Chapter 15

Waking up this morning was a lot more fun. As I opened my eyes slowly I felt a smile reach my lips, the lips that Nathan kissed. Flinging the covers off me I went to the bathroom and had a quick shower washing my hair in the process. Once dried I settled on dark denim shorts and a long sleeved black crop top. Whilst shoving my white converse on my phone begun to ring. Leaning over my bed I grabbed my phone, not bothering to look at the caller id I answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey Gretch."

"Nathan." I breathed as a gentle smile appeared on my face.

"Look, I know this is bad but..."

"Go on..." I urged.

"I wanted to know if you wanna skip school today?" Nathan asked down the phone.

"You mean bunk?" I grinned.

"Yeah." He answered softly.

"Sure! But you know we can't stay here right? Bellamy's here," I lowered my voice a little worried that my brother would hear.

"I know, I was thinking my house? Kendall and Mason have got school and my parents are on a business trip and don't get back till tomorrow evening."

"Sure," I gushed down the phone. A whole day with Nathan...alone.

"I'll pick you up at 8."

"See you then." I smiled hanging up. So I was bunking school with Nathan, to spend the whole day alone with him in his house. That sounded so much more fun then school. Trying to ignore the growing butterfly feeling I tackled my hair deciding to straighten it out lightly. Once done I applied a little mascara and lip balm then trotted down the stairs.

"Someone looks happy," Bellamy grinned at me from the breakfast bar he sat at.

"When you have an amazing big brother like I have you tend to be happy," I chirped as I grabbed a breakfast bar out of the cupboard.

"Are you ill Gretch?" Bellamy asked looking at me suspiciously.

"No," I laughed "I had a good night sleep...that's all," I smiled as I joined him on a stool next to him.

"I need to remind you..." Bellamy begun.

"About mum and dad coming down, yes I know Bellamy I remembered." I nodded, I really wasn't looking forward to Sunday. Their flight arrives at 10pm on Saturday so they thought it would be best to check into a hotel for one night and come round Sunday.

"I just needed to check." Bellamy nodded. "Plus their staying Sunday evening."

"Okay now that's a little detail you left out." My voice dripped with sarcasm.

"Sorry it just slipped my mind!" He held his arms up defensively. "Thier flight is at 12.15pm Monday, so they're staying Sunday night."

"Great." I rolled my eyes biting into my cereal bar.

"Look, it will be fine okay? I'm here." Bellamy wrapped an arm round my shoulders.

"I guess." I shrugged.

"You have someone picking you up or do you want me to take you today?" Bellamy asked, changing the subject quickly.

"I have someone picking me up, thanks," I smiled with mischief in my eyes.

"Okay then," Bellamy smiled. Just as I'd finished eating my phone vibrated, it was Nathan letting me know he was outside. He's fifteen minutes early.

"Well I better be going," I smiled slipping of the stool. I put my rubbish in the bin and grabbed my school bag. "See you later," I kissed my brother on the cheek lightly.

"Bye Gretch," he smiled warmly at me. Turning to the door I left quietly, I quickened my pace till Nathan's car was only metres away.

"Hey," he smiled pushing himself off the hood of his car.

"Your an eager beaver." I smirked at him as I slowed down to stop in front of him.

"I thought it would score extra brownie points," he smirked, it sent shivers down my spine, in a good way of course.

"We'll see," I smiled as Nathan led me to the passenger side of the car and opened the door for me.

*********

Nathan sped a little back to his house and we made it in record time.

"I still can't believe the sight of your house, however many times I see it," I smiled as I jumped out of his car.

"Really? I never really notice..." He shuts the door after me.

"You've got to be kidding me?" I stare up at him.

"What?" He chuckles as he leads me to the front door as he fumbles around with his keys.

"You don't notice the size of your house. That's bull shit." I glare up at him playfully.

"Trust me, I don't." He smiled down at me. He opened the two doors for me and we stepped in.

"You can leave your bag and shoes here if you want." Nathan said as he hung his leather jacket on the hook. Placing my phone in my back pocket, I left my bag on the floor and slipped off my converse so my turquoise blue socks were on show. Nathan did the same and led me to the kitchen.

"Do you want something to eat?" He asked.

"No thanks I ate before I came out," I smiled at him from across the room.

"So. What do you want to do?" Nathan asked holding his hands out as if to gesture to anything.

"I think the question is what can we do?" I smiled at him.

"Well, we have the gym, lounge, library and of course my room." He smirked.

"The library sounds interesting." I smiled as I saw the smirk disappear from his face.

"Sure," he chuckles deeply taking my hand we race up two flights of stairs until we reach a double door. He opens them slowly and I'm taken aback from what I see. All the furniture is old oak, there were cabinets after cabinets holding so many books, all different colours, shapes and sizes.

"Wow..." I breathed as I stepped in.

"It's books passed down from our ancestors." Nathan smiled watching me with amusement lingering in his eyes.

"So like your great great great grandfather?" I asked walking to a cabinet and skimming my fingers across the spines of the old books.

"Yep." Nathan nodded putting his hands in his jean pockets.

"Wow. We don't have anything like this...heck I hardly ever see my parents." I smiled sadly. "Have you read any of these books?"

"Only one. I'm not really a reading guy." He laughed.

"I figured." I glanced at him smiling. "Your going to have to take me away from this room before I start exploring...and when I start there's no stopping me." I smirked a little.

