Chapter 11
I woke up. A doctor was helping me. Everything was blurry. "What happened?" I asked.
"You passed out after a piece of your roof fell on your head. Your parents tried to save you, but they passed out too. They're also being treated," said the doctor. Everything came into focus. I wasn't in the hospital I thought I was in. I was in a tent. The hospital must of fallen too. I saw lots of hurt people. The doctors all rushed about. People were coming in with other injured people. Sadly, they didn't have enough doctors to treat everyone.
"I'll help," I told the doctor. He sighed and nodded.
"Can you do anything?" I asked the beast.
"I can give you super strength, but that's about it," he responded.
"What about healing powers?" I asked. He snorted.
"I'm a beast, not a fairy," he responded. He chuckled.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"It's funny you don't know what a beast is," he replied.
"I do, and it's pretty much a monster," I responded. He stayed silent. I got up from the hospital bed. As soon as I left, the doctors had to put someone else in it. They looked like they needed it more than I did. I saw some people with their family and friends, helping the doctors help them. I saw kids, adults, and even pets being helped. Some of the few guard dogs were guarding, and the police dogs were sniffing out people, and I even saw service dogs walking around and barking if someone needed something really badly. Some of the pets were badly injured, while some just had a few bandages. Those pets laid with their owners.
I walked around, trying to find my parents. I then saw...my old parents. I ran to them. "Mom? Dad?" I asked. They looked at me.
"Bella, what are you doing here? The police told us you were dead," my mom said softly. I took her hand.
"I'm here, Mom," I said. Tears were running down my cheeks. My mom squeezed my hand.
"Be a hero, Bella," she told me. She closed her eyes.
"I will," I responded. I saw a dog next to her.
"That's Apple, the dog that was going to be your early birthday gift. You were kidnapped the day before we got her," my dad told me.
"But my birthday is three weeks away!" I said.
"We had to pick her up then. She was almost killed and needed a home," said my dad. I stroked Apple's head. My dad soon was snoring quietly. I left them and saw my new parents, even though I wanted to be with my real parents.
"Hi," I said. They were both awake.
"Honey, who were you talking to?" asked my not real mom.
"My real parents. They want me," I said.
"Be where you're happy," my not real dad replied.
"I'm going to help these people, and then stay with my real parents, but I'll visit," I told them. They nodded. I turned to the door and ran out.
