Bored and waiting for Oobleck's class to start Yang notices something rather odd. Someone was missing from the team. That and Ruby is looking a bit worried.

Yang: Pssst. Ruby.

Ruby: Yeah?

Yang: Where's your cuddle buddy?

Ruby: Yang. Can you please not.

Yang: I'm not hearing a no so where is Y/N?

Ruby: Uhhh...

Flashback to yesterday's events

Training on how to use a scythe you ended up stabbing yourself. Turning around and seeing you dropped to the ground Ruby immediately went to panic mode.

Ruby: Y/N!

Y/N: (coughs) Fuck. I jinx myself. Ruby, get me my first aid.

Ruby: Don't you need help!? You need blood. What's your type? I think I'm suppose to put pressure on it.

Y/N: I don't think now is the time but okay. I  sweet, compassionate, and one that once they see my actions she'll stick by me. Though one that isn't afraid to question choices to put my head to the right place. I like to think I would stick to the end if they do it by me. You know because of you I want a more dorky, fun kind. Someone like you as I'm too much a realist.

Ruby: Uhhh I meant blood.

Y/N: You should of been specific. That and I am kinda reeling in from the shock. Ruby.

Ruby: Please don't tell me you're dying Y/N
as you're using my actual name. I can't loose you. You've been there for me since the start.

Y/N: I feel like this isn't as bad as it is. That or it may possibly be my adrenaline talking. I need you to grab a combat knife.

Ruby: Where?

Y/N: There's one strapped to my leg.

Ruby: Now what?

Y/N: Rip my shirt open and remove to armor plate. I want to see it.

Ruby: Uhhh are you sure?

Y/N: Positive.

Ruby hesitated momentarily before beginning to rip the shirt and removing the armor plate. She immediately looked away due to how this was the first time she saw you shirtless. Then there was the blood.

Ruby: I don't feel so good. I see blood.

Y/N: Well the armor plate doesn't have a big hole so I'd say the tip of the scythe got me.

Ruby: Phew. So you will be alright?

Y/N: Well yes but I'll hate getting stitches.

After using the first aid Ruby would then call for help. Two people came from the infirmary with one checking Y/N while the other talks.

Y/N: I told you I accidentally stabbed myself with the scythe.

Medic: We have to do this.

Medic 2: Well you aren't dying. You do need some stitches.

Y/N: I know.

Ruby: You're taking this surprisingly well.

Y/N: Frubes, I had worst. Did you not see the scar on me?

Medic: Wait... This doesn't look like a wound caused by a Grimm. Should I be concern?

Y/N: If you are implying that if it will cause a problem with patching me up then no.

Medic 2: Well we'll just have a look at your papers just to make sure if there is anything to worry about.

Y/N: (sighs) You're going to have to pass this by Ozpin.

Medic 2: The headmaster. Why would this concern him?

Y/N: Look I'm not telling you how to do your job but this isn't a request.

Medic 2: You aren't making this job easier.

Y/N: Ozpin and I relation is more than just a headmaster to student. Now as for your job I have actually done it.

Medic 2: Fine. I'll make the call. You get the stretcher.

Medic: Yeah.

You understood that you were doing yourself any favor by making their job any easier for them but it was not like would of found these suppose papers. There was none to begin with and if they checked they would not be able to do anything to you. Technically no guardian's meant that as they may be held liable.

Ruby: Did you really have to do that?

Y/N: Yes. You know the amount of problems that will arise if they find out. Questions will be done and possible reporting.

Ruby: So what did they meant that wasn't an injury caused by Grimm?

As soon as Ruby said that you knew you could not say but had to resort to a half truth. Most of all you wanted to change the subject.

Y/N: Let's say a person got the upper hand. Now as for the job part I actually had some training in the medical department.

Ruby: Really? How come you didn't told me?

Y/N: None of you ever asked. Anyways it was enough to get me a paramedic jacket and the pants. Probably should wear it some time.

Ruby: I'm sorry. If I didn't ask about coming here you wouldn't be hurt.

Y/N: Maybe but maybe not. There's always a possibility I could've gotten hurt worse. Then you're forgetting I made a promise.

Medic 2: (arrives) Well Ozpin said to fix you up. I don't know how you know him but it has to be important for him to go to that extent.

Putting you on the stretcher for transport the two medics began to move but you asked the two to stop for a moment.

Y/N: Can you please stop. I have to tell my friend something.

Medic: Alright. Just make it quick.

Ruby: What Y/N?

Y/N: Remember it isn't your fault Right. Just because you're team leader doesn't mean that everything is your problem or fault.

Ruby: Okay.

Y/N: Be careful with my backpack. It has my most prized possession and concerning all of this we will continue practice later.

Ruby: What!? Are you sure?

Y/N: One accident won't stop me. You'll be a great teacher and we'll look back at this and laugh. Medic.

