(Current day Jerome's Pov)

There was squids EVERYWHERE. I have no clue how this happened. At one moment I was home, hanging with Mitch and then the next, we're fighting a bunch of squids. Sky really out did himself this time. How we're not use to squid invasions yet, I don't know.

I slammed Betty into the side of the one I was fighting's head then looked around at the group. Ty, Sky and Jason were all back to back fighting and Mitch was up in a tree, sniping a group of squids that were trying to get to him. Q was struggling but Ssundee ran to his aid. Then I noticed a flicker out of the corner of my eye.

Looking over I saw a squid, larger than the others standing and watching. That must be the leader. If I can take him out this should end. Clenching Betty's hilt I ran at the leader. It saw me and pulled out a sword. Letting out a cry I lunged at it and started bringing Betty down. It was more skilled than the other squids and blocked.

We kept up our sparring, one of us attacking and the other defending with equal skill. Soon we had separated from the group. I was starting to get into a pattern. Swing, duck, swing, block. I grinned as I started pushing back. I raised Betty and started to bring it down when a searing pain went through my chest.

I froze up and stared at the squid. Looking down I saw it pull the sword from my chest. My legs buckled and I fell to my knees. No... I can't lose... the others need me... I looked at the squid and saw that it had started to walk away. A new energy filled me as I stood up and let out a bacca roar before lunging at it and bringing betty down on it's head.

The squid fell instantly and so did I. The pain in my chest grew as I stared at the sky. I did it... I stopped the leader... The pain started to blur with everything else till all I could see was the sky. I felt tired and weak. I think... I'll take a nap now... A long nap... I closed my eyes and everything slipped away.

Yay for the first test! It's complete crap but that's OK because no one will ever see it!