"Come on," he chuckled taking my hand and pulling me out of the room gently. We went back down stairs and into the lounge. Again this was a room I'd never been in yet, it was beautiful everything was either red, white or black in here and it was all colour co-ordinated. A plasma tv covered the main wall and below it was a small fireplace with incense sticks burning softly. The black couch was snuggly curved into a U shape and modern ornaments and photo frames were dotted around the room. Being the nosey person I am I head straight for the photos.

"Trust you." Nathan sighed in defeat. "You know I was kind of hoping you wouldn't look at them,"

"Too bad," I smiled. Picking up a photo I liked, I smiled. It was a picture of the three brothers Mason, Kendall and Nathan about the age of 10, it looks like the picture was taken naturally like it wasn't staged. They each had an arm slung over one another and they were laughing.

"This is nice," I smiled showing Nathan.

"It was taken when were on holiday in Spain. It was our first holiday."

"You all look so young and happy."

"You know the reason why we were all laughing was because Kendall caught sight of this girl the same age as us, we caught him looking and started to tease him but he came out and said, gross girls smell and I guess it just got us in fits of laughter." Nathan explained, smiling a little at the old memory.

"That's so ironic." I laughed.

"I know, Mason and I still tease him about it to this day," he chuckled as he walked round to the sofa and sat in the middle. I slowly followed and sat next to him, I leaned against his body and rested my head on his shoulder.

"So your parents are always away for work?" Nathan asked wrapping and arm round my body to keep me in place.

"Like 99.9% of the time."

"When was the last time you saw them?" He asked softly. I hesitated but I suppose I should just let him know.

"Eight months ago." I answered with a small lump in my throat.

"Gretch..." Nathan pulled me a little closer.

"It's fine. They send money and call home when they can." I added "I spoke to Mum about a month ago."

"I didn't know you were that separated from your parents." Nathan whispered.

"There coming to see me and and my brother Sunday." I breathed.

"Sunday?"

"Yeah."

"Are you ok about that?" He asked softly. I'm sure Nathan picked up that this was a touchy subject for me, that's why he was being so calm.

"Yes and No. No because it's been so long, the longest I've ever gone without seeing them. Then yes because at the end of the day they are my parents."

"I see."

"It just annoys me because they come back and dictate things to me like they've been there all along when they haven't." I let out a frustrated sigh as I placed my phone on the coffee table.

"It must be hard for your brother as well." Nathan nodded understanding.

"He get's criticised too." I said. "It's unfair."

"I can imagine. Look, I can pop round Sunday, check if your ok?" He suggested taking my hand and entwining his fingers with my own.

"I'll bear that in mind," I smiled up at him. "Can we do something fun?" I asked now smirking, my confidence returning after some heavy emotional unloading.

"Sure, you know we have an outside pool right?" He smirked.

"You what!" I jumped up of the sofa to stare down at him. "Nathan Blake you did not tell me you had a pool."

"Must of slipped my mind," he hummed playfully standing up. My excitement levels were like bursting through the roof right now. "Want to see?"

"Yes please," I nodded eagerly. Grabbing my hand he took me out of the lounge, through the kitchen to the conservatory and out the back door. Staring ahead of me was a huge blue pool, just calling my name.

"It's so clean!" I exclaimed walking round the edge inspecting it.

"We have a pool cleaner come regularly." Nathan answered.

"Of course you do." I shot him a small smile. Dipping my hand in the water it was slightly warm from the poring sun above. The garden was huge and immaculate like something you'd see in a movie. The sun glistened off the pool, standing back up I turned to Nathan who was now topless and was beginning to un-buckle his belt.

"Umm?" I couldn't advert my eyes from his torso. I watched him slip his trousers off so he now only stood in his black Calvin Klein's.

"Enjoying the view?" He shot me a smirk before jumping into the pool creating a huge splash.

Trying to shield myself from the water I began to laugh.

"Your nuts!" I giggle as he surfaced running a hand through his wet hair.

"Care to join me?" He smirked swimming to the centre of the pool.

"Are you being serious?" I ask.

"I've never been more serious in my life Gretchen." He smiled. Smiling I slipped off my socks and begun to undo the button of my shorts whilst frantically trying to remember what underwear and bra I'd put on this morning. Pulling down my shorts a little I caught sight of my red lace underwear, letting out a sigh of relief I smiled and slid my shorts off. Thank God I'd chosen to wear my red lace underwear and bra today. Mentally high fiving myself for good undergarments and for shaving this morning I reached for the hem of my crop top and pulled it over my head fully aware of Nathan's gaze upon my skin. Dropping my top to the floor I stood before Nathan in my bra and underwear blushing a little I smiled as my gaze caught his after he'd looked.

"Make room for me." I smirked as I leapt into the pool. The warm water came rushing around me and I felt totally refreshed. I came up to the surface and took a gasp of air, pushing my wet hair out of my face.

"Your perfect." Nathan spoke as he swam towards me.

"Enjoying the view?" I mocked his words from earlier as he slipped his arms around my waist.

"Very much so." He breathed as he connected his lips to my own. Snaking my arms around Nathan's neck I kissed him back with just as much passion he was giving me. Surprising me he grabbed my thighs indicating me to wrap them round his hips which I did with no problem. Nathan pulled back a little for air, we were both breathing heavy and needed a minute.

"You know you haven't made it official," I smirked.

"Do you want it to be official?" Nathan leaned his forehead against my own.

"Yes." I whispered without hesitation. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

"Gretchen Rousso, will you be my girlfriend?"

"I will." I smiled and crashed my lips onto his.
