Chapter 14
The doctors immediately helped Aiden. I watched the doctors work on him. They scurried about. Some gave some patients medicine, and one of the doctors gave Aiden some medicine. I took out my sketchbook, which was back in my skirt. I sat on one of the chairs. I started drawing Aiden and I before the aftershock hit. I even drew him with the sketchbook. His smile was big, and I was smiling slightly too.
I sketched every detail. The broken buildings, the cracked street, the fallen lampposts, even some of the clouds. I saw other people around me. Some cars were parked outside. Since this tent was near the main rode, a few people probably drove here to help others. As soon as I finished that drawing, I started drawing the tent with us in it. I also drew the cars that I could. I had never drawn a car before, but it looked good. I smiled as I drew. When I finished, I looked up. A woman was looking at me.
"We're you that flying thing in the sky?" she asked. I bit my lip. "You're the monster!" she screamed. The doctors looked at us, clearly annoyed. I didn't want to talk. I put my finger to my lips. "I'm calling the police!" she said.
"Kick her!" screamed the beast. I stood up and stepped on her foot.
"Hey!" she yelled. She grabbed my arm as I tried to walk off. "You're not going anywhere!" she yelled. I stomped on her foot. She let go and I took off running. She chased me. "Monster! Monster!" she screamed. The rain was still pouring, but I heard her. I tripped over a fallen door. She caught up to me and grabbed my shirt. "I'm going to kill you, monster," she said.
"I'm not a monster!" I screamed. She pulled out a pocket knife. "No!" I screamed in terror. I kicked her. She dropped the knife and let me go. I took off running again, but she didn't chase me, which was a relief. I ran until I found a piece of cardboard I could hold over my head. I saw I was bruised and bleeding. It was so creepy, I just stopped looking at myself. The pain hit me all at once. Tears rolled down my cheeks, which made me feel like a cry baby. Too much crying.
As soon as I stopped, I looked up and saw the woman. "I'm not a monster," I told her. I stood up. She smirked. I gave her a look and started to walk off. Vicky came up holding a rock above her head. She tried to throw it at me, but it didn't. It hit her right on the head. Her consciousness was gone and the woman gave me a glare.
"You did this! You're going to pay!" she screamed. I ran to Vicky. She needed help. I picked her up with my super strength. The woman's jaw dropped. I ran away. I was going to help Vicky.