Medic: Yes?

Y/N: How long will I be in the infirmary for?

Medic: Normally it would be a few hours but this circumstance makes it different. Roughly a day so call a friend to grab your homework.

Y/N: Thanks. Bye Rose.

Ruby: See you tomorrow.

Flashback ends

Ruby: And that's that. I still feel bad.

Yang: Y/N said not to worry about it.

Ruby: But I'm the team leader and things are already falling apart.

Yang: (pats her back) There, there.... So you saw Y/N shirtless? What type of build is he?

Ruby: Please don't.

Yang: As your sister it's my job.

Ruby: Can you stop before we get caught.

Weiss: Shhhhh. Class is about to start.

Yang: Well at least you know what Y/N likes in a person.

You'd be release later on in the afternoon. As the day turn into night you were putting on a hazmat suit unaware of the conversation of a certain team leader in doubt and Ruby trying to cheer them up. Going outside you end up scaring Jaune.

Jaune: Ahhh! Ghost!

Y/N: Sorry.

Jaune: Y/N, you scared me.

Y/N: I can see that Jaune. Was I interrupting something?

Ruby: Yup.

Y/N: I'm going to go now. Those chemicals for my chem launcher aren't gonna be made itself now will it?

Ruby: Why are you doing this now?

Y/N: Less chance for students to get hurt and it will be away from prying eyes. This will take a long time so good night.

Ruby: Night Y/N.

Y/N: And Jaune you are in good hands now.
If Ruby can't help you then none of us will. I take my leave now (leaves).

Jaune: Y/N scares me sometimes.

Ruby: Then you're lucky he's our friend. Now where was I?

Jaune: (hangs head down) About me being a failure since I was a kid.

Ruby: Right.

Ruby woke up early as today was no ordinary day. They were going to Forever Fall today as part of an assignment to collect samples.

Ruby: (looks around) Huh. This is a first.

Ruby notices you sleeping. She thought that it may have been because you were unaware of the assignment. Seeing you sound asleep she stared for a few moments as she really never sees you without your hunter hat.

Ruby: (thoughts) I wonder if I will look good in it. Y/N, won't mind if I wear it for a bit.

Grabbing your hunter hat Ruby went down to look at herself in the mirror. Putting it on she began to admire herself with it. She sighed in frustration as it was too big for her.

Yang: Watcha doing?

Ruby jumped in surprise as Yang said this the moment Ruby's eyes got covered.

Ruby: Ah! Yang?

Yang: You know it. Soooo?

Ruby: I uhhh making sure that it was.... not damage? Yeah that sounds right.

Yang: It looks to me that you have Y/N's hat. Did you steal it?! I can't believe my own sister would steal from our teammate.

Ruby: Yang! It's not that.

Yang: The hat says differently.

Ruby: I thought it looked nice.

Yang: Is it because of your crush? Ruby, you may be my sister but please do not be one of those really psychotic ones. Blake.

Blake: Zzzz.

Yang: Ugh. (throws pillow) Blake.

Blake: Wha-What?

Yang: Who are those girls who are obsessive to the point of going way too far for a guy. Uh like Nora if you stole her pancakes.

Blake: A yandere. Now if you excuse me I'm going to sleep.

Ruby: Yandere what?

Yang: Oh. Look I kinda accidentally read one of Blake's books. You know what let's just see what Y/N has to say on how you look. Now a pillow please.

Ruby: (hands pillow) Alright.

Yang: (throws pillow at you) Wake up.

The thing was that once the pillow hit you this cause your instincts to kick in as you thought you were being attacked. You quickly grabbed Red and pointed it at Yang.

Yang: (hands in the air) Woah.

Y/N: Yang? Don't do that. If it weren't for the fact that I know I'm in a safe location I would of pulled the trigger.

Yang: You sleep with a gun?

Y/N: Relax. I just now took off safety.

Yang: (whispers to Ruby) Soulmate material for you.

Ruby: (hangs head down)

Y/N: (not noticing Ruby with your hat) Man, for a moment there I thought the Vale police were here.

Yang: Why would they be after you?

Y/N: Uhhh it's better if you don't know.

Yang: Weird. Anyways Does Ruby look good in your hat?

Ruby: Hi Y/N.

Y/N: (climbs down from bed) Why does Red Reaper have my hat?

Ruby: Oh you knew. I thought it looked nice so I thought what the heck.

Grabbing back your hat you adjust it before placing it back on Ruby's head much to her and Yang's surprise.

Y/N: I think you look great with it. Though can't it covering your beautiful eyes.

Ruby mentally panics inside her mind as this turned out better than expected. Though this was not the only reaction.

Yang: (thoughts) Did Y/N just flirted?

Y/N: (thoughts) I think I just flirted. Okay, I guess I go with it.

