Chapter 6

Once Olive was done talking, the same Principles that took me into the Pre-Solitudo led me to an elevator. The elevator only had one option, and that was down. I was shaking because of how nervous I was at this point and it was only getting worse as time progressed. It felt like we were in that elevator for an hour but in reality it was about a minute.  The elevator opened at last and we walked down this huge, long, empty hallway that had framed pictures of our world, Silva. This hallway led to a huge wide open area that looked exactly like our forests. It looked pretty realistic, but I could tell that there were cameras built into trees. This is all I have to do? This can't be hard at all, I thought to myself.

"This is were we leave you now. We wish you the best of luck," said one of the Principals. "Oh yea, and, try not to get killed. Good luck!" This changed my thinking of this Solitudo very quicky. But I also thought, this place looks harmless. What could possibly be dangerous enough to kill me?

Then the Principles walked toward the door, closed the door, and silence fell upon me. This place looks exactly like my world: there are beautiful fall trees, leaves on the ground, and many different paths I could walk through. Since Perry and I climb trees so often, its hard for me to stay on flat ground because I get uncomfortable when I can't see everything around me. With this being said I try to find a good tree for me to climb. There are three different paths I could take: one on the right, one on the left, and one in the middle. I just go through the one in the middle because I'm not really sure what the outcome will be for any of the paths. Once I find a good tree, I will take a nap because I'm not sure what I should do for a full twelve hours. Plus, it doesn't look like anything could harm me yet and I'm not very hungry yet so I shouldn't start looking for food quite yet. I found the perfect tree to take a rest on so I climb up the tree, look around for a minute, and then start to worry, I wonder how Rose is doing. I hope Perry is taking good care of her. I hope Perry is safe too. What if he tells Rose about our kiss. I hope she's okay with it. She seems to think he's a good person. Ugh, I should have told her before it happened that I liked him. Why am I so stupid. After minuets and minutes of this kind of thinking, I finally drift off to sleep.

I feel like I slept for about five minutes when I wake up from a rock being thrown at me. No one's allowed to be in here with me, who could have thrown that? I start to look around, but I see absolutely no one here. It must have been the Principles. They probably don't want me sleeping especially because I'm supposed to be doing things that determine my future. Well, I'm awake now and if I'm just going to have rocks thrown at me if I try to sleep, there's no point of sleeping.

So I climb down the tree and get some twigs and sticks to make a fire to cook food and just for warmth because I am freezing. Once I find a decent amount of sticks, I put them next to the tree I slept on and go look for some mice or other animals to catch. I am really fast so I can catch mice with my bear hands. I've had to do it before anyways because I don't just like feeding Rose soup. I always try to give her some meat at least once a week.

Once I've been walking for quite a bit I start to get a little dizzy so I sit on a rock for a second, but once I sat down, I saw something very strange. Something as strange as the fire I saw in The Plaza this morning, except instead of fire, there was nothing. There were no trees, no rocks, no leaves, no grass, and no walls. The only thing there was dirt on the ground. It was like I just got dropped in the middle of no where, with no one at all to be seen. This was very strange for me because I've only lived with trees surrounding me, so having no trees is a new sight. After a few seconds of looking around, I start to get scared and nervous, so I start hyperventilating. Then after a few seconds, a blue-jay flies right in front of my face, sits on the dirt, and everything is suddenly back to normal. There are trees, leaves, rocks, and even grass surrounding me again. I cannot believe I had a weird vision twice in one day. This is starting to freak me out. Did somebody curse me? Is this happening because it is the day of my Solitudo, or is it just a coincidence? All of these thoughts have taken over my mind and are making my head hurt, so the best thing I should do right now is lay down right where I am and try to get some rest. Within about a minute I fall asleep on the nice, comfortable grass and try not to think of all the bad things happening in my life.
