so much fear. He could see the flashbacks overwhelming her.

He sighs, holding an ice pack to his stomach.

"Jimin?" Yoongi looks up as he hears Seokjin's voice.

"You shouldn't move," Namjoon mumbles consolingly.

Yoongi looks down at his split knuckles, regret and guilt bubbling inside him. All this time he was belittling Jimin for losing his cool, but he just beat his friend to the point where he lost consciousness.

Who's the real monster?

Yoongi bites his lip, waiting for Jimin to come storming in, waiting for Lilly to declare that she is breaking up with him.

He tries to ignore these thoughts and his member's stares.

"Jimin!" Yoongi glances up as Jimin comes stumbling into the room, his eyes unfocused.

"Lilly?" Jimin murmurs, looking around warily, "Where is she?"

"What's it to you?" Yoongi snaps, ignoring Jungkook's reproachful eyes.

Jimin looks in Yoongi's direction, stumbling forward.

"Jimin," Seokjin mumbles, trying to take him back to the lounge room, but he gently pulls away, glaring down at Yoongi.

"Is she okay?"

"She's fine, Jimin" Seokjin murmurs from behind him, "She's just shaken up,"

"No thanks to you," Yoongi spits, glaring up at him.

Yoongi watches as Jimin surprisingly seems to consider Yoongi's words.

"I guess you're right," He murmurs. Suddenly, he falls to his knees. Yoongi catches him before he can hurt himself. HHHHHbvcisdkbvrcfujdksbnvrcdju

Jimin clings to Yoongi, pulling himself up so he is resting his head on Yoongi's shoulder.

"What are we doing?" Jimin mumbles, "How long have we known each other?"

Yoongi relaxes but continues frowning, unsure whether Jimin is actually understanding or just pretending.

"A long time, Jimin," Yoongi sighs, "Why are you such a jealous guy?"

Taehyung scoffs as the other members watch on, smiling to themselves.

"I've never loved someone like I love her," Jimin sniffles, wiping access blood from his lip as he leans back so he is kneeling in front of Yoongi, "But you're right, you're all right. I've been a crazy jerk," He smirks.

"You think?" Yoongi murmurs, clutching his lower abdomen.

"But, if I do this, you have to promise me something," Jimin says firmly, holding Yoongi's eyes, "You have to promise to look after her,"

"Jimin..." Yoongi sighs, but Jimin cuts in.

"I'm serious," Jimin frowns, glaring up at him, "Promise me,"

"Of course, I will, but not because you told me to," Yoongi smirks as Jimin moves forward, hugging Yoongi around his tender midsection. He cringes but lets him hug him anyway.

He grins, ruffling Jimin's hair.

"Go lay down you idiot," Yoongi smirks, helping him stand up.

"Yah, I wouldn't be like this if you hadn't hit me," Jimin grins slightly, allowing Yoongi to help him into the lounge room and onto the sofa. Seokjin and Hoseok help him.

Yoongi is so happy to have his friend back, he doesn't even care that Jimin is still speaking disrespectfully towards him.

"If it was so easy..." Taehyung mutters, grumbling.

"I know right..." Jungkook chimes in, folding his arms. The others ignore them. Yoongi doesn't agree nor disagree with them.

He watches Namjoon and Seokjin pamper Jimin, applying ice, antiseptic cream and band-aids.

Yoongi allows Jungkook and Hoseok to bring him back to the room he was in, but as they re-enter the dining room, Yoongi spots Lilly standing near the kitchen bench.

Yoongi pulls away from them, rushing over to hug her. She stops him, tears falling down her cheeks.

"Jimin..." Yoongi begins, but Lilly shakes her head.

"I heard," She grins, kissing him lightly on the lips.

Yoongi wants to kiss her again, lose himself in the euphoria of her and the lack of extra stress from Jimin.

"Hyung," Taehyung whines, disgusted, "Can't you wait?"

Yoongi laughs loudly, causing the other members to laugh with him.

He looks down at her, watching her adorable eyes grin up at him.

He's the happiest man in the world right now.