Ruby: What of the how? Wait... what?

Not thinking before talking you accidentally went further into it.

Y/N: Your eyes. They are unique like you.

Yang: I wonder if this is one of those cliche things in Blake's book.

Ruby: (screams happily in mind)

Yang: She'll do it.

Awhile later you and Ruby would be walking to the bullhead. You with her cloak and Ruby with your hunter hat.

Ruby: Hey Y/N?

Y/N: Hmmm?

Ruby: Remember yesterday? Can I ask what the thing in your backpack is?

Y/N: Uhhh...

Ruby: You don't have to.

Y/N: (pulls out smartwatch) This.

Ruby: But you have one.

Y/N: I never said who the smartwatch belong to. Remember that reason why I said I had to send my stuff early to Beacon?

Ruby: Yeah. Ozpin sent us a call to find you.

Y/N: Well I won't go into details yet but my dad is gone.

Ruby: In like he left?

Y/N: Dead but don't worry.

Ruby grabbed in your hand in her attempt to soothe you and stop you as this was serious.

Ruby: Do you need a shoulder to cry on?

Y/N: No. He's gone and there's nothing to be done about it. The only thing he said was that I'll find a use for it one day. I'll let you look at it until we get to the bullhead. I trust that you won't do anything with it.

Ruby: Y/N.

Y/N: Don't worry Ruby. He never did wanted to grow old. My dad said he lived his life so he was prepared any minute for it.

Ruby: But were you?

Y/N: I uhhh umm. I'm going to save us a spot.

You left. Ruby looks at the smartwatch before looking at your fleeting silhouette.

Yang: Watcha got there?

Ruby: A smartwatch.

Yang: Cool. (sees Ruby's sadden face) What happened?

Ruby: Do you feel that Y/N bottles up his emotions?

Yang: In like an unhealthy way?

Ruby: Yeah.

Yang: I mean he does hide things.

Ruby: No. You know even though he told us those stories it sounds like he loved his dad.

Yang: Okay?

Ruby: But he never grieved his death.

Yang: We all do it own ways. Sometimes it takes longer for others. She says Right...

Ruby: Right...

Yang: Don't do that thing where you say that but are still hurt. Y/N will say it all when the time comes. You'll be there when it happens. Look here he comes. I'll just go (leaves).

Ruby: Y/N.

Y/N: Look I don't feel anything for it. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with me but when it happens I'll go to you.

Ruby: Really?

Y/N: Yes. Now let's go see our friends.

Arriving to the bullhead it took a bit before a person notices.

Jaune: Y/N, you look different.

Nora: Ruby, where's your cape?! Wait... Y/N, where's your hat!?

Pyrrha: They switched Nora. Now why?

Weiss: Apparently they're switching for the day.

Y/N: Sadly, the hood of the cloak is too short. I mean the cloak is too but it will work.

Ruby: How do I look guys?

Yang: It's odd seeing you without a cloak.

Ren: I concur.

Ruby: Everybody is a critic.

Y/N: Me?

Ruby: Not you?

Y/N: How do I look?

Nora: Eight out of ten.

Pyrrha: I think it looks good.

As you all made it to Forever Fall and hearing Glynda's instructions you got your sample jar. After that you rested on a tree until suddenly woken up by the sound of fighting.

Y/N: Well let's see what's all the commotion about?

Pulling out Epilogue you see Jaune fighting an Ursa Major while Cardin is on the ground. You heard some talking from down below as the fight ended.

Y/N: He finally grew a pair and defended himself. Well good for Jaune.

Ruby: Y/N?

Weiss: What?

Pyrrha: Were you always there?

Y/N: Yup. Wanna switch back?

Ruby: (switches) Sure.

Y/N: It made for a good blanket.

Ruby: I know right.

Y/N: So how did Jaune suddenly put up his shield? I saw his moment and by the looks of it the shield rises up was unnatural. That and he looked like he was never going to.

Weiss: Here we go again.

Ruby: Poles.

Weiss: Polarity.

Pyrrha: Can you please not tell Jaune about this?

Y/N: Sometimes a person needs a confidence booster. Let Jaune have this under his belt so I will not tell.

Pyrrha: Thank you. Now I'm going to go to my teammates.

Weiss: That's well and all but we don't have our jars due to Nora. Can you help us?

Y/N: Why not. This would be a good time to test something out. A more better version.

Weiss: What?

Y/N: Blast cover.

Ruby: Why is it called blast cover.

Y/N: Just don't stand in front of it.

Y/N: You wouldn't expect it.

Ruby: Have you ever thought about making your turret into a grenade launcher version.

Weiss: Here we go.

Weiss: Do not test that in the room or else I will never forgive you two.

Ruby: So it'll either need a magazine or the ammunition belt.

Weiss: (to herself) Great. Now I will have to hear all this talk about it. Very well.
