Chapter Twenty Six: Deadpan Downfalls

Hey guys! :)

I've just realised how I've published nearly 30 chapters :O

For those of you who have read up until this point of the book, thank you, thank you, thank you so so much for being patient with this book!

It's been nearly 3 months since I started this book!! :D

I know it seems like it is really long, but I promise that I am getting towards the end of this book where (hopefully) all your questions - including who the Hipster Tipster is - are answered.

Thank you, once more because this book is nearly hitting 1000 votes. That is incredible!! I am forever grateful!

Have a lovely evening and  enjoy the rest of the week ♥

“SO YOU DID it?” Bailey asked, looking at her twin sister.

“I had to do it,” Dawn laid her head down on her pillow, staring up at the ceiling.

“I told you that he was no good,”

“You say that about every other boy,”

“Because it's true. Boys come into your lives, break down all the walls that you never knew you had and find a way into your heart, if not your conscience,”

“And then what happens? After getting too comfortable around you, they set their eyes on someone and they are off, with your heart shoved into their pocket,”

“Right. It's human for them to do so. Humans are never satisfied with what they have, so they always want more. Our unlimited wants are going to be our ultimate downfall one day,”

“I agree. However, our unlimited wants don't necessarily lead to our demise. Jace left the last girl he was chasing for to meet me,”

“And look how that turned out, "

“You're missing the point. This is ludicrous, but suppose that he was the one for me. After meeting all these girls, he meets me and we get married, living happily ever after. His unlimited would have brought him to me, the ideal girl for him, and we would be together for a very long, "

Bailey took a moment to consider this. “So you are saying that people who marry each other got to be with each other through unlimited wants?”

“Precisely. Not everyone marries their first girlfriend, but that's for a reason. Their first girlfriend might not be their match but their second one might be. You have to go through all types of people before you meet your other half, I guess,”

“I see your point. I still think that our unlimited wants will work against us. The heart is such a fragile thing and it is often led on too easily. Look at yours. You liked Jace - I bet you still do - but he went after Madison and now your heart is in shatters,”

“While this may apply to another person, it does not apply to me. I do like Jace, I agree, but my heart isn't in pieces. That's just an exaggeration that actors like you use,”

“You say it like it's a bad thing. Drama is the only thing I enjoy in our school,”

“How is your club, by the way? How's the play coming on? ”

“Good, I guess. There are just a few things to fix and it'll be perfect. Like kicking out Betty out of the play, "

“The poor girl. Is she really that horrible?”

“She can't act to save her life! I swear, I've seen trees that do a better job than her,

Dawn sat up to look at her. “For a director, you sure are pretty harsh,”

“I intend to make these actors valuable, so that's why I put them through a lot of pressure. Besides, I'm not that mean. You should've seen our director from our old school. Absolutely impossible to work with,”

She gave Bailey a deadpan look. “You don't say,”

Bailey rolled her eyes. “Har, har. Why didn't you join the drama club this year?”

“I had my heart set out on debating this year. So I joined the debate team, instead,”

               “How is it?”

“Not bad. Our team is really good,”

Bailey was silent for about a minute before asking the next question, “And how are you?”

“Me?” Dawn sat cross-legged. “Why I'm just peachy,”

“You only use ‘peachy’ when you are angry,” Bailey mimicked her twin's position. “You don't deserve this,”

                “It doesn't matter,”

“Yes, it does. Madison cannot win for the second time. The most important people in your life aside from me, was our father and Jace, yet somehow, she managed to win both their hearts,”

“I don't know how she does it,”

               “Do you think about her?”

              “Who?”

              “Our biological mother,”

“Of course! All the time. Especially after Madison tried to take her role,”

“I wish she didn't have to die,”

             “Me too,”

“It's Madison's fault for everything horrible that has happened to us! We are stuck in this orphanage because of her, yet we have no legitimate reason to be here!”

“She is perfectly capable of taking care of us! As far as we know, she's alive and breathing,”

“Roaming the streets with her Prada,” The blonde rolled her eyes to the ceiling. “And I swear she is the reason behind our father's death,”

“You think so, too? I mean, it was a little suspicious when he passed on. The man was healthy! He would try to have a balanced diet and would workout regularly,”

“But after knowing Madison for some time, he suddenly becomes sick. Really sick. And then he dies leaving us under her custody, ”

“Why do you think she killed father?”

“Isn't it obvious? Just like Isabella, Madison was never interested in having a relationship. Our father was wealthy, Dawn. She was after his money the whole time,”

“Didn't he give it to her in his will?”

“I don't know. I hope not. Otherwise she'd be spending father's hard earned money impetuously and all at one go,”

“Yet we sit here, not getting any of it,” Dawn mumbled, readjusting her right leg. Suddenly, her head snapped up to look at Bailey. “You know what? You're right. It is her fault!”

“We wouldn't be here if it weren't for her,”

“We would have a father if it weren't for her,”

“You and Jace would still be together,” Bailey added, her tone a little softer than before.

Her twin's eyes lowered to the wooden floor. “I want to do something about it. Bailey. She can't get away with this,”

“I believe we can help you out with that, ” A third voice made the two blondes turn to the partially ajar door, where four girls stood there with different levels of amusement written on their faces.
