Chapter 3
When it came time to decide who was getting what room Hannah and Elliot started arguing about who was going to get the master bedroom, which of course was the biggest bedroom. After ten minutes of listening to them bicker, I suggested that neither of them take the master bedroom and each take one of the other bedrooms, which are all the same size.
"That's a good idea." Elliot said with astonishment in his eyes. Really? Again?
"Thanks, so who is going to help who unpack?" I asked mentally telling Elle to pick even though I knew she wasn't going to know because she is distracted by something and I can't quite figure out what it is. What is she looking at? There isn't anything here to be distracted by, other than our two hopefully new friends. I wonder....
"You can help me unpack!" Hannah said half screaming in eagerness as she grabbed my wrist. Is it just me or does it seem like she is up to something? I thought while putting my free hand over my ear from Hannah's ear-piercing half-scream.
"Okay, well I guess I will help Elliot. Belle, make sure to keep track of time I don't have my phone." Elle said giving more of a command then a warning on time. By the hint of aggravation in her tone I could tell she didn't want to help Elliot and that I could torture her with this.
Apparently there is firsts for everything; Elle doesn't have her phone and doesn't want to be around someone. Hannah was leading me to her room and I was so distracted in my thoughts that when she turned into her room I only turned halfway and slammed into the doorframe creating a loud thud. With an instant searing pain in my nose my hand flew to my nose to check for any blood. With a clean hand I thought, How is it that no matter what I do, my nose never bleeds? Wait, how did Hannah not hear that?
I was drawn from my thoughts with Hannah saying, "What happened? I realized you weren't behind me then I heard a thud. I started walking to where it came from and saw you in here with your hand on your nose."
"I guess I wasn't paying attention and walked into the doorframe. I'm fine though, I might have a bruised nose but that's it."
"Are you sure that you are okay? I can go get you some ice if you need it."
"I'm sure but thanks anyways. Still need help unpacking?"
With a look of worry etched on her face, I could tell she didn't want to let this go but still she said "Yes please."
