Chapter 2

I was at a sleepover with a few of my friends. Dawn, Lydia, Selena, and myself.

Oh, I didn't introduce myself, did I? My name is Roxy. I am 15 years old (I'm 15 in mage years, and each Mage year is 10 human years.) and I'm a Mage, but nobody except other Mages know it. We Mages are not human. Most of us can take on the form of a mythical creature that relates to our powers, humans, or a normal-looking animal that you would find on earth.

My hair is not a natural human color. Right now it appears to be a medium brown color, but in reality I have blue hair. Mages naturally have green, purple, blue and other colored hair. There are different shades of the colors and different styles. This determines the amount of power a Mage has. For example, a soft, light blue ombre means the Mage isn't very powerful. A dark, royal blue ombre with aqua tips is rare, and posses a somewhat dangerous amount of power, but no where near as dangerous or rare as full royal blue fading into lighter shades of blue the further it gets down. That last example is a Mage who can do almost anything, even possibly have more than one Mage power, and they usually take the form of a Unicorn.

The Unicorn is the most sacred animal in the Mage universe. They are the symbol of magic itself, and very rare to find. Most unicorns are actually Mages in disguise.

But anyway, back to the point. I am currently at a sleepover with my friends at Dawn's house. We had just finished the movie when my phone started ringing. This phone was special, because I could communicate with holograms and with different universes. I had it on the Earth setting now, because humans aren't used to holograms. I walked into the other room and answered.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Roxy? Yes, well you need to come home by the end of the week. Your hair is going to change back and your powers will peak. The humans can't find out!" My older brother, Jack, told me.

"It's fine, and besides, I keep my hair hidden in a hat all the time anyway. I have everything under control. Now, if you'll excuse me I have a sleepover to get back to."

"A sleepover? You're sleeping at someone else's house?! Who is it? It had better not be a boy!" Jack warned.

I giggled.

"No, I'm at Dawn's house. You are such an overprotective brother! I'll talk to you later! Bye!" I hung up.

I walked back into the room and Lydia piped up.

"Who were you talking to?" She asked.

"Just my brother, Earl. It was nothing. So, what are we doing next?"

Confused yet? My brother's real name is Jackson (but we call him Jack for short). On earth, Mages can't use their real names. It can affect our powers and literally wear our names out. If a human speaks our real names too many times, we loose meaning and power. My real name isn't Roxy, or even Roxanne. I'll share my real name later. All you need to know right now, is one thing;

A Sacrifice is needed in the Mage universe, and it has to be a Water Mage this time. Also, I need to sneak a human friend into the Mage Universe to stop a war.

Mission, near-impossible is now in progress.

I scrolled through my contacts list to find the names of all my friends.

Dawn-15 years old
Selena-14 years old
Lydia-14 years old
James-16 years old
Gareth-15 years old
Kat-15 years old
Isaac-15 years old

One of these friends could possibly end up being the sacrifice, but I'm trying not to focus on that right now. All I need is to figure out who to pick.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hai! So I want you to vote on who Roxy should bring with her! I'll post the next chapter when I get 8 votes in total (or more). Thanks to Ashtons_bandana1 for helping me come up with the idea of the sleepover in this chapter! This chapter is dedicated to her! Read on, Dragon Riders!
