"You okay?"
"Yeah... I guess. You heard me and your brother?"
"Yeah."

Aunt Chelsy was helping Uncle Dani, although her type of healing hurt way more than Uncle Dani's, blood branch and all. Vapor was helping too, his second magic was also healing, but he wasn't that great. He just tried as best he could

"I don't know what's with him lately. He's been so different. So cold. I don't like this side of him."
"I think both of us have changed a bit."
"A bit? You've switched personalities!"

She looks down.

"Sorry."
"It's okay. You're right."
"I guess."

We both stay in awkward silence for a bit before she speaks up again.

"What happened?"
"I don't know. I just... didn't feel mad anymore. At my mom, the world. I just wanted to enjoy things."
"That sounds like your brother."
"And he started... getting distant."
"That's... that's not your brother."
"Yeah, I know."

We both sigh.

"Balance."
"What?"
"We're supposed to represent balance. After my mom became a goddess, it's our turn."
"So... is this what this is? Balancing it out?"
"Maybe. I don't know."
"So just go back to your old self! Then he'll be normal again, not so resentful and angry!"
"Wow, thanks."
"You know what I mean!"

She leans back on her chair, and covers her face with her hands.

"Is this really what balance is supposed to be?"
"I guess. I'm new to this myself."
"I guess we all are."

She takes a deep breath.

"I'm going to talk to him."
"Want me to come with you?"
"No, I think I have to do this myself."
"Alright, good luck."

She nods and leaves the house.

~~{Solar}~~

I walked back to my house, but I didn't really feel like going inside. I just loitered around the porch, walking back and forth.

"Hey."

I look over and see Sam.

"Oh, hey."
"I'm... sorry."

She obviously didn't feel like she should be the one saying sorry, but she just wanted to take the first step.

"I'm sorry too. I just... it all got out of hand."
"Yeah, I could guess."

She walks over to me.

"What is happening with you guys?"
"Uh-"
"You changed."
"Maybe I like this change."
"I don't! No one does. Look around. Look at the damage you caused!"
"Sunrise could've easily done the same. Stop pretending like I'm the only one in the wrong here."

She narrows her eyes and looks down.

"But Sunrise didn't. You did. Now stop deflecting. I don't like this. Maybe that's selfish. I don't know, but I know you did this. My brother is hurt because of you."
"It was a mistake."
"People make mistakes. I make mistakes. But this is too far."
"Shut up! Just shut up!"
"Solar-"
"I made a mistake! Can't you just accept that?"

She glares at me and punches a pillar that got badly injured by the wind. It immediately crashes into pieces.

"Yeah. A mistake."

She walks away from me.
Again.

"Get yourself together, then come find me."
"I guess I'm not going to find you then."

~~{Sunrise}~~

I was talking with Vapor when my hand started hurting.

"What's wrong?"
"I don't..."

My hand starts pulling me out of the house, dragging me across to Solar, who also seemed to be dragged by his hand.

"What's going on?"
"I don't know!"

Our hands slam into each other and a blast emerges, knocking us both backwards. I look over at my hand, and my mark had changed, along with my hair.

It was white now.

"Solar..."
"We switched marks."

He stands up.

"Matches our personalities."
"Solar, wait-"

"Guess this is what balance wanted."
"No, you can't really think that... right?"
"This is our destiny."
"You've never believed in destiny before, why now?"

He holds up his hand.

"Because this happened."
"Solar!"

He pulls out a stone. His second magic was enchantment.

"Take me far away from here."
"Please... don't go. Don't leave me."
"I'm just doing what Mom did."

I get up and race over, but it was too late. He vanished in a puff of smoke.

"SOLAR!"

I drop to my knees, tears threatening to spill.

"Hey, what happened?"

My dad comes rushing outside.

"Where's your brother?"
"H-he's... gone."
"Gone?"
"He disappeared."

I think it took him a second to register my hair.

"No..."
"This family is cursed to be broken, isn't it?"
