Chapter Two

"Well that's not very nice."

My eyes instantly snapped open, head whipping around. There, a few lockers down stood a guy with dark chocolate locks with matching big brown eyes. His bottom lip had a silver hoop going through that even I had to admit was hot. He looked at least six foot two with a build that would have any girl swooning. A plain T-shirt was stretched over his broad shoulders that showed his obvious muscles, just slightly outlining the contours of them nicely. His hands where dug deep in his washed out blue jeans, his appearance was finished with a cocky smile that was currently playing on his lips.

"And you are?" I asked, not liking the confidence rolling off of him in waves that seemed to be daring me to put up a fight before devouring me whole.

"You can call me what ever you like shortcake, who might you be?" the words rolled off his tongue as he took three long unwanted strides towards me, leaving only a good one and a half locker distance between us. Shortcake? Who the heck does this guy think he is? Is this how people act to each other in high school? I just know once mom hears about this she'll be pulling me out of here faster then a race car being chased.

"What's it to you? Are you like the name police? Cause your not wearing a uniform." I crossed my arms and turned to my side, matching his stance with my own personal smirk.

"Haven't you heard babe? I'm to hot to wear some uniform, it'd burn to bits the moment it touched me." He said, the cocky and smugness still seeping through his tone.

"What do you have some weird type of skin cancer? Cause I bet they got some medication for that." My smile only grew as I watched his start to slip.

"What did you say your name was again?" He asked, more like accused.

"I didn't give it." I turned back to me locker, deciding this was a waste of time and that I already was putting my future at risk with being late on my first day. I looked now at the sheet of paper with my combination and tried it again, going from one number before spinning to the next. Nothing.

Ugh.

"You know your doing it wrong." The person I've come to recognize as the most annoying one ever voiced, sounding too close for my liking.

"Yeah well, how do you do it the right freaking way huh?" I asked, my patience wearing thin.

"I'll show you if, you tell me your name," He gambled. Looks like he's a sneaky little bastard and why the hell does he want to know my name so bad?

I chewed on my bottom lip in thought, weighing my options before finding myself giving a heavy sigh. "Fine. My names Alex, now show me how to open the damn metal box." I demanded with a pointed glare.

"Alex you say?" He inquired, sending me a strange look before that silly smirk stretched back on his face from one end to the other. Man he's infuriating. "I'm guessing that's short for something, Alexis perhaps?" There's that cocky smile again, doesn't he have any other face to flash around?

"Oh give the boy a prize, he's just such a genius," the words oozing with heavy sarcasm and a dramatic eye roll following close behind.

I think his face just melted off, nope, there it is again. "I'm just trying to be nice here Alexis, you sure do got an attitude." He implicated.

"Me?" I pointed to myself with mock surprise,"how about you? Huh? Don't you start directing fingers at others before you've shoved it in your direction first mister. " I could tell I was getting angry, having a need to let of some steam but I did my best to shake it off and push it down till it was smothered out.

"Hey no-" I cut him off with both a raised hand, shake of my head and curt interruption.

"Look, I honestly don't really care okay? A deals a deal, I told you my name so now you have to show me how to open the damn thing you crazy people put your stuff in."

He sent me a look, "You don't even want to know my name?" he asked the question with a weird puzzled expression with his eyebrows scrunched together.

"Um.. not really, no." I said. "So can you please, please just open the freaking thing?" I asked in desperation with a hand raking through my hair and brief close of my eyes.

"Fine, fine," he raised his hands in surrender before closing the short distance and pushing me aside not so politely. Rude much? He stood so close to the fudging wall with the little doors that I couldn't see what he was doing with is hands, all it took was a few seconds before it popped open with a clanking noise.

"Wait, wait. Do that again so I'll know what to do later," I insisted while keeping my eyes on the now open.. locker. But he didn't moved, only slid to his side so his shoulder was pressed to the two other lockers beside mine and giving me a look full of too much slickness for my liking.

"Nope," he said. What!?

"Why the double hockey sticks not!?" I threw my hands up in both confusion and outrage. This guy is such a pain in my behind with an attitude the size of mars. Mars is big right? Oh whatever, as long as its known he has an attitude. "Why can't you just show me how to do it? I'm going to have to ask someone to help me every dang time I have to go to my locker! I'm going to be nicknamed the, 'always asks for help with her locker' girl!" I shook my head and winced at the mere image. Ugh, that would suck times.. seventy six.

"Well I guess I'll have to help you out after every class, huh then?" He then turned around and began walking away, "See you after next period Alexis!" He shouted out from behind him with a half effort wave.

"WA-" This time I got cut off by the sound of a high pitched bell ringing. I scrunched my face in confusion but it soon dissipated when the doors flung open and all the students filled out into the hallway. By now what's his face was lost in the crowed and out of sight, leaving me with only one thought.

He made me later for another freaking class, great.
